When you're ready,
Sit down on the floor or in a chair and sit up straight.
Make sure your shoulders are back and your head is held up high and you're in alignment.
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
And as you take another deep breath in,
Allow your chest to open and your shoulders to come back just a little bit so that you really fill your chest and your torso with your breath.
And as you breathe out,
Let your shoulders drop.
If you tend to hold yourself tense during the day,
Really let your shoulders drop and relax and let the tension melt.
And take another deep breath in and breathe out.
If you haven't already done so,
Close your eyes and continue to breathe slow and deep through your nose.
As you breathe in,
Become aware of your body and your breath filling your lungs and your body and feel yourself centering and putting your attention fully back on yourself.
And now imagine you're in your snow gear.
You've got your boots on,
The heavy coat,
A scarf,
A hat,
And you're walking through fresh snow.
There's a few feet of snow on the ground.
It's a light,
Fluffy,
Powdery snow.
It's nighttime.
There's a full,
Bright moon in the sky and it's glinting off the snow around you.
You see the stars above you,
Trees in the distance,
But there's no one else around.
It's you and this beautiful,
Expansive nature.
You walk through the snow,
One slow and steady step after another.
It's a little difficult and all of your energy and concentration fills your body as you continue to walk through this fresh,
Powdery snow.
Your movements are consistent and rhythmic and as you take one step after another,
Your mind begins to clear.
All of your energy and focus is on walking and continuing on.
Up ahead is a cabin and you're heading for this cabin.
One step after another.
All of your muscles working together to get you there.
A light wind passes through the area,
Cooling your face and dusting some snow off of the trees.
As you come closer to the cabin,
You pause for just a moment to look up at the millions of stars and you take a deep,
Refreshing breath of this crisp,
Cool air.
And you can feel how much you have exerted yourself to get here,
How many steps you've taken to get here,
And you feel the relief because you're almost there.
You return to walking,
Lifting your boots up,
Crunching down in the snow.
All you hear is your own breath and the snow under your feet.
You come to the door of the cabin and the relief is growing into something more,
Something almost euphoric.
You open the door and the warmth envelopes you instantly and you smile.
You come inside,
You close the door,
And you soak in the quiet.
This is your own private cabin,
Your own sanctuary for only you.
Nobody else knows how to get here.
You take off your coat and your boots.
You walk over to a couch,
Which sits before a fire that's already burning.
From the kitchen,
You smell something that is so delicious,
Perhaps spiced cider or fresh bread baking in the oven.
You breathe it all in,
Feeling the warmth coming from the fireplace.
Your body is tired from all that walking and you begin to melt.
You can't fight it.
Your body relaxes into the couch.
Your muscles ease up,
Your joints and tensions relax as your body takes in the message more and more that it can just enjoy this.
You don't have to do anything right now,
Except enjoy the fire,
Enjoy the sweet smell,
Enjoy this moment of healing and refreshing and calming.
You're so relaxed and so warm.
You no longer have to exert yourself.
You can just enjoy and let go.
This is your cabin.
This is your space.
There's nothing you have to do right now.
As you sit before the fire,
The snow that was on your pants and that got onto your socks a bit,
It begins to melt and drip down around you and it feels as if your stress,
Your worry,
Your fatigue and your upset,
It's just melting with the snow drop by drop and falling off of you.
This fire is so toasty warm and cozy that it doesn't take long for that water to begin to evaporate and everything to dry and you feel even lighter,
Like even more is lifting off of you with the evaporation of the water.
Everything is just falling away.
Lean back into the couch.
Let it hold you.
Allow yourself to be supported and cushioned and watch the fire as the flames dance and listen to the crackle of the fire and just sit in the warmth and as you sit here,
A feeling of love comes over you.
It feels as if it's filling the whole room and that this is just a space of love and enjoy this time in your own cozy cabin to soak up the good,
Positive vibrations of this cabin to give yourself this time that you need and you deserve and let go and just breathe.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Give yourself a moment to come back into your room and the space you're in.
Know that whenever you desire,
You can return to the cabin because it's your cabin and it's there for you.
Take a few more cleansing and refreshing breaths.
Thank you so much for taking this time to meditate with me.
I wish you a wonderful day.
