Okay,

So it's time for your yoga nidra practice,

Your practice of yogic sleep,

Inside of which you will have the opportunity to set an intention.

For now,

You should be lying on your back,

Comfortable limbs,

Double check that you're warm enough,

Be covered up,

And remain as still as you can for your yoga nidra.

Be highly present in the body,

Continuously noticing your breath.

Relax deeply in arms and legs and hands and feet.

And allow your eyes to close and keep them closed until the practice has ended.

And now let your body sink into your floor,

Your bed,

Whatever you're lying on.

See if something needs to shift or move a little.

Just let your body settle deeply into the ground.

And just know that everything is okay and nothing else matters right now.

You've chosen to take this time for this practice.

Nowhere to go,

Nothing to do.

Simply feel your body,

Listen to your body.

You're in a safe,

Protected health space,

Energetically and physically.

I invite you into deep stillness inwardly.

Notice your breath,

The rise and fall of the chest,

Even the subtle sound of the breath.

Breath is flowing through.

Allow your bones to become heavy.

Feel your bones heavy and sinking into the earth.

Release around the joints.

Allow your body to soften and relax.

Try as best you can to remain awake.

Stay with the sound of my voice.

I will be asking you to move your awareness from body part to body part.

Try not to concentrate too intensely.

Let the focus be on your relaxation.

Just absorb from this meditation what you can,

Leave the rest behind.

Keep coming back to the sound of my voice.

Now allow your awareness to travel through your body on a journey of sensation.

Simply feel into each part as it's mentioned.

No movement,

Just being present in these different parts of your body and welcome whatever sensation you come upon.

In with your mouth,

Feel your mouth.

Feel sensation in your mouth,

Your jaw,

Lips,

Upper lip,

Lower lip.

Notice where the lips touch.

Feel the inside of the mouth,

The roof of the mouth,

The space under the tongue,

Your upper teeth and gums,

Your lower teeth and gums.

Feel the root of the tongue,

The center of the tongue,

The tip of the tongue.

Notice if there's a sense of taste in your mouth.

Feel the left inner cheek,

The right inner cheek.

Feel all the parts together as a whole.

Feel your mouth as sensation,

As energy,

As radiant vibration.

Become aware of your ears,

Your right ear,

Left ear.

Feel both ears together.

Feel the wrinkles and folds of the ears,

The back of the ears,

Earlobes,

Ear canals.

Follow the ear canals into your inner ear.

Notice your ears receiving sound,

Listening.

Feel your ears hearing.

Become aware of any sounds you detect in this moment.

Just whatever you're picking up without straining.

Focus on more distant sounds.

Let your sense of hearing radiate out,

Searching out these distant sounds.

Move your attention from sound to sound.

No need to label the source,

Just notice.

Gradually bring your attention to closer sounds,

Sounds inside the room you're in.

Maybe sounds from your own body,

The sound of your breath.

Now feel your eyes,

Your left eye,

Your right eye.

Both eyes together.

Notice your eyelids.

Feel into your eyelashes.

Notice where the eyelids touch.

Become aware of the surface of the eyes,

Centers of the eyes,

The backs of the eyes.

Feel your eyes as energy,

Radiant glowing energy.

Now without opening your eyes,

Visualize the walls of the room you're in,

The ceiling,

The floor,

Your body lying on the floor or the bed.

Notice your body resting,

The position of your body,

Your clothes,

Your hair,

Your face.

Become acutely aware of the existence of your physical body resting.

Become aware of your breath now.

Just your natural spontaneous breath moving in and out of the body,

Flowing through the nostrils.

Feel the coolness of the breath on the inhale,

The warmth as you exhale.

Notice the breath inside the right nostril,

Inside the left nostril,

Inside both nostrils together.

Now let your breath become longer and slower,

Long slow inhalation all the way into the belly.

Even longer slower exhalation.

Notice the pause after the exhale.

Slow long inhale,

Even slower exhale.

Continue breathing this way,

Long deep inhales all the way into the belly,

Even longer exhales,

Relaxing the body completely.

Now come back to your natural easy rhythm of breath.

Release any control.

Begin the practice of yoga nidra.

Tell yourself inwardly,

I am practicing yoga nidra.

I will not fall asleep.

Now let your awareness enter deeply into your heart space.

Ask your heart,

What is your deepest desire?

What do you long for?

What do you need?

And let that be the inspiration for your sankalpa,

Your intention.

It's like an affirmation.

The sankalpa is a short positive statement in simple language.

I am so happy and grateful now that.

.

.

The sankalpa is like planting your affirmation,

Your manifestation,

Your vision in the fertile soil deep in the subconscious.

Say it one more time,

I'm so happy and grateful now that.

.

.

Now bring your awareness to your right hand thumb.

Feel your right hand thumb.

Now the second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

Fifth finger,

The palm of the hand,

The back of the hand,

The wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Armpit,

Waist,

Hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

Heel,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot,

Right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Now bring your awareness to your left hand thumb.

Feel the left hand thumb,

Second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

Fifth finger,

The palm of the hand,

The back of the hand,

The wrist,

The forearm,

The elbow,

The upper arm,

The shoulder,

The armpit,

The waist,

Hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

Heel,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Now go to the back of the body,

Right heel,

Left heel,

Right calf,

Left calf,

Right hamstring,

Left hamstring,

Right buttock,

Left buttock,

Lower back,

Mid back,

Upper back,

The whole of the spine,

Right shoulder blade,

Left shoulder blade,

The back of your neck,

The back of your head,

The top of the head,

Forehead,

Right temple,

Left temple,

Right ear,

Left ear,

Right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

Middle of the eyebrows,

Right eye,

Left eye,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Upper lip,

Lower lip,

Both lips together,

Chin,

Jaw,

Throat,

Right collarbone,

Left collarbone,

Right side of the chest,

Left side of the chest,

The middle of the chest,

Upper abdomen,

Belly button,

Lower abdomen,

Right side of the groin,

Left side,

The pelvic floor.

Feel your whole right leg,

Feel your whole left leg,

The whole right arm,

The whole left arm,

The whole face,

The whole head,

The torso.

Feel your whole body,

Feel the whole energy field of your body,

Feel into your body,

Become aware of your body resting,

Notice where your body is in contact with the surface you're on.

Bring your awareness to the point of contact,

Feel the heels and what you're resting on.

Both the heels are resting,

Feel the point where the heels are touching what you're resting on.

Now from the top of the body,

The head and the bed of the floor,

The back and the bed of the floor,

The right hand and the bed of the floor,

The left hand and the bed on the floor,

The right elbow,

The left elbow,

The buttocks,

The hamstrings.

Imagine the meeting point of the whole body and the floor or the bed.

The whole body is resting,

The body is resting,

Become aware of the whole body.

Now imagine in your mind that your body is becoming very,

Very heavy.

Awaken the idea of heaviness in the body.

Feel your body becoming heavier and heavier.

The head is becoming heavy,

The right palm is heavy,

The left palm is heavy,

Both arms and the shoulders are heavy,

The back is heavy,

The buttocks and the groin are heavy,

The right thigh is heavy,

The left thigh is heavy,

Both the kneecaps are heavy,

Both legs are heavy,

Both arms are heavy,

The whole head is heavy,

The eyes are heavy,

The lips are heavy,

The whole body is heavy.

Keep on feeling your body is heavy.

Intensify the feeling of weight,

Heavier and heavier.

Now feel the whole body becoming lighter and lighter.

The head is light,

So light that it can even rise from the floor.

The right and the left palms of the hands are becoming lighter,

Both arms and both shoulders are light,

The back is light,

The buttocks and groin are light,

The right thigh is light,

The left thigh is light,

The right heel and the left heel are light,

The whole body is light and weightless.

When your body is becoming weightless,

You feel as though it's rising from the floor,

As if your whole body is a feather rising lightly from the floor,

Becoming lighter and lighter.

Notice your breath.

Now we alternate between heaviness and lightness.

The whole body is now heavy like stone.

The whole body is stone.

No bones,

No blood,

No muscles,

Just stone on the floor.

The body is heavy like stone.

No bones,

No blood,

No muscles,

Heavy stone on the floor.

Now change.

The whole body is like a feather,

As light as a feather,

No substance,

Everything is composed like a feather floating off the floor.

The whole body is floating as light as a feather,

Completely weightless.
