A meditation to help you reconnect with your breath, along with a presence that is steady and content within this moment. Balancing the breath is one of the most powerful ways we can influence our nervous system, and bring conscientiousness to our life. Use this whenever you wish to create a reset or pause in your day.

Hello,

My name is Lucy and welcome to a brief reset for your energy.

Through this we'll pause in time and use our breath to draw you back towards a sense of presence and stability.

I begin in an upright seat.

You choose something that feels quite effortless and stable.

Whether you have your legs crossed or you're seated in a chair or somewhere else comfortable,

Nestle in.

Peel the spine,

Growing tall.

It's almost like you're extending the space between the crown and the root of your spine.

And when you feel settled,

Take your attention to the breath.

Notice if your breath is feeling spacious or perhaps a little constricted as you are.

Maybe you begin to deepen your breath a little.

And one way to do this,

Maybe to draw your attention to the nostrils.

As you inhale,

See the breath rising up to steady streams and then going down towards the lungs,

Feeling deep into the belly and then the back,

The sides and chest.

And as you exhale,

Releasing the chest and the sides,

Back and belly.

You could continue like this,

Inhaling down into the belly,

Back,

Sides and chest.

And exhaling,

Chest,

Sides,

Back and belly.

Feel free to work a little bit faster or slower.

Something that feels rhythmic and steady for you.

And using these four part breaths,

To help expand your awareness of this area within your ribcage.

This three dimensional quality of your abdomen breathing.

Let's take one more steady round here.

Inhaling towards belly and back,

Sides and chest.

And exhaling to release chest and sides,

Back and belly.

And soak in a deep breath that fills to the very top.

And you might even hover here for a few moments.

And without any strain,

When you're ready,

The exhale releases out through the nose.

And take one more full breath here.

Inhaling deeply,

Just one smooth stream.

And open the mouth,

Exhaling completely.

Okay.

Now rest back into awareness here.

Just observe of the breath and the way we have breathed has shifted in qualities of the mind.

Or the way you are perceiving your surroundings.

You might continue to sit here for a little longer.

And whenever you are ready to come back into life.

Draw your palms somewhere onto your body or into one another,

Palms at heart center.

Just offer a moment of gratitude.

Taking the time out to refocus,

Recenter and reconnect with this vital quality and the life-giving energy of your breath.

When you're ready,

Slowly opening the eyes.

And coming back towards life.
