Welcome,

And thank you for joining me in this meditation,

Where you'll have the chance to close the day by releasing the events and circumstances,

The stresses and challenges of the day,

So you can rest and find some peace.

To begin,

Get into a comfortable position,

Seated or lying down.

When you're ready,

Gently close your eyes,

And we'll start by taking a few deep breaths.

So go ahead and take a full deep breath in,

And exhale,

Feeling yourself releasing the air from your lungs.

Take another deep breath in,

And exhale,

Allowing your muscles to relax.

Take another deep breath in,

And release,

And then continue breathing at your normal pace.

The simple act of breathing gives you the feeling and sensations of release.

You can feel the release of air from your lungs.

You can feel the release of tension in your muscles and in your body,

Particularly in your torso as you let the air leave your lungs.

We're going to take a few more deep breaths,

And this time let out a sigh as you exhale.

The sigh really emphasizes the release.

So as you sigh,

Pay close attention to the experience of release,

The sensations that you feel,

The relief.

So let's take a deep breath in,

And sigh.

Take another deep breath in,

And sigh it out.

Continue breathing in and sighing on your own.

And as I mentioned,

Focus your attention on the experience of release as you sigh.

Be present with how it feels in your body.

When you're ready,

You can return your breathing to normal.

And of course,

Feel free to let out a sigh whenever it feels right.

Bringing your awareness to your body once again.

With each breath,

Notice yourself feeling lighter and more relaxed.

Scan through your body now,

And breathe into any remaining areas of tension,

Tightness.

And as you breathe out,

Allow the tension to release.

Now that you've experienced a release through the body and the breath,

We'll focus on mental release.

Releasing the details,

Events,

Problems and thoughts from the day that your mind is holding onto.

Those things that still have your attention,

That feel incomplete and unresolved,

But that can be set aside until tomorrow,

When your mind is fresh and clear after a good night's rest.

So first,

Imagine in front of you a box or a container of some kind.

Something that you can close with a lid or a door.

Imagine this container in front of you.

It can be a simple box,

Or a cabinet,

A briefcase,

Or a safe.

Anything that comes to mind.

Notice the details of this container in your mind's eye.

Noticing the size,

The shape,

The color,

All of its details.

Now picture yourself opening the container and seeing the space inside where you'll be storing what you can let go of from the day.

Next,

Scan through your mind.

What problems,

Dilemmas,

Situations,

Challenges are you still holding onto from the day that you would like to release for now?

As things come to mind,

Without trying to problem solve or plan or process,

Simply allow them to take a shape or a form in front of you.

Something that you can see that can represent the situation or the problem.

You might see certain images or specific objects,

Balls of light,

Dark clouds,

Whatever comes to mind.

Let them appear in front of you,

And after you acknowledge what each one is,

Imagine yourself putting it into the container in whatever manner seems right for you.

You may notice your mind still wanting to ruminate on something or holding onto certain thoughts.

And if that's the case,

Give yourself permission to let it go for now.

Offering yourself reassurance that the answers and solutions that you seek will come through more clearly when you can step away from thinking and allow your mind to rest.

Remind yourself that for now,

You're giving yourself the opportunity to release the day and give yourself some well-deserved peace of mind.

Once you have everything placed in the container,

See yourself closing the container up.

You can even let out a sigh as you do so,

Signaling the release.

Allow a slight smile to come across your face and invite in the feelings of lightness,

Relaxation,

And relaxation.

With each breath,

Feel yourself getting lighter and lighter,

To the point that you feel like you were floating.

Slowly rising up in the air,

Effortlessly floating up,

Up through the roof and out into the night sky.

Feeling above this day,

Relaxed,

Calm,

And free.

Feeling the temperature of the air against your skin as you continue to glide through the air.

Feeling the beat of your heart.

Feeling a sense of warmth in your core at your heart center.

Feeling the warmth of your heart radiating outward and throughout your chest and torso,

Offering you a sense of comfort and soothing.

Feeling the warmth moving up into your shoulders and down your arms,

Into your hands.

Feeling the warmth easing any tension in your neck and enveloping the back of your head and your face,

Loosening the muscles in your neck,

Relaxing the muscles in your face,

Around your mouth,

Around your eyes,

And across your forehead.

Feel comforting.

Returning your awareness to the radiating warmth in your chest,

Noticing now how it moves down your torso,

Warming your stomach and back.

Feeling the warmth move down through your hips and around your thighs,

Wrapping around your knees,

Allowing the joints to loosen,

Warming your calves and your ankles,

Radiating into your feet all the way to your toes,

Feeling a pulsing or a tingling in your feet and toes.

Feeling your whole body now,

Floating,

Wrapped in warmth,

Relaxation,

And ease.

You can put today behind you.

You did everything you could in the best way that you could.

You deserve rest and peace of mind so that tomorrow you can be the best version of yourself and tackle the day's problems with a renewed sense of strength,

Confidence,

And clarity.

Now allow yourself to gently start drifting back down from the sky,

Slowly descending back into the space that you're in,

Landing softly and gently.

Now feeling the points where your body is making contact with the surface beneath you.

Taking a big deep nourishing breath,

Release with a feeling of satisfaction.

When you're ready you can start to move your body a little,

Stretch if you need to,

And when it feels right,

Gently open your eyes and return yourself fully to the present moment.

Offer yourself appreciation for taking this time to bring closure to your day and giving yourself the gift of release.

I hope you have a restful night ahead.

Take good care.
