Good morning,
Friends.
My name is Meg and today I'm going to be leading you through a visualization to help you let go of what's old,
What's stale,
What's not serving you anymore,
To make room for what comes next,
Whatever you're trying to cultivate.
So go ahead and get set up in whatever meditative shape you would like,
Whether that's laying down,
Whether it's sitting in a chair,
Or something totally different.
That's completely up to you.
But as you get settled,
Start to notice your connection to whatever it is that you're sitting or laying on.
Notice your connection to the ground beneath you and let that connection pull you into this moment.
So even as your mind pulls you in maybe a couple of different directions,
See if you can pull yourself in and completely feel and experience the moment that is right now.
The only moment that's real.
Today our goal is to begin to let go.
Sometimes that can feel really hard and really difficult.
So just knowing that you're not going to feel completely cleared of anything that's old,
That anything that's stuck right now,
But that doesn't mean that you never will.
So as you close your eyes or you softly gaze at the room around you,
I want you to imagine an oak tree.
Something tall,
Strong,
With branches and lots of leaves.
And start to really feel connected to this tree.
This tree that stands tall.
This tree that has roots that you can't see.
That has maybe lived for longer than you've lived,
Or maybe five times as long as you've lived.
And I want you to let your awareness just wander all the way up into the branches,
To the leaves.
Maybe in your visualization the sun is shining through the leaves.
Maybe you notice a breeze and the leaves start to sway from side to side.
You notice that the leaves start to turn brown or burnt orange,
And one by one they start to fall away.
But the tree isn't sad.
The tree knows that new leaves will grow,
That the old leaves will become beds for the birds in the forest,
And that this is just a cycle.
That it's natural for the old leaves to fall away.
We're not angry at those leaves,
And maybe in some way you feel a void,
A little empty or a little naked.
But we trust that new,
Fresh leaves,
Maybe flowers and fruit,
Will grow in their place.
So take a deep breath in.
Really fill up your lungs completely,
Holding this image in your mind.
Open the mouth,
Exhale.
Let some of those old leaves just fly away with the wind.
Take another deep breath in,
And as you breathe,
Notice the space you're creating with the breath.
Really fill up,
Feel the shoulders come apart,
The chest rise.
Open the mouth,
Exhale,
Press out all that old steel energy from your body.
Maybe you continue for a few more moments,
Letting this natural cycle of breath do the same exact thing that the leaves,
That the tree is experiencing.
Calling in new,
Fresh perspectives,
New opportunities,
And letting go of all that's old and not serving us anymore.
Because in order to grow something new,
A new life,
A new relationship,
A new job,
Anything that you need or you want in your life,
It's so important to let go of other things that are taking up that space that you need.
And giving yourself the time to process that space,
To maybe feel a little bit lighter,
Even a little bit empty,
Knowing that soon you will be full,
Satisfied,
And fulfilled.
Knowing that you're already whole,
You're already enough,
Exactly the way that you are.
In whatever cycle,
Whatever piece of the cycle you're in,
Whether you're at the top of the inhale or the bottom of the exhale,
You are whole.
As you sit for as long as you'd like in stillness and wholeness,
Bring one hand to your heart,
One hand to your belly,
Letting the natural cycle of breath be a symbol and a reminder of all the cycles going on within you that maybe you don't even notice.
And just as the tree lets go of the leaves,
You are free to let go of whatever it is that's weighing you down or holding you back from the life that you want.
So thank you so much for taking this time to spend it with me,
To spend it with yourself,
And I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
