Welcome to the cultivating inner calm meditation.
As you set yourself up in your seated position,
Your feet firmly on the ground resting your hands gently in your lap.
Softly closing your eyes now as you make yourself comfortable in your position for just a few minutes.
Allowing sounds may come and distract you to simply ebb and flow.
You bring your awareness back to the guided meditation.
Allowing thoughts to also come and go.
Knowing that some may stay around for a little longer.
Wanting to have a conversation with your mind.
Should you find this happening,
It's mindfully with pure kindness free of judgment.
It's bringing your awareness back to the guided meditation.
As you allow all scattered aspects of your day to drop away,
Away from your shoulders.
Leaving them at the door.
And your next in-breath is taking three long peaceful breaths in.
The sighing on the out-breath.
Sinking into a natural rhythm.
An ebb and flow that feels comfortable for you.
That feels right in this very moment.
The relaxing breath in.
And releasing breath out.
It's feeling the temperature of the breath on your nose as it travels in and out.
You slow down all of the busyness from your day.
Feeling the breath as it travels down into your belly slowly quietly in and out.
Creating the space to awaken every cell in your body.
More and more.
Deeper and deeper.
Breath by breath.
Sitting here gently.
As gently as a soft blue sky.
Just as busy clouds come and go.
Sometimes completely consuming the calm blue sky.
So notice how the sky always continues to rest.
Resting in the inner calmness that is always there.
Circling the air.
Breathe in the inner calm of a blue sky now.
With this breath.
And this breath.
Breathing all the way down into your belly.
Knowing that despite the noise around you.
Distracting you.
Keeping you busy at work.
At home.
There is a stillness deep within you that you can access.
That you can simply breathe into.
An expansiveness as large as a clear blue sky.
Dropping into this space now.
In any time you need.
By simply taking a long slow breath in.
All the way down into your belly.
Allowing your breath to flow gently in and out.
Harmoniously flowing together.
Resting in the space in between the busyness.
In between the noise of your day.
Of your week.
With this breath.
And this breath.
Now you can access and ground in this natural state of inner calm.
By taking a long deep breath in.
At any time of the day.
Any time you need to centre.
And enter the stillness within.
Allowing the busyness,
The daily noise to become something that happens around you.
And not to you.
A moment to moment.
And on your next in breath.
Shifting your awareness to the pressure points.
Of your legs against the seat beneath you.
Feeling the floor of the room beneath your feet.
When you're ready.
Gently beginning to open and close your fingers.
Slowly opening your eyes as you are welcomed back into this room.
