Hi,

This is Manal.

Welcome to honoring your grieving and mourning meditation.

The intention of this meditation is to empower you to honor your grieving and mourning process.

To become aware,

Acknowledge,

Appreciate and release the energy associated with loss.

Letting go of stories that do not serve you and cultivating a feeling of relief,

Self-compassion and love towards your experience.

Mourning and grieving are a natural part of the human experience.

The process may be invoked by the loss of a loved one,

The end of a relationship or any other significant,

Controlled or uncontrolled change to life.

The feelings of grieving and mourning may be invoked by a perceived major or minor loss or change.

It is irrelevant what may have provoked these feelings,

As it does not serve you to judge yourself or the trigger as significant or insignificant to cause the grieving and mourning.

First world problems is a term and a concept that does not serve or honor the unfolded.

It is irrelevant how long ago the loss or change may have been.

What you feel and what you are feeling is what is relevant.

The intention of life is to honor this emotional experience.

To honor the multi-dimensional elements of these emotions,

Which may progress in stages and provide a context to offer you self-relief,

Compassion,

Acceptance and love.

You will likely feel different feelings at different stages,

Denial,

Isolation,

Anger,

Depression,

Accept all stages.

Resist the urge to label,

Judge or dissect while honoring the range of emotions your body is experiencing.

If you are listening to this meditation and also supporting your loved ones through their grieving and mourning practice,

Apply the same principles.

Honor their process,

Avoid the temptation to apply stories such as this will be forever or life is so hard and support with compassion while avoiding the tendency to be sympathetic or empathetic.

And let us begin.

We will begin with three grounding breaths.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Take a deep breath in and let it all out.

At this point,

Start becoming aware of your body.

Become aware,

Connect.

Connect with the physical sensations that are running through your body.

Become aware of resistance.

This may be in the form of emptiness,

Tightness,

Numbness or heaviness.

Feel into your body,

Feel into the sensations.

Become aware as a third person observing your body.

Accept and honor all of the sensations.

Much of the pain associated with mourning is the resistance to this feeling.

Be open to any messages that you may receive from your body.

I will pause a moment to give you the opportunity to feel into your body.

Acknowledge any messages that you may have received from your body.

Let your resistance know that you feel it and see it and hear it.

Messages may be in the form of emotions.

Emotions in this area may feel like shock,

Disbelief,

Sadness,

Anger.

Hopelessness,

Fatigue,

Maybe even guilt.

Much of the resistance may be in the heart feelings of heaviness and emptiness.

Messages may be in the form of color or image of a situation,

Incident or person.

Acknowledge the messages from your body.

Trust your body will show you what you need to know,

Either now or later when you are ready.

Appreciate the messages.

The intention here is to relax into this resistance.

Take time to truly appreciate the sensations.

The messages.

The emotions.

The situations.

The loss.

The changes.

Pain is an opportunity for growth and expansion.

In the case of resistance related to loss,

In the case of resistance related to loss,

It is an opportunity to reflect and celebrate life in a manner that you may have started taking for granted.

And now,

After becoming aware,

Acknowledging and appreciating,

Release,

Release,

Release,

Expel all of this resistance.

Let it all go.

Surrender your pain to the universe.

If you are not sure,

Trust that your intention will release all the resistance.

Take a deep breath in.

And release.

Take a deep breath in.

And release.

Take a deep breath in.

And release.

Connect with your heart.

Many feel an emptiness or a hole in their heart due to the loss.

Connect with any feelings,

Including emptiness or the feeling of loss.

Refill your heart with relief,

Self-compassion,

Acceptance,

And love.

Imagine the beautiful,

Universal divine light filling your heart with light.

Imagine all emptiness and holes to be filled with universal light of relief,

Compassion,

And love.

There may be emptiness from previous losses.

Fill your heart with loving energy.

Shower your heart with loving,

Compassionate light.

Take a deep breath and imagine the beautiful,

Universal light showering your body.

And take a deep breath and fill your body with the universal light of love.

And release.

Take a deep breath and fill your body with the universal light of acceptance.

And release.

And release.

Take a deep breath and fill your body with the universal light of trust.

Honor the process.

Honor your process.

Honor your feelings.

Surrender to your bodily sensations.

Recognize that this loss may have also impacted your projection of your future.

Recognize your future has always been unknown.

The only known is the now.

Return to the present moment.

Connect with your now and release projections of your future.

Remain in the now.

Your grieving and mourning will run its course and will end at the time that is right for you.

Trust that all the unfolding is for your highest good.

Even during your mourning process,

It is natural.

It is a natural human experience.

Become aware of your thoughts.

Limiting thoughts which may project these feelings to be forever or feelings of hopelessness.

Recognize that you are supported.

Life is unfolding as it is meant to be.

Celebrate the cycle of life.

Celebrate your humanness.

This is life.

Accept.

Surrender.

Trust.

Be loving and compassionate during this time.

Recognize that it is a time to nurture yourself and to allow your soul,

Heart and mind to recalibrate to your new now.

Take a deep breath in of relief.

And release.

Take a deep breath in of self-compassion.

And release.

Take a deep breath of acceptance.

Release.

Release and take a deep breath of love.

Release.

Bathe yourself in a universal love and light.

Light of relief,

Light of self-compassion,

Light of acceptance and light of love.

Recognize that life is a cycle.

Surrender yourself to the unfolding of life.

Surrender yourself to your growth.

Surrender.

Shower yourself with universal healing light.

Imagine this beautiful light showering and going through your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet,

Providing rich and healing and loving light.

Once again,

If you are unsure,

Trust your intention.

Trust your intention.

Shower your full body with universal light,

Light of relief,

Light of compassion,

Light of acceptance and light of love.

Your body is a powerful light.

We are built with an amazing ability to heal.

Celebrate and appreciate the strength,

Beauty,

Resilience and miracle of the human body.

This meditation came to me right when I needed it. I'll be returning to it whenever I feel stuck or frustrated with my grieving process. It will remind me to be compassionate and patient with myself during my journey. I also really appreciate how inclusive it is because it acknowledges you can grieve anything that has come to an end, not just death or a romantic breakup. So thank you.

Thank you for this comforting and reassuring meditation. Our 4 year old son passed away suddenly in his sleep a couple months ago but we still have a 17 month old daughter to be here for. It’s been challenging balancing honoring my grief while being present in the now for her as a mom. We’re hanging in there as best we can and trying to trust that we’re going to get through this.

Hi All, I hope you are inspired by this at such sensitive moment for you. I was inspired to share these concepts as three friends were struggling, one due to the loss of her father, one the passing of her cat, and one the end of a relationship. Despite the significant differences in the catalyst for their pain, they all expressed their sorrow in a similar way. I pray this provides relief to you and your loved ones 🙏🏽
