Hello and welcome.
My name is Abigail Morrissey and today I will guide you through a meditation to prepare you for surgery.
This meditation is meant to be practiced every day leading up until your surgery to help you feel at ease and trust in the process,
Trust in the doctors,
Your body,
And the people that will be caring for you.
Please get into a comfortable position.
Feel the space around you,
Beneath you,
And bring your attention to your breath.
Notice your inhale and your exhale without trying to change the breath.
Just witness it,
Observe the quality.
Now bring your awareness to the surface beneath you,
Maybe it's a bed,
The floor,
Whatever it is,
Allow your body to feel supported.
Allow your body to melt and soften and bring your awareness now to the top of your head.
Allow relaxation to float down from the top of your head all the way to the tips of your toes,
Moving slowly like a shower,
A rainfall of relaxation,
Washing over you,
Relaxing your forehead,
Eye,
Shoulders,
Chins,
Stomach,
Hips,
Ankles,
And feet,
Body to relax.
Now picture a beautiful place.
See yourself in a space where you are safe and calm.
Take time and notice every detail of this special safe place.
See the colors,
The scents,
The sounds.
Imagine a staircase that will take you to your special safe place.
The staircase has 10 steps.
You are going to walk down the steps and with each of the steps that you take,
You feel your body relaxing even more.
I will count down from 10 as you walk down the steps and sink deeper into relaxation.
Relax even deeper,
Seven,
Even deeper still,
Six,
Deeper and deeper.
The deeper you go into relaxation,
The better you will feel.
Let us go deeper still,
Three,
Two,
Let yourself drift and float.
See yourself in your special space now.
You are alone.
There is no one here to disturb you.
Allow yourself to enjoy your special safe place.
If you would like,
You can invite your angels,
Ancestors,
Family,
And friends to be with you in this special safe place.
See them in your mind's eye.
Feel their love and support.
See your guardian angels and benevolent beings all here to support you in this safe space.
As you relax deeper and deeper,
Imagine yourself now going into a deep healing sleep.
See your body.
This is the deepest sleep you have ever experienced.
Your physical body,
Mental body,
And energetic body.
As you are in this deep sleep,
Everything is in its proper order.
All is well,
All is taken care of,
There is nothing for you to do.
The inner doctor,
See the doctor within,
Caring for and healing your body.
Now see the doctors,
Surgeons,
Nurses,
And anesthesiologists in your mind's eye.
See that they are all highly competent,
They are taking excellent care of you,
They work with your inner healer to watch over you and help your body to repair and heal.
Your power for healing is activated.
The inner healer regulates your body every step of the way.
Every part of the surgery moves along easily and effortlessly.
Your inner healer,
Your body,
Cooperates with the doctors and the nurses so that everything moves with ease.
Upon successfully completing your surgery,
You continue to heal.
You heal quickly.
During your surgery,
There is a beautiful white light surrounding you,
Watching over you,
Protecting you.
This light is a part of your healing process.
The light will be with you as you heal and as you move to attain optimal health.
When you wake from your deep healing sleep,
You feel comfortable,
You feel amazing.
It feels as if only a few moments have passed.
Now see your doctors and surgeons in your mind's eye.
Picture them telling you,
You are whole,
Healthy,
And strong.
The surgery was successful.
You are healed.
Feel yourself smiling,
Happy,
Healthy,
And strong.
You are happy,
Healthy,
And strong.
As you awake and regain consciousness,
You will feel comfortable and relaxed.
You will feel comfortable and as if only a few moments have passed.
Enjoy this state before I count you back into consciousness.
I will count you back starting at 1 and ending at 10.
When you come back,
You will feel alert,
Refreshed,
And relaxed.
Begin to come back now.

Coming back slowly.

Body temperature and heart rate rising,
7,
8,
Feeling movement in your eyes and fingers,
9,
10.
Your eyes open and you are feeling better than you did before.
Take a few moments now to come back into the room,
Moving gently with care and ease.
If anything came up for you during your meditation,
Take a few moments to journal and reflect.
