Hello,

My name is Lucy and this is a practice of nine grounding breaths.

You may like to use this practice at the beginning of your day or at the end of your day,

Perhaps as a transition and preparation into a meeting or conversation for which you'd like to invite more steadiness and center.

Take a moment to settle yourself into a comfortable position,

Perhaps seated with your spine tall,

Feeling dignified and at ease.

Take a moment to invite in any gestures or movements that may help you to land here.

We'll begin with a full round of clearing breaths,

Inhaling to fill up and then open the mouth,

Let that go.

And taking two more like that,

You may see or sense this buoyancy on the inhalation,

Filling up and as you exhale gravity from underneath,

Holding you as you soften downward.

And more like that,

A deep inhale,

Filling up,

Filling up and mouth or nose and exhalation out.

And your next inhale,

A slow and perhaps deep breath in.

And as if your thoughts were clouds,

As you exhale,

Imagine that breath as a wind clearing away any clouds unnecessary for this moment,

Revealing a little more blue sky.

And two more here,

Inhaling and exhaling,

Clearing thoughts,

Stories no longer useful in this moment.

Allowing the mind to be spacious,

Inhaling and emptying,

Exhaling and begin to sense into the space around your heart and lungs.

As you inhale,

See or sense that expansion sideways,

Front and back.

And as you exhale,

Perhaps a softness,

A tenderness,

Releasing around the heart and ribcage.

Two more here,

Inhaling a lightness,

An ease around the heart and the melting ice to water releasing.

One more here,

Your inhalation and the tender heart exhaling,

Softening.

Allowing your natural breath to return.

And for a moment here,

Simply sensing the space within your body.

Sense of where you are in time,

In your environment,

Knowing that this quality of steadiness grounded between earth and sky is here and available anytime you need.

Take your time to begin arriving,

Moving into your body again and take with you any steadiness,

Ease and calm that you might have collected here.

Run to life.
