Hello,

My name is Megan.

Welcome to this short yoga nidra practice to rest and reset your nervous system.

Our nervous system and mind respond and react to all of the sensory input around us,

All of our external stimuli.

Take this time to let your nervous system rest,

A short break from external sensory experience.

I invite you to settle in in a way that feels good for your body.

Lying on the floor or sitting up in a chair.

Your body temperature may drop,

So have a blanket to stay warm and comfortable.

As you settle your physical body,

Feel the earth underneath you.

I invite you to take a big inhale and a long slow exhale.

Exhale,

Exhale.

Create the feeling of ease in your body.

Allow yourself to be effortless.

As the earth holds you,

Allow your bones to be as heavy as they are.

Feel your muscles soften into the earth.

We will journey through the body and bring our conscious awareness to the different body parts.

Allow my words to be your words as we journey together.

We begin with the right hand thumb.

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

Fifth finger.

The palm of the hand.

The back of the hand.

The wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder.

I invite your awareness to travel to the left hand thumb.

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

Fifth finger.

The palm of the hand.

The back of the hand.

Wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder.

Let your awareness rest in your heart center,

The middle of your chest.

Roll up to the center of your throat.

The space between your eyebrows.

Rest your awareness at the crown of your head.

I invite you to notice your right eye and eye socket.

Your left eye and eye socket.

Your right eyelashes.

Your left eyelashes.

Your right cheek.

Your left cheek.

Your top lip.

Your bottom lip.

Both lips together.

Bring your awareness to your entire face and head.

Your upper body.

The right side of your body.

The left side of your body.

Bring your awareness to your whole body.

Your whole body resting.

Notice the natural breath flowing in and out of your nostrils.

The oscillating ebb and flow in and out.

A cadence unique to you.

Feel the cool air come in to your nostrils.

And travel down to your lungs.

Notice the warm air traveling out of your lungs and into the space.

In and out.

On your next inhale,

I invite you to breathe in through the space between your eyebrows.

Your third eye center.

Exhale down to the center of your chest,

Your heart space.

Breathing in through your third eye to your heart center.

Exhale from your heart back out through your third eye.

Inhale through your third eye to your heart center.

Exhale from your heart to your third eye.

In at your third eye and intuition.

Exhale from your heart.

In and out.

Breathing in stillness.

As your natural breath ebbs and flows from your intuition to your heart.

Your inner knowing.

Your compass.

Rest in this awareness and notice what you notice.

Gently deepen your inhale to your heart space.

And softly exhale through your intuition.

Gently deepen your inhale and softly exhale.

Become aware of the space around you.

And as you feel ready,

I invite you to bring small movements to your hands and feet.

You may rock your neck from side to side,

Oscillating it back and forth.

Notice how you feel.

Notice and observe how you're able to reset your nervous system and shift in this short yoga nidra practice.

Thank you so much for practicing with me.

Namaste.
