Chakra Visualization Practice For Deep Inner Stillness
by Lynn Fraser
This guided chakra visualization is a gentle journey through the seven energy centers. You will visualize each chakra in your hands, place it in the body, and follow the flow of energy along the central sushumna channel. The practice invites spacious awareness and a calm presence as you work with color, mantra, and subtle sensation. It supports inner clarity and connection with your spiritual nature. You are encouraged to move slowly, notice what arises, and rest in stillness as the practice unfolds. This session offers a contemplative way to explore the subtle body and deepen your sense of inner light.

Our energy body is formed with these chakras,
The wheels of energy.
We're going to start with our hand out in front of us and we're going to visualize that chakra on our hand.
Then we're going to bring that visualization and place it in our body in the location of the chakra.
If the visual is too much for you,
Just bring your attention into that location in your body.
We're going to go from the root chakra up through the sahasrara,
The lotus on the crown.
Let's start by visualizing our whole body and the energy field of our body.
As we're imagining that energy field,
We might notice the space the body is occupying.
There's sensation and energy in that space.
Use the sense of touch to locate your body because we're going to be going right into locations in the body.
Bring your awareness to your breath in your nostrils and notice the sensations in your physical body.
Let your breath be even and smooth,
Continuous.
Let your awareness flow now from the eyebrow center behind the forehead to the base of the nose where the nostrils meet the upper lip until you have kind of a sense of the flow of that.
Let your awareness flow all the way up into the eyebrow center and then back down to the base of the nose.
And let your mind really focus on this moment and on the practice.
Let go of thoughts,
Other times,
Other places.
And now bring your awareness into the top of your head,
To the crown chakra,
Sahasrara.
And there's a channel,
An energy channel that runs from the top of the head through to the root chakra.
In the middle of the body,
Sometimes people think about it as a thin empty tube,
Or you might think of it as a thin stream of light,
Or an energy flow.
Let yourself breathe up and down through that channel for a moment,
From the crown of the head to the root chakra.
And on another breath,
From the root chakra to the ground.
And then bring your hands up in front of you,
Whatever is comfortable.
Your hands are in front of your body.
Muladhara chakra,
Which is the root chakra,
The seed for the bij mantra in that area is lam.
As you're focusing on that,
Imagine that there's a yellow object in your hands,
And it has four red petals,
It's a yellow color.
And listen to the sound,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam.
Just imagine that that visual representation of the chakra is on your hands.
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam.
Bringing your hands closer to your body,
And bringing that visual representation right down into the root chakra,
Right at the pelvic floor.
Focus there for a moment.
Feel the energy of that chakra,
The root chakra.
The sound,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam.
And then move your awareness up a couple of inches to the sacral chakra,
The second chakra,
Swadhisthana.
And with your awareness there now in the root chakra and in the second chakra,
Bring your hands up in front of you again.
And now visualize in your hand this blue color,
With the orange petals,
Crescent moon.
And from this image in your hand,
The energy of the chakra,
Listen to the sound of the mantra,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam.
In your hands,
Feel the energy of that,
This visual representation.
Imagine that that's in your hand.
And then bring that down into your body and allow it to come in and center in the second chakra,
Swadhisthana chakra.
That's a couple inches above the root chakra.
Not be too linear and thought-based,
Even though we're working with thought and images.
Let it be whatever it is.
On the root chakra,
Maladhara,
We have the yellow color,
The square,
Four red petals.
A couple of inches above that,
We have the blue,
The crescent moon,
The eight orange petals.
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam.
Letting the vibration be in your awareness.
And then come up that channel,
That dream of light to the navel center,
The manapura chakra.
Bring your hands out in front of you again.
And imagine now that there's this orangey red circle with green petals around it.
There's a fiery element to the manapura chakra,
The navel center.
And the mantra is ram,
Ram,
Ram.
Feel that vibration,
That energy in your hand.
Ram,
Ram,
Ram.
Green petals around the circle,
The fiery red-orange color.
Close your eyes and imagine you're looking into your hand.
And then take the energy of that,
The visual image of that.
Move your hands towards your body in front of your navel center and let that visual come into the chakra,
The manapura chakra.
Let your awareness rest there.
Ram,
Ram,
Ram,
Ram.
And this channel,
This smooth stream of light from the crown all the way down through the body to the root chakra.
We now have visuals in three of the chakras.
The uttara chakra,
The root chakra,
The sound,
Lam,
Lam,
The yellow color.
Coming up to the second chakra,
Swadhisthana,
The ocean blue color with the orange petals,
Crescent moon,
Bam,
Bam.
Ram,
Ram,
Ram.
Coming a little further up through that channel to the manapura chakra,
The navel center,
The sound,
Ram,
Ram,
Ram.
And the fiery red color,
Green petals.
Let all of your awareness be focusing on the navel center.
And then bring your awareness up from the navel center to the heart center,
To anahata chakra.
On your hands,
We have two grayish interlocking triangles,
One facing up,
One facing down.
Maroon petals around the outside and a brilliant white light in the center.
And the syllable,
The seed mantra,
Yum,
Yum.
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
Two interlocking grayish triangles,
The brilliant white light in the center,
Petals around the outside.
And then really focusing in now on the vibration of that in your hand.
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
Yum,
Listening to the seed mantra.
Focusing exclusively on the energy body,
Physical body,
Of course,
Is here in the same space,
But let that go to the background.
The energy of the mantra of the image in your hand.
And now bring your hands towards your heart center and rest the image that was on your hands into your heart center.
Feel that there,
See it,
Notice the energy of that,
The sound of the mantra.
Yum,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
Let your awareness flow up and down now from the heart chakra down through to the root chakra.
Coming back up from the root chakra,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum,
To the swadhisthana,
The second ocean blue,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
Manipura,
The fiery red color,
Rum,
Rum,
Rum.
Yum,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
And then up to the heart center on the hatha chakra,
The interlocking triangles,
The brilliant white light at the center,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
Your whole awareness is the vibrations along this central core,
This channel,
Stream of light from the eyebrow center,
Throat center.
And then as we get back to the heart center,
We have that visual and the mantra,
And down into the Manipura,
The navel center,
And then into swadhisthana,
Then miladhara,
The root chakra.
Let your awareness flow between those along that channel.
And then bring your awareness up now to the throat center,
The vishuddhi chakra.
And here it's a blue color,
Purple petals around the outside.
And the syllable,
The seed mantra here is hum,
Hum,
Hum.
Bring your hands out front again with part of your awareness in your vishuddhi chakra,
The throat center,
And part of your awareness in your hands.
Bring to life that visual,
The blue circle,
The purple petals around the outside,
Right in the throat center.
And the energy of that on your hands,
Feeling the vibration of the sound,
Hum,
Hum,
Hum.
And then bring your hands towards your throat and place that in that location,
Feeling now the energy of the throat center of the vishuddhi chakra right in the throat center area.
Now aware of the whole channel,
This asumna channel from the crown down through the eyebrow center,
The throat center,
All the way down to the root chakra.
Focusing for a moment just on the throat center of vishuddhi chakra,
The syllable hum,
Hum,
Hum.
If you were to flow your awareness down,
It would be to the heart center,
Down into the navel center,
Down into the sacral center,
The womb center,
And then to the root chakra.
Flowing awareness from the crown to the root and back along this stream of energy,
Of light.
And from the throat center,
The sound hum,
Hum.
Now bring your awareness up a little bit to the ajna chakra,
The eyebrow center in behind your forehead.
And bring your hands out again.
We're going to form that image on our hands.
This is two petals with a circle in the center and a flame in the center of the circle.
And the bhej mantra here,
The sound is so hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
See that,
Feel that on your hand in front of you.
And feel it in the area of the eyebrow center and behind your forehead.
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
The circle with the two white petals,
The flame in the center.
And then bring that up to your eyebrow center.
And place it right in that location behind your forehead.
The circle,
The petals,
The flame,
The vibration,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
Let all of your awareness focus on the flow of energy through the sushumna channel.
And from the eyebrow center,
Going down into the throat center,
Into the heart center,
To the navel center,
The sacral center,
And then the root center.
And allow your awareness to flow up and down in that central chakra.
The chakra of the sushumna channel.
Now aware of the energy of each chakra as you flow through that area.
And then bring your awareness from the eyebrow center,
The ajna chakra,
Up to the crown chakra,
Sahasrara.
And bring your hands in front of you.
And in your cupped hands,
You're seeing and feeling the crown chakra,
Sahasrara.
The beautiful colors,
The thousand-petaled lotus,
The mantra,
Hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
Let your mind be completely absorbed in this energy of the chakra on your hands,
The vibration of the sound and the location on the crown of the head as well.
Hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
And then lift your hands and place that right on the top of your head in the crown chakra.
Visualize that beautiful thousand-petaled lotus on the top of your head.
Feel and hear the vibration,
Hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum,
So hum.
Feel the tingling or the vibration of that on the crown chakra.
And then bring your awareness down,
Aware now of the white petals,
The fire,
The flame,
And the so hum,
And the ajna chakra,
So hum,
So hum.
Being aware of the whole channel,
Focusing more directly right now on the eyebrow center.
And then bringing yourself a little down on that low on the channel to vishuddhi chakra,
The throat center,
The syllable hum vibrating in that center.
Blue color,
The purple petals.
And coming down a little bit again to the anahata chakra,
The heart center,
With that bright white flame and the two grayish interlocking triangles.
The syllable,
The vibration of the mantra,
Yum,
Yum.
Feel the energy of it right in that location,
Along that stream of light,
That central channel.
And then down a little bit more now into the manapura chakra,
The red and orange flame circle with the green petals and the mantra rum,
Rum,
Rum.
Feel the vibration of the mantra in your manapura chakra,
The visualizing of that orange red flame.
And then coming down a little bit more now into the second chakra,
The sacral chakra,
Svadhisthana,
The ocean blue,
The orange petals,
Crescent moon,
And the syllable vom,
Vom,
Vom,
Vom.
And then down into the root chakra,
Mudhara,
That yellow color,
The four red petals,
The seed,
The mantra,
Lum,
Lum,
Lum.
And then begin to let your awareness flow up and down through this channel,
Up from mudhara to the crown,
From the crown chakra through that channel to the root chakra.
Maintain your awareness on that energy flow,
On that energy channel.
Inhaling and exhaling,
Let your energy flow.
And let your energy come to rest,
Your awareness come to rest.
Maintain awareness of the energy body and of that flow,
The chakra is stacked up along that central channel,
But let the flow of awareness come to rest.
Notice your experience.
Notice if you had any insights or if there were things that were pleasurable or deep,
Just notice your experience.
