So making yourself really comfortable,

Whether it's on the chair or lying on the mat on the floor.

Feeling the contact of your body with the surfaces,

With the soles of your feet on the floor and your sitting bones if you're on the chair.

The back of your head and torso on the mat,

The heels of your feet.

Allow yourself to sink into the surface,

Taking a few deeper breaths and settling your breathing into a natural soothing rhythm.

Breathing in and breathing out,

Feeling how your body is held and soothed by the natural rhythm of your breathing.

And feeling the muscles in your body relax,

Release on the out-breath.

Now bringing to mind a special place,

A place that you feel safe and comfortable and warming.

This is a special place for yourself,

A place that you wish to go and visit and a place that welcomes you.

Your special place is glad to see you and welcomes you when you come to visit.

So bringing to mind your special place,

This place of comfort and warmth,

A place of security.

Bring to mind this place and imagining imagining yourself visiting your special place,

Knowing that your special place is happy to see you come and visit.

Imagining yourself visiting your place and feeling the sensations that arise in your body.

How does it feel to be in your special place?

Perhaps feeling the warmth of the plants,

Or the fire or the sunshine.

Listening to any gentle sounds,

Maybe of nature.

What smells are there to be smelled?

Can you smell?

What sights are there to be seen?

What colours?

Find compassionate colours in your special place.

What does your place look like?

Be aware of the whole of your experience of being in your special safe place.

The warmth and comfort and tenderness that you feel in this place.

The ease,

Soft smells in the air,

Gentle peaceful music.

Imagining yourself taking your ease there,

Making yourself really comfortable.

Whether it's on a chair,

A comfy chair,

Or lying on the bed,

Or whatever you would like to do in your special place.

Feeling the welcome,

Perhaps there's some special food put out for you,

Maybe some flowers,

Soft smells.

Knowing that your place is glad to see you,

Welcomes you unconditionally,

However you're feeling.

Taking your ease in your special place.

Allowing yourself to feel in your body the easing and releasing,

Relaxing,

Breathing,

Soothing rhythm,

Resting.

You're safe,

It's your special place,

Only you can invite me.

Feeling your whole body rocked by the soothing breath,

Feeling rocked to this rhythm,

This natural rhythm.

Feeling how your special place cares for you,

Brings you little gifts,

Flowers.

Taking your ease in your special place for as long as you wish.

Knowing that you're safe,

Knowing that you can always come back,

That it's always available to you.

Special place,

Place of ease and comfort,

Safe space.

Letting go now,

When you're ready and in your own time,

Opening your eyes as you continue with your day.
