Guided Meditation For Self-Compassion
by Maria Toso
Self-Compassion Meditation is a practice of connecting to the Divine Mother within that always holds you and loves you, no matter what. It is who you really are and this meditation will remind you of how loved and held you are. It's a return to deep self-love and compassion. As you practice this meditation regularly, you will gradually become more and more self-reliant because you will have instant access to Divine Love within. This is your return to True Love within.

Let yourself come into a restful,
Cozy,
Undisturbed place to become really intimate with yourself.
Take that deep,
Compassionate interest in what is going on for you,
With you.
What is ailing you?
Maybe you tuck yourself into bed,
Maybe you curl up on the couch with a blanket.
Find a space to become really still.
Still and attentive and present,
Caring and kind.
Allow yourself to enter into the energy field of your body with great interest,
Much like how a mommy might examine her toddler's body for ticks or bruises after a day in the woods.
To heal and to hold,
To kiss the boo-boos.
To be held,
To know that there is a safe space to return to and that safe space is you,
Your true divine essence.
So as you caringly,
Compassionately feel into yourself and speak to yourself,
Let that be divine present,
Eternal self you,
Embracing the part of you that feels alone,
That feels cut off,
That doesn't feel safe,
That does not feel like you belong or have consistent love enveloping you.
Feel your own breath.
Relax the belly deeply and invite your breath to find its way much deeper into your being,
To illuminate all the crevices,
The nooks,
The crannies and notice where you might be holding tension in your body.
Invite the places that are bracing that feels tense and feel tight to release and let go with the exhale breath.
Let your body sink into your bed,
Your couch to feel held and warm and snug.
Notice the sensation of the breath inside your nose.
Notice how sensitive the walls of the nostrils really are when you pay attention.
Notice the scent,
The temperature,
The quality of the air as you breathe in.
Feel the breath at the tip of the nose,
Through the nostrils all the way into the back of the throat and deeply into the belly.
And go with the exhale.
The exhale is your invitation to relax,
To release.
Now stay attentive to your breath,
But bring awareness into your hands and your feet at the same time.
Feel the details of your feet.
Notice how you placed your feet.
You don't have to change anything about it.
Just notice where's the right foot in space.
Where's the support of the right foot.
Feel into the soles of the feet,
The toes,
The tops of the feet.
Feel the relationship between the right and the left foot.
Can you feel the tips of your toes,
The ankles?
What does presence feel like in the feet?
What is the quality,
The energy of presence,
Of awareness?
And how does that degree of presence impact your mind?
Does your mind slow down a little bit?
Do you still feel the intricacies of the breath,
The details?
The gentle rise and fall of the breath?
The sinking,
The releasing,
The surrendering to the exhale.
Now holding awareness in the feet,
Holding awareness on the breath,
Bring the hands in now.
Become equally aware in the hands,
The palm of the hands,
The back of the hands,
The thumbs,
Index fingers,
Middle fingers,
Ring fingers,
Pinkies,
The tip of the fingers.
The complete energy field of the right hand and the left hand together.
And now hands and feet together,
Arms and legs together,
Shoulders,
Hips.
Feel the weight of your legs and the weight of your arms.
Allow your arms and your legs to give into gravity,
Become heavy and loose and soft.
Bring awareness into the torso.
Feel the pelvis,
The lower abdomen,
The belly button and the solar plexus.
Let it be okay that the body doesn't feel peaceful,
That not everywhere in the energy field of the body can relax completely,
That within the body exist anxiety,
Nervousness,
That the awareness filled the chest,
Right side and left side.
Feel the area around the throat,
The sides of the neck and the back of the neck.
Feel the whole energy field,
The shape,
The position of the body from the neck down,
Resting,
Peacefully breathing while some part of the energy field of the body is not completely peaceful.
Just notice that.
That's normal.
Let your jaw relax,
Your lips.
Feel again the inside of the nose as you breathe.
Relax the little muscles around the eyes,
Eyebrows and forehead,
Wrinkles and folds of the ears and the scalp.
Now feel this whole energy field of your physical body completely imbued with Spirit You,
Higher Self,
Eternal Infinite,
Divinely Connected You,
Illuminating every color,
Every cell,
Every single corner of the physical body illuminated,
Sparkling bright and clear.
Feel how you extend beyond the physical body.
Notice that your energy doesn't stop at the envelope of your skin.
Notice the energy beyond the skin.
Let your awareness extend beyond the envelope of the skin and enter to beyond the perimeter of your physical body.
And now a little more,
A whole foot beyond the physical body creating more space.
Getting into this expanded area around the body,
Letting the body feel light and luminous and heavy and relaxed.
The union of the light body and the physical body.
And now let your awareness be drawn to the contracted area and the energy field of the body.
Feel into the energy field of the body from the throat through the chest.
Feel into the stomach and solar plexus and down through the lower abdomen.
Relax as deeply as you can while being real about what does not feel relaxed,
What feels tense.
Now let the light of your being,
The spirit essence of you draw closer to the most contracted area in your body.
Notice where it is.
Touch with love its presence within you.
Greet it.
Softly say or think inside yourself,
I love you.
I'm here.
I've got you.
It's okay that you're scared and that you feel tight.
I'm here if you want to talk about it,
Tell me about it.
And I'm also here if you just need to be held.
Just need to feel my presence,
My love,
My devotion to you.
Say again out loud or inwardly,
I'm here.
I love you and I'm here.
I've got you.
Relax into me.
Let me hold you wholeheartedly hold you with no agenda.
I am not holding you so you will stop hurting.
I'm holding you because I love you.
I am simply holding you in love.
Unconditional a terminal infinite.
You can never lose my love kind of love.
I'm here with you.
I'm here loving you.
A love you do not have to earn.
A love you cannot lose.
I've got you.
Rest into my loving arms.
Bring my pain.
Bring your pain to me.
I will hold your pain.
Your pain will be my pain.
Your pain belongs in my arms,
My arms of love.
I've got it.
I've got you.
Feel how the energy field of the body responds to the energy of your presence,
To the energy of your love.
Just notice,
Just witness and hold and be with this part of yourself.
Give it time,
All the time it needs to trust that your love is here to stay.
I've got you.
I love you.
I'm here.
Breathe into the pain and breathe beyond the pain and exhale and relax as deeply as you can.
Imbuing,
Reassuring,
Holding,
Being with whatever hurts,
Whatever is contracted,
Whatever feels frozen,
Whatever feels scared within.
No shame,
No blame.
It's okay if you're scared.
You cannot lose my love.
Now maybe there are words.
Maybe this place within would like to tell you why it's scared,
Contracted,
Angry,
Tight.
Describe this feeling to yourself and let this feeling show you what's up.
What makes this feeling worse?
What makes it better?
I'm here.
I love you.
I'm scared because I'm angry because I'm frustrated because I'm sad because I'm concerned because I'm jealous because I'm furious because I'm angry because I'm sad because I'm angry because I'm sad because I'm sad because I'm angry because I'm sad because I'm so sorry because I'm sad because I'm sad because I'm And now send it the soothing words,
All is well.
Life is good.
I bless my life.
Grace here.
Kindness here.
Miracles here.
Abundance here.
Kindness here.
Compassion here.
Joy here.
Laughter here.
Sweetness here.
Like a sweet child,
Let yourself rest now.
Let yourself drop deeply into an awareness of the breath.
Let the body relax as deeply as you can.
Soft belly.
Soft chest.
Soft hands.
Soft feet.
Soft arms.
Soft legs.
Soft shoulders.
Soft throat.
Soft face.
Soft eyes.
Soft lips.
Soft scalp.
Soft body sinking into the bed.
Releasing,
Breathing.
All is well.
All is well.
All is well.
