Hello again and welcome back.
This meditation will give you the knowledge and motivation to improve your brain power to the degree that you wish and you will find it amazingly easy and enjoyable to do so.
To begin,
Make yourself comfortable,
Close your eyes,
And take a slow deep breath in,
Feel the breath filling up your lungs,
And then slowly exhale.
Take one more deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Let yourself sink into relaxation,
Your mind is becoming quiet,
And you find yourself easily letting go of worries,
Doubts,
And fears.
This is your time to simply be.
Now bring your focus to your heart space,
And allow your heart to open and expand as you fully receive the following words.
Your mind's capacity is infinite,
And in order to benefit from this unlimited supply of information,
You are about to learn how to improve your own brain power,
Which your subconscious mind draws upon for its source of information.
The human brain contains 50 billion to 200 billion neurons,
Each of which is thought to interact with between 1,
000 and 100,
000 other neurons,
At the very least,
So based on this information,
It is easy to see where the theory was formed that we use only one tenth of our actual brain power,
However,
The truth is that we actually use far more than 10% of our brain,
But we do not always use it effectively.
Neural nerve cells originally developed in jellyfish and sea anemone as a response to a need to coordinate movement in order to find food,
Giving them a tremendous advantage over the sponges that waited brainlessly for their lunch to arrive.
This tells us that movement is part of the key to improving your brain power.
Before you were born,
You created neurons,
The brain cells that communicate with each other,
They grew at the rate of 15 million per hour,
Until by the time you emerged from your mother's womb,
Your brain contained about 100 billion neurons that intertwined into the vast networks that integrated with your nervous system.
Each learning experience that you encountered during that time strengthened your mind-body communication and will continue to do so if given the stimulation it needs.
You can strengthen your neural connections and even create new ones,
All with the power of your mind,
And I'd like you to use your wonderful imagination now and focus on your little finger.
If you are right-handed,
Then I'd like you to focus on your left little finger,
And if you are left-handed,
Then you can focus on your right little finger.
Now imagine that little finger massaging a certain area of your brain that you'd like to use more of.
This part of your brain could be the part that takes in new information,
Or it could be a creative part of your brain,
Or a part that reasons.
In fact,
It can be any part of your brain that you like,
All you need to do is to think of the area in your life that you'd like to improve.
It could be the part of your brain that is responsible for your short-term memory,
Or your long-term memory.
Good.
Now really focus on the image of that part of your brain being gently massaged,
Round and round,
Easily,
Effortlessly,
Stimulating and encouraging that muscle to move and learn more.
Continue to do this for the next few moments,
While I'm quiet.
Every time you enter into a meditation,
You can either mentally stimulate the same area of your brain,
Or you can choose another part.
It is entirely your choice,
And you will find that whichever area you decide on,
It will grow stronger and stronger.
Gently stimulating your brain in this way is your first step to improving your brain power.
The second step is to do different things.
Change your routine,
Practice writing with your non-dominant hand,
Brush your teeth with your eyes closed,
Combine sensations such as listening to music while smelling flowers or herbs,
Take a different route to the shops or to work,
Watch the clouds as you sing.
It really doesn't matter what you do,
Just as long as you are doing something different to what you normally do.
You will find that your subconscious mind can provide you with so many different ideas.
People are creatures of habit,
And once these habits have been established,
We tend to stick with them and stop learning new things.
Changing your habits can greatly improve your brain power,
And your brain power is improving day by day.
Very soon,
You notice a difference in the way that you process information,
A difference in the way that you think and respond,
And these differences are all due to your improved brain power.
You are now training your brain,
And your brain responds in a positive way,
Which makes you feel good.
Every day,
You spend a quiet time where you focus on your breathing.
You breathe slowly and evenly,
In through the nose,
Counting to three,
And out through the mouth.
You might even find yourself repeating this exercise at different periods in your day,
And this breathing creates a state of mindful awareness.
You are getting in touch with your wonderful subconscious mind.
You really want to improve your brain power,
And by wanting to,
You have already begun your journey,
A wonderful journey that you really want to continue on for the rest of your life.
Exercise plays a vital part in improving your brain power.
The word exercise is derived from a Latin root that means to maintain,
To keep,
To ward off,
To exercise means to practice,
Put into action,
Train,
Perform,
Use,
And improve.
Walking as little as 20 minutes a day can help stimulate your brain and reduce your risk of life-threatening diseases.
As people,
We were designed to walk,
And your desire to walk and to move your body grows stronger and stronger,
Day by day,
For the more you use your body,
The healthier and happier it is.
Exercise releases the endorphins in your brain,
Those natural and wonderful little chemicals that make you feel so good,
And the better you feel,
The more able you are to learn and improve your brain power,
And your brain power is increasing moment by moment.
You become so much more interested in things you previously cared little about.
You enjoy learning,
Experiencing life,
Keeping your brain active by reading,
Solving puzzles,
Working out problems,
Doing things differently,
Thinking outside of the box,
And these suggestions are firmly embedded in your subconscious mind and grow stronger and stronger,
Day by day.
They grow stronger by the day,
Stronger by the hour,
Stronger by the minute.
You are learning,
Living,
And loving every moment of it.
When you are ready to end this meditation,
Bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings,
Open your eyes,
And smile.
This is Mary Freeth,
Wishing you a beautiful day,
We'll see you again soon.
