Hello,
Thank you so much for joining me.
This is just a short meditation to bring the awareness to your breath.
Taking a few moments out of your day to just be in your body and to let it breathe.
So start by getting yourself comfortable.
If you're sitting in a chair or your feet resting firmly on the floor,
If you're lying down,
Maybe putting something underneath your knees to be gentle with your lower back.
Wherever you are,
Letting the spine be long,
The shoulders moving away from the ears.
Closing your eyes and letting them soften,
Softening the jaw,
The fingers,
And the toes.
Taking a deep breath in and letting go,
Big sigh out.
Letting yourself arrive.
And then right away,
Just bringing your awareness to your breath.
Wherever you feel it the most in your body,
Any sensations associated with it.
Not worrying about changing it.
Not worrying about it not being good enough or deep enough.
Just letting it be your breath right now.
No matter what it was like yesterday or what it will be like tomorrow.
This is it.
You're here and you're breathing.
And recognize that for the miracle that it really is that your body can do this without you having to do anything.
Without you working or striving or straining.
Without trying.
On its own,
Your body just hums along,
Inhaling and exhaling.
And that truly is interesting.
It truly is a miracle.
When you think of it that way,
It becomes just that much easier to keep your awareness on the breath.
Just noticing it.
And then go ahead and let that go.
Start to become aware of the rest of your body.
Your fingers and toes,
The crown of your head,
Your eyes,
Your jaw,
Shoulders and hips.
Your body as a whole in whatever space you are in.
And maybe that awareness of your breath,
That feeling of it being a little bit magic can translate to the rest of your body as well.
And maybe it's something you can bring to all the other little everyday things that are kind of miraculous.
Maybe it's a spirit you can take with you throughout the rest of your day.
If you had your eyes closed,
Go ahead and let them softly open.
Looking at the world around you,
Maybe in a little bit of a new way.
One last deep breath in,
Big sigh out.
Thank you so much for joining me for this short practice.
May you have peace in your thoughts.
May you have strength in your words.
May you have joy in your heart.
And may you find a few little magical miracles throughout the rest of your day.
Have a wonderful day.
