The meditation ‘Your ‘IT’: Your theme’ is about tuning in to the theme that was most present last year and which wants to be looked at in the current year. You’ll tune into your breath, the sensations in your body reflect on your topic: “What situation, person or feeling needs to be looked at?”. This self-inquiry exercise is part of the journal 'Goodbye Old. Hello New.’ which is written by Marianne de Kuyper.

Hello and welcome to goodbye old,

Hello new.

And it is time to tune in.

Tune in to the theme or themes that asked for your attention last year,

The year that's behind you.

And in other words,

You could say,

What is the theme that needs to be looked at?

So what has been put in your field of attention for you to look at?

Is it a situation?

Does it have to do with a person,

An animal?

Does it have to do with a thought or a feeling?

So what kept on happening last year that was or still is asking for your attention?

Is there something that you needed to look at or maybe still need to look at?

And is this a theme that you could work with maybe during the following exercises that will be shared with you on this series of goodbye old,

Hello new?

So is there something that needs your attention,

That wants to be looked at or needed to be looked at in the year that's behind you?

And did it have to do with a situation,

A thought or a feeling?

And there might be many,

But can you choose one,

One that's most important to you,

Where you would like to create some positive changes?

So what is the theme you would like to work with that in a sense you would say,

Would like to say goodbye to and where you would like to invite in the new?

Notice what is happening inside of you.

Keep on tuning into the breath.

Keep on breathing deeply.

Keep on noticing what is present and asking for your attention and keep on tuning into the theme.

What needed to be looked at or what would you like to look at?

Maybe how?

Is a guided meditation the solution or are there other ways to approach your topic,

Your question?

So keep on tuning in,

Keep on tuning in to what is asking for your attention.

Keep on tuning into what you would like to do with it and maybe already start looking at the how and you can sit still for some more minutes.

Put the questions at the back of your mind.

Keep on noticing the breath in the body.

Keep on sensing what is most present inside of you for as long as you need to.

And when you feel ready to finish the meditation,

Breathe deeply for a few more rounds and then you open your eyes when you're ready to move into the rest of your day.
