Hi,

My friend.

Let's take a moment to meet and greet our wonderful bodies.

Sometimes we don't pay attention to them as much as we might like,

As much as they might like,

Because we're a little bit afraid of what we might find there,

A little bit afraid of what we might feel there.

So let's bravely decide to be there.

And a nice way to do this is to find a good spot to rest,

To lie down maybe on your back,

Maybe with a pillow over your tummy or under your knees,

Maybe a blanket.

Let your body settle and take a moment to invite every cell of the body to soften just a bit.

So in this exercise,

We're going to offer different parts of our body,

Our attention,

Our breath,

And loving words from our hearts.

And so to begin,

Let's just find the space of our beautiful heart.

Bring attention there first.

And then a breath,

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Asking the heart to be very available,

Asking the heart to guide us with the kindness,

Compassion,

And love that we know our bodies need.

And we might pause here for a moment and appreciate our hearts.

Gosh,

Aren't they the reason we're here in this moment?

Some gentle nudge,

Some impulse,

Some knowing that it's time.

And so now,

My dear,

Just let my words be your words,

Settling a little more.

And just feel wonderful feet,

Feeling the feet with our awareness,

Our attention.

And take a breath in,

A breath out,

And loving words for the feet,

Maybe something like,

Thank you.

And then the legs,

From the ankles to the knees,

Up the big bones to the hips.

A breath in,

A breath out,

And a loving word or two from the heart.

And then feeling into the pelvis,

Feeling the bum,

The low belly.

A breath in,

A breath out,

And loving words.

We'll move our awareness now into the torso and all of these miraculous structures of the torso,

Spine,

Tailbone,

All the way up to the center of the head.

And then all of the soft organs,

The belly,

And the muscles holding them,

And the chest,

Ribcage,

So stable,

Protected,

And flexible enough.

For the lungs to move,

The heart to beat,

What a wonder.

Feel this whole structure of the torso,

Breath in,

Breath out,

And loving words from the heart for the torso.

And the shoulders,

Feeling shoulders.

A breath in,

A breath out,

Loving words from the heart for the shoulders.

And the arms,

Wonderful arms.

A breath in,

A breath out.

And now the hands,

Wow,

Palms,

Fingers.

How many hands have they held,

Clasped?

A breath in,

A breath out,

And heart words for the hands.

And now feeling the neck and the head,

A breath in and a breath out,

And loving words.

Now these organs of sensation,

These eyes,

The ears,

Skin of the cheeks,

All receiving and perceiving.

And the nose,

Perceiving and receiving this nice breath in and a breath out.

Kind words now from the heart for all of these sensory organs.

Now the whole wonderful body,

From the crown to the feet,

Fingers,

The right hand,

The fingers of the left hand,

This whole wonderful organism.

A breath in,

A breath out,

Feeling all of it,

Offering this next breath to all of it.

And then offering these heart words,

Love,

Kindness,

Appreciation for this whole body,

For all it does for you.

Thank you,

Dear body,

For all the ways you move,

Carry me,

Perceive,

Receive,

For all the ways you heal,

For all the ways you restore,

For all the ways you connect me with this beautiful world.

Thank you,

Dear body.
