Welcome.
Today we're going to do a practice of visualization.
Visualization is typically looking into the future and the future is always uncertain.
It's something that we lack control over and so within that we typically can get quite anxious when we're living in doubt and fear and a lack of control.
So if you are someone who suffers from anxiety this is an incredible practice.
I want you to find a comfortable seat or a lie down and then bring to your mind's eye something in the future that maybe you have a little bit of anxiety regarding.
Maybe there's a conversation that needs to be had,
Maybe there's a big presentation on the horizon,
Or maybe there's an outcome that you're really just hoping does not come to fruition.
Let that situation settle in.
Feel that situation in your body.
Notice where it resides.
Is it in your chest?
Does it feel like heavy or light?
Is there a texture to it?
A grittiness?
A dullness?
Now we typically see the worst case scenario when we're projecting into the future especially if we're someone who deals with anxiety.
But what if there was a best case scenario in your situation that you see?
What is the best possible outcome?
Send yourself into that situation walking through it as it unfolds in the most positive way.
That moment of recognition,
The moment of celebration,
The ah moment when you feel relief because it all worked out.
Continue to play out this situation in the light.
Notice how it feels in your body.
Is there a noticeable shift of how you feel physically,
Mentally,
Or energetically when you're walking through this situation in its best case scenario?
If that negative outcome starts to push its way through,
If you feel doubt,
Well this can't happen.
Maybe take a big exhale and just let that go and create space for the positive.
In our society,
It is natural to go towards the negative.
So if this feels unnatural,
That's okay.
It's a practice.
The more you do it,
The easier it becomes.
Take a nice big breath in here and a full breath out,
Reminding yourself that there is always several different variations,
Several different outcomes,
And we spend so much time in the fear space,
We forget we can also create from that positive space of possibility.
