Hello,

Hi,

Welcome.

Today's meditation is a really quick one that you can do anytime throughout your workday to give yourself a quick break and a reset.

If you're new here,

Hi,

Welcome.

My name is Amber.

During the day,

I am a project manager at a Fortune 100 tech company,

And this is where I teach meditation for people who live in the modern world.

Here,

We talk about how to use mindfulness to deal with stress caused by work,

Social media,

Current events,

Among other things.

And if that sounds good to you,

I hope you'll stick around.

And with that,

Let's get right in to today's meditation.

All right,

If you've been seated for a while,

Option to do this standing up in a mountain pose with your arms by your sides,

Or if you have a standing desk,

This would be a great time to adjust it to the standing position.

Or if you're seated at your desk,

I invite you to push your chair away,

Or at least face it in the opposite direction so that you can widen your field of vision and see more of the room where you are.

For me,

I often find that my field of vision is limited to my computer screen or my phone.

And so when I take a break,

It's nice to open up the field of vision and give my eyes a bit of a break.

And now as you start to look around the room,

Start to feel a sense of settling,

A sense of coming to the present moment,

Looking around at the objects in the room,

The shapes and the colors that are here,

Just getting a sense of where you are.

You don't need to turn your head too much,

But use your eyes to look at what's to the left and to the right,

Maybe up or down,

Sensing what's here,

Just getting a sense of where you are.

You may have spent your entire day in this room without really seeing it until now.

And now closing the eyes,

Open up your other senses.

What can you hear right now?

Receive any sounds that are coming from nearby and also any sounds that are coming from outside the room where you are.

Then give yourself permission to take these few moments for yourself and going inside yourself now.

I invite you to imagine that you have a personal fuel gauge,

Like on a car,

That measures your level of energy and well-being.

How full is your gas tank today?

Are you feeling charged up and ready to go or are you feeling more low and depleted?

I find that it helps to put a precise number on how I'm feeling,

Whether it's 30% or 80%.

And as you check in with yourself,

Be open to what you might find,

Observing without judgment and sensing in to what's here in this moment.

Now come back to the body and opening the eyes.

Whenever you feel ready.

And now wherever you're headed,

Whether it's to check your inbox or to jump to your next meeting,

I hope you'll proceed with awareness with this new information that you've gained from taking a minute to check in with yourself.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today.

And if you're at the beginning of your meditation journey,

You might like to check out the seven day guided meditation series for beginners that I've just posted on my channel.

Have a great rest of your day and I'll see you again next time.
