Qigong | Opening The Heart & Clearing The Lungs
This qigong meditation practice stimulates the pericardian, as well as the lung meridians. Regular practice will help to bring relief to mild heart conditions. It also strengthens the Wei Qi - the "protective qi', which naturally boosts the immune system, as well as balances emotions.

Hello friends,
I'm Lu Tian.
Today I will guide you through a qigong practice,
Opening the heart and clearing the lungs.
It has simple movements but offers many health benefits.
Let's get started.
Stand,
Feet hip width apart.
Bend your knees a little and we will bring up the happy bouncing.
This might seem a little weird to you but you can't help to feel happy.
Try to say I'm stressed and I'm upset.
It just won't happen because when we bounce,
Muscles are stimulated to release stress.
Move your knees up and down.
Feel the vibration in your body and this is your energy.
This is also called shake the tree.
Shaking or bouncing activates chi flow,
Generates new cell growth.
It is the quickest way to feel happy and to let go of stress.
Feel all your internal organs being massaged nicely.
All your joints are lubricated.
Reach your arms up and let your wrists hang loose.
If you notice any tension in your shoulders and your neck,
As you breathe out,
Let go of the tension.
Gently bring your arms down and swing them front to back,
Loosening up everything in the body.
Now come back to stillness.
Feet hip width apart,
Arms long,
Palms facing forward,
Fingers are open to allow energy to flow.
Tuck your chin slightly,
Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
The tip of the tongue is the switch connecting your two main energy channels.
Close your eyes.
Bring up a joyful smile,
Gentle and deep breathing.
Bring your focus to your heart.
You see this beautiful light shining in your heart.
With each breath,
This beautiful light shining in your heart gets bigger and brighter and warmer.
Your whole body is in this light.
This is the light of the unconditional love you were born with.
In the light of your unconditional love,
Notice how your body feels from the inside.
With your closed eyes,
You see all your internal organs and systems are based in the light.
The light gets bigger,
Brighter and warmer.
Now you see your whole family and your community are in this light.
The light continue to grow,
Get even bigger,
Even brighter and even warmer.
In the light of your unconditional love,
You start to open your wings out slowly.
Feel your light and your love radiates out to far far away and all the way to the sky.
Once your arms are up,
Flip the palms facing up,
Fingers pointed in.
Try to keep your arms as straight as you can.
You may notice one arm doesn't go as straight as the other.
There might be a knot or a blockage.
Stretch and lengthen to smooth the knot.
Slowly open your arms.
Keep your wrists engaged.
Once your arms are out to a T,
Relax your shoulders and continue to press your palms away,
Fingers pointed up.
If this is your first time,
This can be strenuous.
Lower your arms down to an angle,
But keep the wrists engaged.
Try to hold for up to 30 seconds.
Notice the warmth in your chest and the tinkling sensation or numbness along your arms,
In your palms and your fingers.
With your wrists engaged,
Slowly lower your arms down by your sides.
Bring the hands together,
Palms facing up.
As you breathe,
Lift the palms up.
Feel the energy rise and expand in your body.
Once your palms to your chest,
Bend your knees and send your hips back.
Arch the arms out,
Then flip the palms facing each other,
Gathering more energy between your hands.
Bring this chi,
This energy,
Back to your lower dan tian.
Palms together,
For female left palm on top,
For male right palm on top.
Observe a cycle of breath,
Then slowly release your hands down by your sides,
Palms facing forward.
I will guide you through this practice three more times.
You might move at your own pace.
Always start with the light in your heart,
A smile on your face.
If you have difficulty visualizing the light,
Say it to yourself quietly.
There's this beautiful light shining in my heart.
I can feel it.
I can see it.
Your thoughts is a form of energy.
As you slowly raise your arms,
Feel the light radiates from the inside.
Notice the warmth in your chest and the tinkling sensation along your arms.
The numbness you might feel,
It is the energy,
The chi trying to move through the blockages.
The energy has been activated.
We are stimulating the meridian points along the pericardian and the lung meridians.
The pericardian is this double-walled sac,
Enclose the heart.
It is the guardian to the heart.
This practice will help to bring relief for heart palpitations.
Also lift up your mood as the lungs is being cleared.
The added benefit for this practice,
It helps to tone the arms and the sagging arm skin.
Slowly lower your arms down.
Breathe through your lower dan tian.
Feel the energy rise and expand through your chest and your arms.
Flip the palms in as if you are holding an energy ball while standing up straight,
Squeezing the energy ball as you draw the palms closer and bring it to your lower dan tian.
Observe a cycle of breath.
Prepare for round two.
Chi Gong is an ancient yet evolving holistic system of self-healing,
Exercise and meditation.
Chi means the air we breathe in,
The energy or life force spells QI.
Gong means to study,
To practice through discipline,
To get to the mastery.
In Chi Gong practice,
We utilize our mind,
The Yi in Chinese,
To guide our practice.
Yi,
The mind,
More accurately the heart-mind as the character itself depicts the voice and the heart.
Yi,
The voice of the heart,
The subconscious mind.
Through the guidance of our mind and our breath,
Combined with meditation and gentle movements,
We learn to balance a healthy living equal system.
Slowly lower your arms down by your sides.
Breathe through your lower dan tian.
Inhale,
Draw in.
Exhale,
Expand.
Feel the chi,
Train the body to move with relaxation,
Allow the movement to flow.
Slowly stand up straight and get hold with the energy ball,
Squeezing the energy ball and bring this chi,
This energy,
Back to your lower dan tian.
Observe a cycle of breath,
Then slowly release your hands down by your sides,
Palms facing forward.
Prepare for round 3.
Chi Gong teaches that there's no good energy or bad energy,
But the blockages of chi can make the body sick.
Chi cannot be created nor to be destroyed,
But can be transformed.
Through diligent practice,
We can learn to clear blockages and transform the energy that no longer serves us.
Notice the warmth in your chest,
The tinkling sensation along your arms,
In your palms and fingers.
Gradually lower your arms down.
Well,
Keep your wrists engaged.
Bring your hands to prayer.
Focus back to your heart.
Feel this beautiful light shining in your heart.
This light is yours.
This is your light.
You might extend it to anyone or to anything.
Interlace your fingers and wrap your palms.
Massage your face nine times.
Give your trifacial nerves some love.
This dry wash of the face improves complexion and makes us look younger.
Massage the ears nine times.
Every part of the ears looks and crannies.
Cup your head.
Cup back and your neck.
Notice your head become more clear to cup the head.
In case you're wondering what are we doing,
We are harvesting the chi.
Cup the left shoulder head.
Right shoulder head.
Up the torso.
Left side of the torso.
Right side.
Left arm inside,
Outside.
Right arm.
We're going to cup the kidneys.
Bend your knees a little.
Use the back of your hands to massage the kidneys.
Lift up your shirt if you like.
Skin to skin is the best.
Then use your palms to massage.
Gently.
Feel the zing,
The energy moving about on your back.
It radiates to other part of your body.
Bend your knees a little.
Tap the depression behind the hip joints.
Cup the kneecaps.
Left knee.
Right knee.
Behind the knees.
Heel rise,
Stimulating the yung chuan point in the soles of the feet.
Bring your hands to your heart.
Take this feeling of harmony and balance into the rest of your day.
