Hi,

Welcome to this mindfulness meditation on fostering courage and resilience.

My name is Marlene and I will be guiding you today.

In this meditation,

We are going to focus on unplugging from the world for a little while,

Getting comfortable and grounded,

And embracing affirmations around courage and resilience.

To begin,

Let yourself get really comfortable seated or laying down in whatever way feels good for you.

We are going to take the next few minutes to separate ourselves from the rest of the world.

This sacred time is for you.

Imagine that there is an invisible cord attaching you to your external obligations and responsibilities.

Now imagine yourself taking your hand and unplugging yourself from those obligations and responsibilities for a little while.

Allow yourself to take a cleansing breath in and as you exhale,

Imagine you are letting go of any residual connections to your obligations and responsibilities.

Right now,

This time is for you.

Bring your awareness to all the places where your body is making contact with the floor or chair beneath you.

Really feel how the different parts of your body make contact with the ground beneath you.

Let yourself sink into the support of what is beneath you,

Feeling grounded and supported.

Take a moment to inhale through your nose,

Picking up any tension or stress from the day and exhale.

Take another cleansing breath in and this time feel free to let out a sigh as you exhale.

If your mind has wandered,

Gently bring your attention back into this present moment.

We will now begin the affirmation portion of this guided meditation.

I will repeat each affirmation two times and allow space for you to repeat after me to yourself or out loud.

I am resilient.

I am resilient.

I am courageous.

I am courageous.

I can rise to the challenge.

I can rise to the challenge.

Challenges are opportunities for growth.

Challenges are opportunities for growth.

I am ready.

I am ready.

Take a moment to allow yourself to absorb the affirmations that you just said and feel free to return to them throughout the day as you need to.

Now bring your awareness back to your body and where it makes contact with the ground beneath you.

Take a nice deep breath in and out.

If your eyes are closed,

Feel free to open them,

Orienting yourself back to the room and feeling ready to return to your day.
