Let's begin by taking a moment.
Allow your body to settle into a comfortable position.
You can keep your eyes closed or let them slightly open,
But allow your spine to lift,
The top of your head reaching up gently towards the sky and your shoulders softening.
Today we'll practice simply stopping.
Begin by taking a nice full breath in and a long breath out.
Notice what it's like to just stop,
To simply be still and present in this moment.
There's nothing that you have to do right now.
There's no job you have to perform.
There's no task that has to be done right this second.
No role you have to embody.
You can simply be still and present in this moment.
You might notice thoughts or sensations or sounds,
But just notice what it's like to be still and present in this moment.
The moment you're living right now.
Simply stopping.
And each time you find your mind somewhere else,
Just play with inviting the sense of stopping.
Let's continue practicing like this for a little while.
Let's take a moment to let go of the past,
And let go of the past for a little while.
Let's take a moment to let go of the past for a little while.
Let's take a moment to let go of the past for a little while.
And finishing with a nice deep breath in,
And a long breath out.
And just remembering,
Whenever you start a new activity today,
Maybe a work meeting or a meal,
A new task,
Just practice stopping and inviting just one minute of silence to give yourself time to stop,
Resist that forward moving momentum,
And just become more present to the next activity and the moment you're living.
