Just as you're doing your initial check-in,

What's going on in your physical body?

Could you relax your shoulders,

Deepen your breath?

And then we become aware of that energy in our body.

The sensations are part of that.

The sense perceptions for sure.

We notice if we're hot or cold.

We notice the air on our skin or the clothes on our skin.

The movement of our body as we breathe.

What does that feel like?

And there's the subtle energy of that as well.

If our breath is really calm and smooth,

It feels different in our body.

So if you're aware of your whole entire body from head to toes,

Even if it's kind of a concept at the beginning,

The field of energy in the body.

What does it feel like energetically in the eyebrow center,

In the jaw,

Your throat center,

Your heart center?

And of course,

There's all of the sensations and energy that aren't in one of those specific points as well.

So we're just noticing what does it feel like energetically right now in your body?

Your arms and legs feel restless.

Do they feel relaxed and happy to be still?

What's going on in your arms and legs as well?

So we can have this wide focus of our whole body and the energy that's different in various parts of the body.

Or we can really focus in on a specific point.

So even when you're focusing in on a specific place like the heart center,

Notice the whole body is still here.

It's really a matter of where we're putting our attention.

So our attention can be on our whole entire body and that net of energy,

The energy field in the body.

And if we have some kind of intensity anywhere in the body,

Like sometimes we'll have a heavy feeling in our chest or it'll be some kind of a clenched kind of energy in our teeth or our jaw.

It's very,

Very common to have a feeling like a shield in the back of our neck and shoulders.

So we could tune in directly to that.

So just for a moment,

Go to the place in your body where the energies feel strongest.

And notice with your attention directly on that,

What does it feel like?

How would you describe that energy?

And then notice if it has a sharp boundary,

It's more common for it to just kind of taper off.

But at some point,

Whether it's still in your body or whether it's someplace outside of your body,

That energy stops.

So notice,

Put your attention on the space on the outside of the energy.

And notice that that space doesn't have that particular energy in it.

It might have a different kind of energy,

It might be kind of blank.

So we're really working with the subtle body.

We have our physical body,

That's the bones and guts.

And we have our energy body,

The field of energy that's our body.

So with that in mind,

Notice your forehead and eyebrows.

Relax the physical forehead and eyebrows,

The corners of your eyes,

Your mouth and jaw,

Vocal cords.

Now on a more subtle level in the mouth and jaw,

We could be looking at speech,

What we want to say,

What we don't feel safe to say,

We might be planning what to say.

And so when we're doing a practice like this,

We're consciously letting go of all of that activity,

Letting our sense of speech be at rest.

Moving back again to the shoulders,

Upper back,

The neck,

That whole area,

Let that soften.

And energetically,

Generally in the back of the neck and shoulders,

The upper back,

What we would let go of energetically is the need to protect ourselves,

The need for a shield through the back of our body.

So if that resonates with you,

You could let that go mentally as well.

And that's very much coordinated with the physical body.

So as you relax your shoulders,

The energy might start to soften a bit too.

Or maybe we'd become aware of it in a different way.

Coming into the chest and the stomach area.

Notice your breath and notice how your body moves with your breath.

And then bring your attention to your whole body once again.

Include your arms and legs,

Your hands and feet.

Notice if there's something in your body that you could shift or soften or relax a bit more.

And then bring your attention to the whole of your subtle body,

The energy field.

And to the eyebrow center to start,

That energy center just behind the forehead,

In the middle of the brain.

If you were to say your name silently in your mind,

Notice where that place is and put your attention there.

Let's rest with nothing to do.

We're just putting your attention on the eyebrow center.

You might notice your forehead and eyebrows.

You might notice your mind has wandered somewhere.

Just bring your attention back.

If your mind works best with the visual,

You could visualize a candle flame without the candle.

Just this pure flame.

And even though our mind generally goes towards movement,

During this practice we're going towards stillness.

That's right in the area of the head where thought comes and goes.

We can watch thought,

We can notice the qualities of thought.

We could be doing all of that.

And if thought comes up,

Then maybe it would be good to check in and watch thought for a moment.

Notice the gaps between thoughts.

And then coming back to resting,

Just all of our attention.

Resting in the eyebrow center and perhaps with that flame from a candle.

Very narrow focused attention at the moment.

And then open your awareness,

The lens,

So that you're noticing your whole body again.

Head to toes.

And then back to the eyebrow center.

And now down to the throat center,

The pit of the throat.

We're noticing this in the subtle body,

The field of energy that's in this space that our body is occupying.

We're focusing right now on the throat center and letting our attention,

All of our attention,

Rest in the throat center.

Notice your felt sense of the throat center.

And the visual here is a brilliant full moon.

You can work with the visual or the sensation or both,

But not to struggle with it.

Let it be effortless,

Whatever your mind is drawn to.

There's not a lot to occupy the mind when we're doing this.

If your mind goes off into thought,

Gives us an opportunity to be kind,

Patient,

Remind ourselves and recommit ourselves to the practice.

What's right now is sitting in stillness and silence in the throat center.

A brilliant full moon.

And noticing the energy in the whole of your body from head to toes.

Letting your perspective widen for a bit.

But our main focus is the full moon at the throat center and resting in the stillness there.

Training our mind not to go after the movement,

But to focus in on the stillness.

Stay in the rider's exercise.

Get the energy and get the mind.

And bring your attention down to the heart center.

The spiritual heart center right in the center of your chest,

Just ahead of your spine.

And the visual here is a warm golden light.

If you were to expand your attention again to your whole body from head to toes and the space that your body is occupying,

The energy field in that space.

You would notice the eyebrow center and the throat center as well.

And all of the other energy fields in that space.

And all of the other energy and sensation in the body.

And then we're letting our attention really settle.

A warm golden light at the heart center.

And then we're letting our attention really settle.

A warm golden light at the heart center.

And we're paying attention to the stillness and letting the movement be in the background if there is any.

All of our attention focused on the heart center.

And that warm golden light that radiates from the heart center through the whole of our body,

Through the whole of that energy field.

Let yourself bathe in the stillness and in the golden light,

Warm,

Nourishing.

Let yourself bathe in the stillness and in the golden light,

Warm,

Nourishing.

Let yourself bathe in the stillness and in the golden light,

Warm,

Nourishing.

We're restoring ourselves through resting.

You're resting in the stillness.

And at times we can broaden our focus to include the whole of our body.

The energy in the body from head to toes.

The flame of light at the eyebrow center.

Brilliant full moon at the throat center.

And the warm golden glow of light at the heart center.

And focusing and resting in the stillness.

And focusing and resting in the stillness.

A deep peaceful rest. It ended a kind of abrupt, I was waiting for more 'lights' in other centers ✨😉

A restorative practice. I liked working with the image of the flame (without a candle).
