Join me together as we reflect honestly on our day with compassion and intention. The "10th Step" of The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (or another fellowship program) is an amazing tool that anyone can use to slow racing thoughts and help you stay in integrity. This track is intended to be used nightly to help guide you from a busy day into a restful sleep. You may also choose to do the reflection and then finish there. I recommend making notes to help you notice blind spots and make quantum leaps in your life. I hope you enjoy this meditation and have a restful and soothing sleep. Blessings -Madi

Good evening friends.

I'm going to record this meditation so that you can repeat it nightly if you choose.

So if you're not too sure if a 10th step reflection is for you,

You can check out the description of this meditation and see if you'd like to try.

10th steps is an amazing way to reflect non-judgmentally on our day and to experience that emotional sobriety,

Even if you're not practicing total sobriety right now,

But to really restore that inner peace and sanity,

That self-love,

That spirituality,

That connectedness.

I truly believe when done right it can help with insomnia and help us to rest better each night.

In 1st Corinthians 4 verse 4,

Paul says,

My conscious is clear but that does not make me innocent.

So what we'll do is clear that shame out,

Stay humble so we're not avoiding or bypassing our patterns,

Yet we're staying completely present,

Knowing that in the present there is nothing to feel guilty about.

You are one with God.

You are loved.

You are perfect.

Let's take a few deep breaths together.

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

In through the nose,

Big belly breath.

Start to connect to your body,

To the thinking mind.

Two more big breaths.

One more.

Hold at the top,

Relax everything,

Let go.

I'm going to read a question and give you a few moments to reflect.

You can also speak aloud if it feels safe.

Sometimes talking can help resolve the thoughts a little bit more.

Was I resentful today?

Was I resentful today?

Did I hold a grudge against someone or something for a real or imagined injustice?

Remember there's no right or wrong,

Just noticing.

Was I resentful today?

Good,

Deep breath and letting that go.

Was I dishonest today?

Was I dishonest to myself or to others today?

Satya,

Deep breath.

Did I promptly admit when I was wrong today?

Did I promptly admit when I was wrong today?

Try to avoid thinking of many days ago.

The more you do this practice,

The easier it will be to maintain each day to think only of this moment.

Just noticing where you could have taken accountability or gotten more humble today.

Deep breath,

Letting all of that go and asking yourself,

Do I owe someone an apology?

Do I owe somebody an apology?

In the book of Matthew,

It speaks on having a resentment or needing to apologize and when you go to make that conscious contact with God,

It says,

Pause right there.

Well,

It actually says,

Leave your gift there in front of the altar.

First go and be reconciled.

Sometimes things seem small but they put a wedge between us and our higher power,

Whatever that means to you.

That inner peace,

That stillness,

That unconditional love,

All for these little grievances.

It may even feel appropriate to pause and make a quick phone call or send a text.

Take a deep breath.

Did I do or say something today out of fear?

Did I operate from a place of fear today?

Fear of rejection,

Fear of the unknown,

Fear of failure,

Fear of pain,

Of loss,

Fear of poverty,

Fear of sickness or death.

Without making fear the bad guy,

Just noticing how often we do or say things from a place of fear.

Is there something that I did not do or say out of fear?

Maybe you didn't speak up.

You didn't take action out of fear.

Notice any sensation in the body here.

Maybe there's still some fear lingering,

Breathing into wherever that might be in the body.

Reminding the nervous system that you're completely safe right now.

You're completely safe right now.

Have I kept something to myself which should be discussed with another person at once?

Have I kept something to myself which should be discussed at once?

It may also be appropriate to pause here and to handle that.

It is not your job to carry burdens and fears and worries for others.

It is not your job to keep secrets for yourself or others.

This is emotional health.

Good.

Deep breath.

Did I think today of what I could do for others?

Did I think today of what I could do for others?

Was I kind and loving toward all today?

Was I kind and loving today?

All means others.

Others that trigger you.

Others you love.

It also means yourself.

Did I reach out to someone in recovery or someone who's struggling to see how they were doing?

Have I reached out to anyone to see how they were doing today?

And finally,

Did I take the time to connect with my higher power through prayer or meditation today?

Did I take the time to connect with my higher power through prayer or meditation today?

If you haven't and you'd like to stay here,

We will ease into sleep together with prayer and intention.

Otherwise,

Your tenth step is now complete and you can exit this meditation.

Take a moment to check in with your body,

Allowing yourself to let go of the reflection of the day.

Let go of any to-do lists for tomorrow.

Imagine placing them all on your bedside table,

Knowing that your angels will hold on to them and remind you of them when it's time.

See if you can get five or ten percent more comfortable.

Take that extra moment to fluff your pillow,

To support your lower back,

To prepare the room,

The temperature,

Your water.

Maybe you like to burn some Palo Santo or put on some essential oils,

Some lavender before drifting off to sleep.

Make this bedtime routine a beautiful,

Loving ritual so the body remembers when it's time to rest.

Let's pray to the divine together.

You may use any languaging that you prefer.

I'll say God,

But feel free to replace that word if you like.

God,

I pray that you would send armies of angels to guard and guide each individual that is listening now.

Protect them,

Their household,

And their city while they sleep soundly tonight.

May they receive physical rest,

Mental rest,

And spiritual clarity.

God,

Use their dreams to speak to them,

To show them what it is that they need to see.

Help them to remember only what is necessary to integrate into their lives.

I pray that the presence of unconditional love would be in the room with them now,

That it would settle like sand at the bottom of the ocean,

Gravity holding us to the earth.

Would it be your arms wrapped around us that each person would feel so safe,

Seen,

Appreciated.

And we thank you God for all of the blessings today.

Thank you for this opportunity to reflect,

To be better each day,

To be more like you,

To be more in tune with you,

With the higher voice,

With that alignment that we may receive and experience more synchronicities.

Thank you for your endless grace,

For presence.

Help us to learn to become more present and to notice our character defects in the moment that they occur.

Help us not to foster or carry any shame,

But to boast in our faith for our future which is in your hands.

I pray for physical healing tonight,

For each person listening,

For their family members,

Their co-workers,

Their friends,

And anyone who might be needing it.

I pray that you would lay your holy hands and do what only you can do.

Thank you God.

Heal hearts that are broken,

Restore those who have been torn down,

Who are feeling hopeless.

Uplift the humble.

Bless those who wait patiently.

Help our families to heal together.

Take this moment to pray for anyone specifically that you would like to send extra support to.

Saying their name and imagining a white light surrounding them that they may receive this loving,

Soothing,

Healing energy.

Grateful for who they are in your life.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Amen.

Beautiful job.

Letting everything get heavy now.

Relaxing the muscles in the forehead,

In the jaw,

Letting the shoulders fall down the back and the ears get heavy.

Imagine a gentle loving touch on your chest.

Imagine your body filling up with this loving,

Soft,

Warm energy.

Give yourself permission to receive it.

You are so wonderful and precious.

You deserve rest.

Imagine a gentle touch by your feet.

Pulling out any excess tension.

All the way from the head to the bottoms of the feet.

Just pulling this energy out of the feet.

Every exhale you feel that release even more.

And then we just start to brush your aura with a soft feather.

Wiping away any excess thoughts.

Letting the mind drift to the dream state where things start to mesh together.

Feeling warm and loved.

Humming a lullaby.

You are safe.

You are loved.

You are blessed.

Sleep well,

My friend.

This is one of my favorite meditations to listen to. Aside from taking an inventory - I can reflect on my day in a compassionate, mindful way. I love the humming!
