Where is your mind right now?

Is it in your body?

And as we do a practice of being present in our body,

One of the things that we notice is that sometimes we really enjoy the experience of being in our body.

Other times that seems like a distant memory.

As we take a few deeper breaths,

Sometimes that feels so welcome.

Oh,

That's right,

I was kind of forgetting to breathe or I was breathing very shallow.

And other times it's like,

I don't want to rush into that.

So really honor ourselves for whatever it is we're feeling.

And I know what it feels like to be disconnected.

And I also know what it feels like to be connected,

To enjoy being in my body.

And move into this healing practice with a visualization.

Our mind is so powerful.

Our mind believes the thoughts that are in the brain,

Many of which are pretty alarmist.

But we can also seed that experience with some memories of really enjoying being in our body.

So one thing that comes to mind is sitting in the sunshine.

In that perfect temperature,

The perfect little gentle breeze,

Perfectly supported,

Being I'm lying down on the earth,

Perhaps,

Or sitting on a chair.

Or maybe it's swimming,

Floating in a lake,

Seeing the sky,

Maybe the trees,

And feeling supported through the whole of your back body.

And maybe for you,

Swimming makes you kind of scared.

And that's not something that's helpful for you.

Maybe it's something else.

Let's take a few minutes to really settle into the memory of an experience,

A body memory of when you were really enjoying being in your body.

Notice the visuals,

The sounds,

The aromas,

The feeling,

Maybe the air on your skin or the water,

Your sense perceptions.

And let your breath get a little bit deeper,

More continuous and smooth.

And as you're inhaling,

Notice the expansion of your breath.

And on the exhale,

Notice the release,

Softening.

And tune into the energy in your body's energy field.

We have the space that our body is occupying.

Notice that there's sensation in our body in that space.

On a deeper,

More subtle layer,

There's the energy field of our cells,

Our tissues.

There's a physicalness as well as an energy.

And if you enjoy bringing a sense of light into that energy field,

You might bring that light of the blue stars into your whole body,

Especially the one at the heart center radiating out so that your whole body fills with light.

And allow every cell of your body to be filled with light.

Might be a golden glow of light radiating from the heart center.

Could bring your attention to the head area and notice the light that's infusing your brain,

The bones of your skull,

Your eyes and your optic nerve.

The air that's coming into your nose,

Down into your mouth,

Into your throat,

Into your lungs,

Is pure light.

Visualize that light filling all of the areas of your lungs,

All of the little spaces where the air comes in and then the air flows out.

The fresh supply of oxygen comes into the blood,

Comes into the whole of your body.

Let your lungs be filled with light.

Visualize your lung tissue as being pink and healthy,

Functioning well.

You're breathing in and breathing out.

There's an ease in your breath.

Coming back into noticing the flow of the light and the air into your nose.

Notice that your whole brain is suffused with light.

Down to the brainstem and then your neck and shoulders.

There's often tension in the neck and shoulders,

But right now all of those muscles are suffused with light.

Soft,

Relaxed,

Healthy muscle tissue.

Any burdens that you've been carrying on your neck and shoulders have dissolved into the light.

Your upper back and behind your heart center.

Relaxed,

Healthy muscles,

Healthy bones,

Back of your ribcage.

Coming forward into the chest,

Healthy heart.

The blood flow is smooth.

Back to the lungs,

The light of the air flow in the lungs.

The bones at the front,

The ribcage,

The muscles in the front of the chest.

Coming up to the collarbones,

Into the sides of the neck again,

And down into the arms.

Let go of any fatigue or tension or inflammation in the neck and shoulders and the arms.

Bring your awareness all the way down through to the palms of your hands,

Your fingertips.

And if you were to move your arms,

It would be a movement of your arms.

A movement of light.

Bring your awareness back into your chest,

The front and the back and to the bottom of the ribcage.

The diaphragm muscle is strong and healthy.

And as you breathe out,

There's that ballooning up of the diaphragm.

As you breathe in,

The diaphragm flattens,

The air comes into the lungs.

Let yourself enjoy that easy,

Continuous movement of the breath.

Diaphragm muscle has lots of room.

Your body is relaxed,

Strong,

Efficient diaphragm muscle.

And then just below the diaphragm is the stomach area,

Kidneys,

The liver,

And your navel center up to the diaphragm muscle.

Notice that that whole area is filled with light.

The stomach is digesting its food with efficiency.

You have enough digestive fire to have good digestion.

The liver,

The kidneys,

The pancreas are all doing their work.

Healthy tissue.

Visualize the light permeating that whole area.

And if there's something that's not as healthy,

Let the light linger there.

Tune with your organs with love and attention.

Appreciating their function.

They're always trying to do their best.

See the pink healthy tissue and the whole area is radiant with this healing light.

From your navel center into the lower part of your abdomen,

Notice your intestines,

The rest of your digestive system,

Also your bladder,

The urethra,

All of those organs of elimination with urine and feces.

Perhaps you have a bit of a negative wince there,

But maybe not.

Maybe just to allow that to also be part of our loving care and attention.

Everything is moving well.

Digestion is efficient.

And if there's any inflammation or things that could be working better,

Extending a little more loving attention to that area.

Let the light linger there.

Perhaps you have a uterus,

A cervix,

A vagina,

Perhaps a penis.

Notice your genitals as well,

The surface as well as the internal.

Many people have trauma in this area.

See if you could allow that to be healed with this light.

Let yourself relax with the whole of your torso from your collarbones,

Through your heart and lungs,

Through your stomach,

Down to your lower belly,

The abdominal area,

The genitals,

The digestive system.

To be in your awareness,

Be filled with this healing light.

And if there's anything that needs a little extra attention,

Let yourself focus there a little bit longer.

Visualize the whole area is working perfectly.

Healthy tissue,

Healthy function.

It's infused with this healing light.

And from the light in the brain,

The head,

The eyes,

The ears,

Mouth and jaw,

Your tongue,

Down through your neck and shoulders,

To your arms and hands,

Front and back of the torso,

The interior,

The heart and lungs,

Stomach area,

Liver,

Kidneys,

Bladder,

Down through your lower belly.

And then come into your hip joints and the muscles of your legs,

Your knee joints,

Your calves,

Ankle joints,

The top and the bottom of the feet,

The toes and the heels.

And allow your legs to be rejuvenated with this healing light.

Releasing any fatigue or inflammation,

Letting your blood flow,

Your lymphatic fluid flow,

Perfect circulation in your legs and feet.

If there's any swelling or inflammation in your legs,

Visualize that the light is healing that.

And from the soles of your feet up through your whole body to the top of your head,

Allow your whole body to be filled with this radiant light.

Intend with your mind that your body be healed.

And then let the thoughts move into stillness,

Into silence,

And focus completely on the energy field of your body,

The radiant light.

Let yourself rest in this for a moment.

If there are any areas of your body that need healing,

Let your attention linger there.

And as we come towards the end of the practice and you open your eyes,

Notice the light shining through your eyes.

As you move your body,

Notice that lingering sense of the practice,

Of the healing energy of the light in the body.

A practice like this is helpful to bring our attention to areas that might need a bit more light,

More healing.

We often have a lot of thoughts about it,

Worry or concern.

And then we have the actual practice.

Just as our brain believes negative thoughts,

It also,

When we do a practice like this,

Starts to believe and experience the healing that's also here.
