This is a short meditation to bring your awareness to your inner strength. These few moments are a time for you to focus on and connect with the strength you possess. This is the strength that has pulled you through challenge and adversity, and brought you to this moment. This is the strength that is centered in the rhythm of your very own heartbeat.

Come into a comfortable position.

You can sit up straight on the floor with your legs crossed,

Or you can sit or lay down in a fully supported position in a chair or on a bed.

Get comfortable and take this time for you.

If it feels right to you,

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.

Breathing in deeply and exhaling completely.

Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment.

Allow your thoughts and your body to be right here,

Right now.

Let it all catch up to being in this moment.

Now bring your attention to your chest.

If it feels right,

Put your hands on your chest,

Pressing gently.

Take this moment to consider your strength and the possibility that your chest is the epicenter of that strength,

In spite of what you've been through.

In spite of the challenges that you've experienced,

Some way,

Somehow,

The strength and the center of your being has brought you to this moment.

Consider the power of that,

The power of any suffering,

Any striving that was no match to your strength.

Continue to breathe and hold that energy between your hands and your chest.

Reconnecting again with the epicenter of your strength in your chest.

From that space,

Notice what thoughts may come into your mind.

If these thoughts are not empowering,

If they're attempting to pull you away from your awareness,

Of your strength,

Gently turn your mind away from them.

Let them go and bring your attention back to your chest.

Maybe you notice your heart beating beneath your hand.

Another sign of your own presence in this moment,

Grounding,

Steady.

Strength and courage.

And now,

Take one more moment to gather that strength and courage and consider how you will face this day.

No matter what comes your way,

You're grounded in the feeling of your hand on your chest and the sensation of your heart beating beneath that hand.

Now taking just a few more deep breaths,

Inhaling deeply and exhaling completely.

Slowly,

Slowly begin to consider opening your eyes if you close them and bringing your attention back to the room.

I really enjoyed this! I am a nurse and I am being asked to do more and more everyday. Remembering my strength and power that brought me to this point where so many can depend on me to be a leader helps me. Knowing my strength and power quiets the self doubt.

The most relaxed and calm 7 minutes I've had in a long time. I love the backing track, it made me feel like I was lay by a stream on a warm spring day
