Hello.
My name is Mark Groves,
And I am an expert in the space of relationships and human connection.
And so,
As you arrive to the sound of my voice,
Just find yourself settling in your seat or laying on your back and just feeling your body connected to the earth,
Closing your eyes,
Taking a deep breath in.
Yeah,
And just arriving here in this moment.
This meditation is about separating yourself from others,
About taking your energy back and also giving other people theirs back.
Our nervous system is constantly surveying for safety,
For security,
And that comes from a really beautiful place.
Maybe the world hasn't been safe for you.
Maybe you've had relationship experiences that have left you both over-pursuing other people and leaving your own center.
Deep breath into that.
Or becoming hyper-attuned to the feelings,
Thoughts,
And emotional states of other people and not allowing yourself your own experience.
And breathing into that truth,
Too.
And as you hear my voice,
Feeling your energy stirring in your being,
Maybe putting a hand on your heart and one on your gut.
Just breathing into your hands.
And feeling the world happening around you,
Feeling the noise,
The to-do lists,
The conversations that need to happen or have happened.
Just letting all of that exist as you imagine a green orb existing around your body.
And inside that orb is only what you allow.
It's only things that bring your body peace.
And as you imagine that orb surrounding your body,
That you can see the people who hook into you,
The tasks that you have,
The addictions you may have.
Maybe it's notifications on your phone.
But you can see them outside of the green orb and inside this space is peace.
And you can feel yourself wanting to reach out of it,
To leave it.
And other people wanting to reach in.
Maybe it's to-do lists and just this constant momentum of doing,
Doing,
Doing.
And not trying to change any of that because it exists,
But rather breathing deeply into the acknowledgement of these things.
When was the last time you let yourself exist without these things hooked into you?
When was the last time that you got to keep your hypersensitivity and hypervigilance in your own being?
Recognizing that every time that you have to figure out what other people want and need,
You've put your own wants and needs second,
Third,
Or fourth.
Just breathing into that.
Recognizing the grief of that.
That as you sit or lay here with your eyes closed,
That you call your energy back.
That you could feel it like a fishing rod with the lure hooked into other people.
That you take it out and you reel it back in.
That you can feel your energy start to restore back into your body.
That as you recognize that you've let other people decide how you feel,
What you think,
What you're going to do with your life,
That you feel those recoil and move outside of the green protective layer.
That in this space,
There's a recognition of a stand that you are taking for yourself.
For the way you love,
For the way you want to live,
For the passions and dreams that you have,
For the purpose you want to step into or deepen your commitment to.
That in this space,
You can feel the ways in which that you have made your life about other people.
And as you acknowledge that,
You say,
I have so much compassion for where that comes from.
But I am ready to take my energy back.
That in some ways,
I have to mind my own business.
That in the pursuit of taking care of everyone,
I have forgotten about me.
Or even the identity that there's something wrong with me that needs to be fixed,
Resolved.
Just breathing into that.
That is your turn to take up space,
To stand in your power,
To stand in your sovereignty.
And recognizing that today,
You're going to make your way through the world as you.
Carrying this green orb around you,
Noticing the feeling in your body when someone tries to penetrate it or does.
Or when you reach outside of yourself into others.
That you become a master of balancing your own energy.
You become a master of feeling into the ways in which you violate your own values to maintain connection or you sabotage connection.
In order to protect yourself.
And recognizing that all of those things are perfect as they are.
Yet,
You desire different.
Today is the beginning of different.
Today,
You will remember yourself.
Taking a deep breath in.
Feeling the support of the earth and the energy moving up through your feet,
Through the back of your body,
Up through the top of your head.
Feeling whole,
Feeling complete.
Your body feeling enlivened,
Energized,
Vital.
Trusting you to protect and preserve your life force.
Take a deep breath in.
And just coming back to this moment.
Ready to take on this day.
Letting everyone have their energy back and you taking yours back.
