Are you experiencing discomfort, pain or emotional agony? This practice will help transport you to a place of ease. We will use breathwork, visualization and mantras to move from our focus on physical sensation (pain) to relaxation and peace.

Hello my friend.
So good to be here with you today.
This guided meditation was created during a time when I was experiencing a great amount of physical pain.
If you are having a hard time with coping with physical or even emotional pain,
This meditation will help transport you to a place of calm.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position to sit or lie down.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible,
Maybe grabbing some pillows,
Blankets,
Or other tools to assist you in finding a resting position.
Once you're settled,
Begin to lengthen your breaths,
Inhaling through your nose,
Exhaling out through your mouth.
Breathing in,
Exhaling out,
Finding a steady rhythm here.
If it's difficult for you to concentrate,
Maybe try focusing on your breath by counting the length of your inhales.
Breathing in,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And exhaling,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Continue breathing in this way with your inhales,
Focusing on the warm breath filling you up.
Bringing softness into your body.
On your exhales,
Focusing on any tension or stress leaving your body.
Maybe this is a time when you have a mantra forming in your mind,
Something you repeat to yourself while you're inhaling.
I fill myself with peace.
And when you're exhaling,
I let go of tension.
These are examples.
You may find other words that feel more suitable for your practice as you're focusing on the movement of your breath.
Let's bring the focus now to our physical body,
Feeling the points of your body that are making contact with the floor,
The pillow,
Or place you're seated upon.
You may begin to feel your breath change as you shift your focus to physical sensation in your body.
And begin to notice pain you are feeling.
For a moment,
Let's bring our full attention to the part of our body that is experiencing the most sensation of pain.
Can you feel where the waves of pain are coming from?
Is there a clear spot,
Or does it feel like it's all over the body?
Notice if you can the root or seed of the pain.
Using your breath,
Inhale and envision a calming color enters your body and fills that painful area with warmth.
Exhale and feel the color,
The warmth,
And the pain begin to move out of you with your exhale.
Can you notice as you move your attention away from the center of pain,
The softening,
Like ripples in water,
The intensity diminishing as you bring your focus away from this place?
Try imagining that you are a body of water.
The pain is a rock that is thrown into this water and the ripples,
Most intense in the middle,
Become lessened as they move away toward the shore.
Follow the ripples to the point in your body where there is no pain.
This may take time.
Keep your breath steady like waves as you inhale,
Breathe in warmth and softness.
Exhale drifting into relaxation,
Coolness,
Riding the waves toward the shore.
Maybe you're finding a mantra as you're inhaling.
I fill myself with peace.
When you're exhaling,
I let go of tension.
Where in your body do you feel no pain?
Let the waves carry you to this place.
Maybe today that place is your fingertips,
Your cuticles,
The hair follicles on your head.
Perhaps a place without any sensation is the tip of your nose or your earlobes.
If you can,
Keep moving your focus to all the places where you experience no pain.
Like you're easing yourself into a warm,
Cozy bath,
Let this part of your body that has no pain wrap you in an embrace and radiate through your body with tranquility.
Just as our pain ripples outward,
Let this non-pain ripple through your body.
Does this peaceful place have a color?
Can you see it moving from one area of your body and developing other areas of yourself in common energy?
Allow all of the areas of your body that feel no pain to radiate beautiful,
Pleasurable sensations throughout you,
Overlapping,
Covering,
And calming any areas that may have pain so that the calm is blanketing the tension and dampening its effect.
Keep breathing,
Filling yourself up with peace and tranquility while you inhale,
Exhaling to soften more and let go of tension.
As you continue breathing,
Allowing your body to continue to relax.
Let's now focus on the emotions that we've experienced lately.
How has the ache in your body impacted your mood,
Your relationship,
Your day-to-day life?
Has your breath changed when you shift your focus to how you've been reacting in a state of pain?
Let's come back to our mantra.
Breathing in,
I fill myself with peace.
Breathing out,
I let go of tension.
See yourself soften.
See yourself in your innocence.
Allow forgiveness into your heart for how you may have negatively reacted to life situations during your time of pain.
If you need,
Perhaps let out the emotion with a deep sigh.
Maybe shedding some tears and feeling your humanness.
It is okay.
It is alright.
Let yourself go completely.
Hear all my words holding you,
Supporting you,
And allowing you to melt and empty out.
Is there anything else you need to let go of?
Take your time,
Maybe shifting your focus to your mantra,
Allowing yourself to take what you need here to fill yourself back up with radiant healing light.
You are amazing.
You are strong.
You are loved.
You can stay here,
Breathing in this way.
Pause the meditation,
Maybe work on a personal mantra.
When you are ready to let go of this meditation,
Shift your focus back into your present space.
Feel the ground supporting you.
Before we end,
I invite you to take a moment to thank yourself for the hard work you've done today,
Acknowledging the efforts that you've made.
Thank you so much for joining me.
The light in me sees the light in you,
My friend.
Be well.
Namaste.
