Let's begin by taking a moment to settle your body in a comfortable position.
You can close your eyes gently or look down.
Just eliminate visual distractions.
Allow your spine to lift and allow your shoulders and your belly to soften,
Inviting a sense of ease into the body and in the mind.
Today we will practice cultivating motivation for accomplishment.
We begin in a seated position,
Breathing in fully and then breathing a long,
Slow breath out through the mouth.
Allow the mind to rest on your breathing,
Noticing your inhale and your exhale.
As you relax your body,
Bring to mind an area of your life where you are feeling a lack of motivation.
Perhaps it's a task or work project you've been putting off.
Maybe it's repairing a relationship issue with a loved one,
Colleague,
Or acquaintance.
Allow yourself space to clarify this one area of your life where motivation for action is lacking.
As you envision this area that lacks motivation,
Listen to these questions lightly and just see what comes up.
There's no need to problem solve,
No need to figure anything out.
Just continue to focus on your breath as you notice what thoughts arise,
Letting them pass through your mind as if carried by a gentle breeze and you simply explore and observe.
Ask yourself,
When it comes to this area,
What is my greatest aspiration?
What about this is important to me?
What might be getting in the way of me addressing this?
How do I want to show up in this area of my life?
Notice how you feel when you consider these questions and the specific sensations in your body.
Again,
There's nothing to figure out here,
Just notice what comes up for you.
Again,
Simply noticing as you ask yourself now these questions.
If this issue was in progress or completed,
What would that mean to me?
If this issue was in progress or completed,
What would that feel like?
See if you can really feel that feeling,
Allowing yourself to fully absorb it as you experience these feelings of accomplishment.
Breathe in and sense into your body,
What would it feel like to gain accomplishment in this area?
Consider how you can access this place again.
Next time you face this issue,
How can you use these feelings as a source of focus?
Can these feelings serve as a motivation for you to engage?
Finally ask yourself,
What is my intention going forward?
Let us finish with a deep,
Full breath in through the nose and a long,
Slow breath out through the mouth.
