Life moves quickly,
And sometimes we carry more than we notice.
Moments,
Thoughts,
Responsibilities,
They can quietly weigh on us.
This is a space to pause,
To breathe,
To set down what you've been holding.
Welcome to the Unburdening and Letting Go.
I'm Marianne DeCleer,
And thank you for joining me here today.
You'll journey through your body,
Easing tension,
And then step into a landscape of release,
Letting go of what no longer serves you.
And finally,
You'll breathe into the positive you've created,
Spreading it through every part of yourself,
Leaving you lighter,
Calm,
And renewed.
Let's settle in and prepare to unburden.
Settle into a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
And feel free to adjust it at any time in order to stay comfortable.
Let your body begin to relax,
Starting with your head.
Soften your scalp,
Your forehead,
Your eyes.
Relax your cheeks.
Unclench your jaw,
Perhaps slightly opening the mouth.
Relax your neck.
Feel the gentle slope of your shoulders and trapezius muscles easing down.
And a wave of relaxation moves down your arms,
Through your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your wrists,
And all the way down into your hands,
Into your fingertips.
Now bring your attention to your back.
Relax all the muscles along your spine,
From your upper back down to your lower back.
And with each exhale,
Allow the muscles to relax,
Soften,
And melt just a little more.
Feel your breath rising and falling along your spine.
It's like a slow elevator of air,
Rising and falling.
And now bring your attention to the front of your body.
Notice the calm rhythm of your breath in your chest,
Your ribcage gently opening and closing,
Relaxed.
Your diaphragm softens with each inhale and exhale.
And even if it doesn't feel that way right now,
Just notice the movement without judgment.
Allow your belly to unwind and let go,
No need to hold anything in.
Make space for your breath to move more freely.
And notice your whole upper body,
Relaxed.
Now move down into your pelvis,
Relax the hips,
The glutes.
Soften the muscles along your thighs,
All around your thighs.
Relax the gentle curve of your knees,
Your shins and calves,
Your ankles,
And your feet right down to your toes.
Feel your whole lower body soften and relax,
Completely at ease.
And now widen your awareness to sense your entire body,
Resting,
Calm,
Relaxed.
Let your awareness gently sweep up and down your body and feel this physical state of releasing and letting go.
And in the space of letting go,
I invite you to imagine a landscape,
A mountainous region,
A volcanic terrain.
See it taking shape in your mind.
You're standing at the base of a volcano.
The slopes are dry,
Rugged.
A winding path lies ahead of you,
And you see it zigzagging through the rocks towards the crater.
And notice how the hardened lava varies in color from deep red to black in this desert-like landscape.
And there,
Beside the path,
You discover a large bag.
It's meant for you.
It's here to help you let go of whatever you no longer need.
Think of the past year,
Maybe recent months,
Of any unfinished tasks,
Stresses at work or at home,
Maybe repetitive thoughts,
Negative projections,
Fears,
Or perhaps worries that take up too much space.
And imagine placing them into the bag,
Like dusty boxes or old files,
Heavy things that you've been carrying for too long.
And once you've placed everything inside,
Lift or drag the bag,
Depending on its weight,
And begin your zigzagging climb towards the crater.
Feel the heaviness of everything you've been carrying as you walk.
Step by step,
You become more aware of the need to let go.
The higher you climb,
The more your body feels the weight,
Reinforcing the desire to release and lighten.
You continue climbing.
The last few steps may feel the hardest,
And this challenge helps strengthen your decision to release,
To free yourself,
And to let go.
At last,
You arrive at the edge of the crater.
Take a moment to look into its depth.
The volcano is resting for now,
There's a faint glow deep inside.
You take your bag and make the decision to throw its contents into the crater,
Piece by piece or all at once,
Your choice.
Take your time as you throw the contents of your bag into the crater.
The volcano begins to respond,
And some flames start rising,
Safely under your control.
And they burn away every worry,
Every fear,
Every stress or obsessive thought,
Until nothing remains but ash.
See it.
Feel it.
Notice the sensation of release and unburdening as everything you no longer need disappears.
Feel the liberation,
The space you've created.
Notice how your breath responds,
Perhaps like a sigh of relief.
And once the process is complete,
The volcano gently returns to rest,
And you feel better.
You feel lighter.
And you decide to begin your descent down the other side of the volcano.
It's a side where nature is awakening.
Brighter colors appear in the burgeoning vegetation.
A new landscape opens before you,
Filled with a sense of freedom.
You feel brighter and clearer.
Take a few moments to fully experience this state of being.
Allow this positive state to take hold within you.
Deeply inhale this positive state through your nose,
And on the exhale through your mouth,
Imagine spreading it to every cell in your body.
And let's do that a second time.
Take a deep breath in through your nose to breathe in this positive state.
Exhale through your mouth to spread it to every muscle,
Tissue,
And cell in your body.
One last time at your own pace.
And now,
Gently prepare to return to the space you're in.
Imagine the room or the area that you're in and all its elements.
Open your ears and listen to the sounds around you,
And then begin by moving your hands and feet and other parts of your body in whatever way feels good.
You can stretch,
Yawn,
Sigh.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
Take a moment while you're still in this state of relaxation to think about what feelings,
Sensations,
Or images came up for you during this relaxation and visualization.
And remember that you can come back to this recording any time you want to unburden yourself and let go of anything you've been carrying around for too long.
Thank you once again for being here and for your participation in the unburdening and letting go.
