The focus of the meditation ‘Supportive Practices’ is to answer the question: “What can I do on a daily basis to reconnect to my inner voice?”. You’ll tune into your breath, the sensations in your body and come to realize what practices you could do to find ways of being that are reassuring and comforting. This self-inquiry exercise is part of the journal 'Goodbye Old. Hello New.’ which is written by Marianne de Kuyper.

Hello and welcome to another meditation of goodbye old hello new and this one is linked to the meditation on reconnecting to your inner voice and let's begin by connecting to the breath in the body so make yourself comfortable and then tune into the movement of the breath in your body and notice the rising and the falling of the breath in your chest rib cage belly that is the expansion on your inhale and how the chest and the rib cage and belly moves down and in on your exhale and then let us look back at the question how or what maybe what could you do to reconnect to yourself on a daily basis so let us start thinking about practices that you could do that support you and help you to reconnect to yourself so how can you reconnect to yourself is it by sitting still and noticing the breath in the body like we're doing now or are there also other activities and practices that you could do that help you get present that help you notice what is going on in your body in your heart in your mind practices that help you become aware of your deepest needs and wishes so what could you do so what can you do to support yourself and help yourself to reconnect to what is most important to you but also write down and think about it what doesn't work for you anymore so what ways of being no longer work for you so what works and what doesn't work anymore for you so give it some thought and put these questions at the back of your mind and listen to answers that come up about what works for you to reconnect to yourself and what no longer works maybe served you in the past but not anymore and then stay with these thoughts for as long as you would like or when you feel like closing the meditation it's always good to take three more deep breaths in and out to close your meditation practice noticing the inhale and the exhale three more times and then whenever you're ready you open up your eyes and quietly move into the rest of your day
