Hi there,

And welcome to this meditation.

I'm Mallory,

Or Mal,

And today we're going to be reliving the adventure in this post-hike meditation.

Take a moment to settle your body.

You have worked so hard to get to where you are in this moment.

Taking a breath in,

And letting it go.

Knowing that wherever you walked or climbed or biked,

All of the sights that you saw and all of the energy that you put out there will come back to you.

Know that whatever it is you're looking for,

You will find it.

As you settle into your body now,

Maybe you're sitting down,

Just drifting a little bit more into your own space.

And reliving your hike,

Your walk,

Bringing to mind an image,

Of something you saw along your travels.

Maybe this was a flower,

A mountain,

A brook,

A tree,

An animal.

Try to notice every little aspect of this scene.

How does this make you feel?

Do you feel accomplished?

Bringing attention back to our bodies here,

The bodies that traveled us from point A to B.

Acknowledging our feet that moved each step of the way,

Our knees that bent while walking up or down or flat on a trail.

Getting to our hips,

Where if we carried a pack,

This is where all of that weight sits.

Holding everything that you need or relied on.

And also our route,

Holding in a sense our safety,

Our security,

The extra clothes that we have,

Our rain jackets,

Our food and water.

At the point of our body that is safety,

That is security at our route.

Knowing as we move up through our spine and our back,

Realizing as we get to our heart that this was something that we loved.

This was something that brought us joy and passion.

Feeling our lungs extend,

Expanding and deflating just as they did with each hard part of that hike.

Walking up or down and acknowledging the breath that we have.

We reach our neck and our shoulders which carried the rest of everything we needed,

Carried the rest of our weight and right now let's let them fall heavy.

Let any exercise or physicality that we had in our shoulders almost melt away,

Telling them they can rest now.

We don't need them to hold us up.

We don't need them to carry any more weight.

We get to our face,

Relaxing it,

We get to our head and we realize now that that scene that we imagined is always there for us.

Always there within our minds.

We can always come back to it.

Rest in it.

Observe it.

Walk around.

If it's a field,

We can walk through it again.

Up along a cliff,

We can scurry along the side.

Winding through trees,

We can look up at those leaves and notice every little detail,

The sun,

The wind.

Notice all of it.

I'll leave you here in your space from your hike.

Maybe tomorrow you will go out and wander further or adventure more.

Or maybe you can come back to this whenever you want to remember your hike.

As a reminder to thank your body,

But also as a reminder to thank your mind and your eyes for letting you soak in everything from nature.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day.

In these less than 10 minutes,

You were able to ground just a little bit more than you were before.

As always,

From my heart to yours,

I thank you.

That was so great! I was thinking about an epic Yosemite hike. This brought back great memories. Looking forward to more magical hikes.
