Welcome to this moment of mindfulness.
Together,
I'd like to explore the art of letting go and embracing life's natural flow.
In a similar way that paint moves across a canvas.
Find a comfortable position,
Whether seated or lying down.
And allow the chair or the bed to support your weight.
As you slowly begin to close your eyes and soften your gaze.
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose.
And gently release it slowly through your mouth.
As you feel your body beginning to settle into this space.
In your own way,
Allow your breath to find a gentle natural rhythm.
Now bring your attention to your body.
And begin to notice if there are any tense or tight places holding tension.
Maybe it's in your shoulders,
Your jaw or perhaps in your stomach.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing that tension.
Allowing it to flow out of your body.
As you envision a brush stroke on canvas.
As you continue to breathe.
Bring your mind and imagination into picturing a blank canvas in your mind.
Consider this canvas representing your life as it is right now.
With all its complexities,
Challenges and beauty.
Imagine holding a pot of paint.
And let this symbolise your worries,
Your need for control and your desire for certainty.
Now picture yourself gently tipping the pot.
Allowing the paint to freely pour onto the canvas.
Watching it as it flows in unexpected patterns.
Perhaps creating shapes and textures that you couldn't have planned.
There's no need to direct or fix it,
Just allow it to flow.
As the paint settles,
Notice the beauty in its imperfections.
Its unpredictability.
Remind yourself that you don't need to control every detail.
Life is like painting.
It unfolds in its own unique way.
And you are simply here to witness and embrace it.
Continue to breathe using the deep cleansing breath.
In through the nose.
And releasing gently through the mouth.
And bring your attention back to the breath.
Really feeling the air entering and leaving your body.
Notice how the act of letting go feels.
Perhaps you notice a lightness.
More openness.
Or more peace.
Remind yourself that you are enough.
Just as you are in this moment.
When you are ready,
Bring your awareness back into the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And take a nice deep breath in.
Allow your abdomen to expand.
And then gently let it go.
Releasing any remaining tension.
As it releases on contact with the air.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
And carry this sense of acceptance and flow with you.
As you move throughout your day.
