When you're ready just starting to ease your way into a comfortable position.
This could be sitting or lying down.
Making any movements,
Any adjustments you need so that you can feel as comfortable as possible.
And when you're ready,
Closing down the veil of your eyelids so that your eyelashes cast a shadow over the apples of your cheeks.
Allowing yourself to settle into stillness.
And releasing any tension,
Any tightness that you're experiencing in your body.
And then becoming aware of the gentleness of your breath.
Experiencing the air that lovingly flows in and out of your body.
And with each exhalation,
Just seeing if you can allow yourself to soften a little more.
To let go.
To allow yourself to be open.
And gently guiding your awareness to the area of the heart.
Being aware of any emotions that are present to the heart space.
Giving yourself permission to feel whatever it is that you're feeling.
And with your awareness on the heart space.
Seeing if you can allow your heart to soften.
To open up to receive your own warmth.
Your own kindness and tenderness.
From this place of connection with your heart,
Beginning to gently repeat to yourself in your mind.
May I be safe.
May I be peaceful.
May I be kind to myself.
May I live with ease and grace.
Finally allowing yourself to receive these well wishes.
Letting go of any resistance to these words that might be present.
Continuing to lovingly repeat to yourself.
May I be safe.
May I be peaceful.
May I be kind to myself.
And may I live with ease and grace.
If your mind is wandering off to thoughts or other distractions,
It can bring this sense of self compassion towards our self into our practice.
Instead of beating yourself up,
Gently saying to yourself that's okay.
And then easily guiding your awareness back to the phrases without judgement or criticism.
Repeating one more time.
May I be safe.
May I be peaceful.
May I be kind to myself.
And may I live with ease and grace.
Allow yourself now to bask in this beautiful energy of kindness,
Warmth,
Love and compassion.
Feeling the essence of compassion shimmering,
Tingling and radiating throughout your entire being as a whole.
Having this energy to continue to flow through every thought,
Every action,
Every encounter and word that you speak.
Throughout the remainder of your day,
Your evening or into your dreams tonight.
As our practice draws to an end,
It's beginning to make each breath a little bit deeper than the one before it.
Slowly finding movement through your toes,
Your fingers,
Your neck and your shoulders.
Taking any other movements,
Any stretches that your body is asking you for.
Finding your way out of your practice slowly.
And when you feel ready,
Gently blinking your eyes back open to a soft,
Loving gaze.
