In this guided relaxation,

We're going to focus on a specific question or decision you need to make and help you get in touch with your own inner wisdom.

First we're going to relax and let everything go and then I'm going to guide you into an exercise around this question that you have in mind.

So take a comfortably seated position.

With your eyes closed,

Let everything go from the day and congratulate yourself on giving yourself this time for you.

Take a couple of deep grounding breaths,

Expanding your belly slowly and letting the exhalation gently release twice as slow.

At your own pace,

Taking this deep grounding breath,

Allowing the breath to relax your body muscle as it flows gently through your body.

I want you to focus first on your root,

Where your seat meets the earth.

Focus on any sensation in this area of your body.

Focus on gravity gently holding you,

The safety of this space.

And let your body fall heavy and deep and relaxed into your seat.

First I want you to focus on your stomach and your gut.

And I want you to notice without judgment how it feels in your stomach,

Just like a good friend noticing.

Is it tight?

Is it relaxed?

Is it warm?

Any sensation,

Just gently having presence for what's occurring in your stomach.

Now I want to invite you to relax your stomach.

Let it fall loose.

Let it go.

So I want you to have your question in mind,

Very lightly holding it with you,

Never thinking about it,

But just having the presence of it with you through this exercise.

And next I'm going to have you think of one major person outside yourself that has a lot of influence over your decision and your opinion,

Whether it be vocal or even just a subtle influence,

Just caring a lot about their opinion and their involvement,

Whether it's a family member,

A doctor,

A friend.

Hold that person in your mind's eye and think of their words and their opinion and that tug they might have on you.

And now I want you to imagine putting that person,

Their essence,

Their words,

Their opinion,

Their influence in a canning jar.

You're going to just put it all in this jar and you're going to close the lid air tight.

And now I want you to take that jar and put it in this dark closeted pantry on the shelf.

And now I want you to think of a second person,

Whoever comes to mind,

Gently accept the next person that comes first to mind who has this influence,

Whether it's good and nurturing or bad,

We're just going to put these influences in a jar just for now and put this next person in the jar.

And now you're tightening and closing the lid and you're placing them in the pantry on the shelf.

Now I want you to think of a third and final and if you need to think of a few last people to put them all in this final jar,

Take a moment to put them in this final jar and close that lid tight and put them in the pantry.

And now you're going to shut the door.

Now I want you to focus again on your root,

Where your seat meets the ground and we want you to feel what's there again,

The weight,

The contact.

If you feel any pressure,

Heat,

Chill,

If you feel simply nothing,

Just acknowledge the presence of this one region,

No judgment,

Just super gentle.

And then I want you to move slowly up with your presence back into your stomach.

And as light as a feather touches the skin,

I want you to notice with no judgment,

Whatever is there,

Whatever occurs,

Whatever sensations are in your stomach.

And I want you to now invite your stomach to lightly relax and let go,

Become heavy and relaxed.

I want you to move this attention and presence up to your chest and simply feel whatever sensations are gently occurring in your chest.

And feel,

Is there fluttering in your chest?

Is it hot?

Is it cold?

Is it constricted?

Is it open?

Is it soothed?

Is it calm?

Is it gently acknowledging the state it's naturally in with no judgment and then inviting it to loosen and open and deeply relax.

And now moving slowly your attention up until your throat and seeing what sensations are naturally occurring in your throat.

Does it feel tense,

Light,

Heavy,

Tight,

Fluttery,

Relaxed?

See what's occurring all around your throat and gently invite it to open and soften and deeply relax and let go.

Now,

We'll come back to your question in a minute,

But you can hold it again lightly in your mind.

And for this exercise,

I want us to commit fully to not acting on any information that rises up.

I want whatever your gut tells you to come so pure and safe that there's no actions that will be taken from it.

You have total freedom to just allow that information to rise and have no responsibility to do anything about it,

But just allow room for whatever naturally bubbles up to bubble up.

And now we want you to simply ask yourself the question without thinking or much thought.

Just see what naturally bubbles up and if nothing bubbles up,

Give no judgment.

Just relax deeper into your breath.

Repeat the question and make room for silence if needed.

I invite you to place your hand on your chest and feel the breathing,

Slow,

Rhythmic rise and fall as you sit with any wisdom that came up.

Hold in your mind the responses that naturally bubbled up and see how you're feeling in your body as these responses come to mind.

How does your body respond to the wisdom that came up?

I'm just holding space for your feelings as they are in this sacred safe moment to explore what naturally comes to mind.

It's absolutely okay to feel layered feelings,

A mix of sadness,

Relief,

Maybe anger,

Maybe freedom and excitement.

Continue to keep your hand on your chest and follow your breathing.

Let your breath continually calm and soothe your body like a massage,

Traveling in and out of your body,

Lightly calming it.

And next to go deeper into this gut,

I'm going to ask a new question and as I offer this prompt just let anything bubble up with no judgment.

And the question is,

Are you ready to act on what you discovered today?

And the next prompt is,

If you're not ready,

Is that okay?

Can you accept where you're at in this moment and simply offer yourself compassion and love and understanding?

And to close with your hands still on your chest,

I want you to deepen your breath,

Slow deep breaths into your root,

Expanding and slowly releasing that breath.

I want you to do one final visualization.

I want you to imagine you are taking one path on this decision.

If you had some wisdom come up that defined which path that is,

Take that path.

If you didn't,

Simply pick one,

Doesn't matter.

And imagine you're going down that path.

And I want you to see everything about that path gently and safely,

Imagining some of the possibilities of love and hope along that path.

And imagine in your body the freedom you feel in having picked one path and that there's a great relief in knowing your direction.

Feel yourself in your body in these last moments along that path and the strength and confidence from having picked.

And to close,

I want you to take some deep breaths to come back to the room and fully back into your body and create a safe space for yourself in the next couple of hours to be really gentle with whatever information and wisdom you connected to today.

Just really take care of that and continue to strengthen the relationship to your own voice and your own inner guide.
