Welcome to Marshall's Meditation.
I'm Marshall and today we're going to focus our meditation around allowing as a way of finding deeper peace within ourselves.
So if you found a comfortable seat,
We can begin.
We can begin this meditation with our eyes open or closed.
I prefer to have my eyes closed.
We can do an initial scan of the body from the top of the head,
Slowly down.
If we feel slightly uncomfortable,
We can get adjusted right now.
Bring that awareness all the way down to the feet.
Very good.
So now let's bring our awareness to our breath.
We're not trying to develop a deeper,
Smoother or more relaxed breath.
We are just observing for now.
And we'll just merely observe the breath,
Feeling it,
Feeling the motion,
The rocking of the breath.
And this is where our meditation on allowing can begin.
We don't need to do anything to our breath.
Breath seems to be breathing itself.
Let's just watch that.
We'll watch the breath breathing itself.
And as we watch,
We can also notice that the mind is still going.
Let's just let the mind go,
Just like a breath.
We can just notice how the mind keeps moving like the breath,
All on its own.
And maybe we can feel the heart beating,
Which is also the body just taking care of itself.
In fact,
All the functions of the body are taking care of themselves right now.
So we can just rest here.
We don't need to do anything while we're meditating for this time.
We can meditate in the knowledge that the circulation is happening and we're putting oxygen into that circulation and the bloodstream and the skin is growing and the cells are dying away as well.
And our hair is growing as well as our fingernails and toes.
We need not do anything right now.
It's all being taken care of.
Still perhaps digesting our food.
The eyes are kept lubricated and all the chemicals and hormones in the body moving all without our intention.
Taking care of life.
Let's sink in a little bit deeper into the feeling we don't need to be doing anything right now.
In fact,
We can allow the mind to move,
Our emotions to be as they are.
Even some of the tension that we may find in the body,
Just let it be,
Just as it is.
And we can also notice that our living biological body is not just taking care of itself for us,
The biological body of everyone that we know in this very moment.
And of course,
Everyone we don't know all over this world in this very moment.
And of course,
This feature isn't specific to human beings.
Every creature on earth,
From the largest mammals,
To the smallest insects,
To the fish and creatures of the ocean,
To the birds,
Even down to single cell.
Organisms.
All the basic life function taking care of itself through every entity,
Animal,
Human being.
And of course,
Where would we be without the plants who put oxygen back into the air as a life force,
A living force that grows without effort.
And the movement of the weather,
The winds and the clouds and the rains which feed the plants and feeds the animals.
All of life just taking care of itself without our effort to maintain it in this moment.
And in fact,
The spinning of the world as we orbit the sun,
The sun shining down on earth without our effort.
And in fact,
All the planets and stars moving without our effort.
The entire cosmos in harmonious motion taking care of itself as we rest here.
Now let's bring our awareness back to the body.
Back to the breath once again.
Let's bring our awareness up to our eyes.
And if they're not already open,
We can gently open them.
And relax for a moment in this state of peace.
A little bit of calm.
Well,
Thank you for joining me for our allowing meditation today.
Feel free to do this meditation of course anytime,
But also reflect perhaps throughout our days and weeks ahead of the fact that so much of life is taking care of itself.
And we can trust in that.
So until next time,
Thank you very much.
Bye bye.
