This is a blissful and rejuvinating meditation to help relax your mind and increase your energy. It's a great practice to start your day.
Transcript
Go ahead and find your meditation space.
This might be a physical place that you have set out in your home.
But more importantly,
It's an internal place that we can access no matter where we are.
So wherever you find yourself today,
Know that there is not one right space because it's really,
We can be anywhere.
But what we learned through this practice is to find rejuvenation in the moment wherever we are.
So go ahead and allow the eyes to fall closed.
Allow your hands to rest where they feel comfortable.
Begin to lift the waist up out of the hips and relax the shoulder blades down the back.
Begin to invite some conscious and intentional breaths in and out.
Already beginning to sense the texture of the breath.
Begin to use this openness of the breath to invite a little more space within a part of your body that might need it.
Maybe that starts with inviting more space in our minds.
The inhale is an expansive feeling that can really begin to bring a more expanse and luminous quality into the mind's eye.
Beginning to open us to receive to intuit and to release those thoughts that we might still be holding on to.
Or any negativity that we want to let go of.
And simply use the rhythm of your breath to continue and open up space from your mind down through each part of your body.
Your shoulders and your chest.
Beginning to open up the space within to make way for this new energy to refresh you.
To rejuvenate you.
And as you breathe you can maybe begin to notice the quality and the sound.
Notice if by going deeper into a meditation you can start to sense things that weren't there when you just started.
Whether that be sense things about the breath or sense things about something internally.
Something physicality.
And for this meditation we're going to take a little walk in our minds eye.
I'd like you to imagine a really nice summer's day on a lake.
So whatever lake comes to mind.
It might be a mountainous lake.
It might be a more rural type of setting.
Maybe it's one pretty close to home.
And I'd like you to simply enjoy the walk around this lake until you find a couple trees that you can hang up your hammock on.
We're going to take a nice little rest to replenish ourselves and refresh ourselves for this day.
Go ahead and hang up your hammock.
And allow yourself to make your way inside.
Put up your feet.
Relax your head.
Maybe you do this in your physical body by relaxing your jaw.
Just look out over the lake and the trees.
And begin to know what you see.
Note if the sky is blue.
The light of the sun.
Color of the tree.
Color of your hammock.
And continue to scan anything else that might be popping into your vision.
Continuing to use this breath to open you and relax you into your hammock.
Now release what you see and see if you can start to tune in to some of the things that you may feel.
Maybe you feel the wind start to move past your face,
Gently rocking the hammock side to side.
Maybe you feel the comfort of the cocoon of being in the hammock as your back rests on its support.
Maybe the setting has a feel to it as well.
You can feel the love as kids and their families might be playing nearby.
Maybe you can feel the peace of having this lake all to yourself.
Continuing to use your breath to invite in space.
And relax out and deeper into your hammock.
Release the feelings and begin to tune in with any sounds that might be in the distance.
Maybe it's the birds chirping,
The trees rustling from the cool wind as it continues to pass by.
It might be something faint in the distance.
Some background noise that only increases the relaxed nature of your body.
Continuing to open up each inhale and further reconnect and refresh each exhale.
And start to now see if you can notice any smells.
Maybe some flowers.
Maybe a smell of grass being mowed.
And now begin to put all of these sensory experiences together.
Maybe this time you keep your eyes closed since you're relaxing on your hammock.
But you can still see everything in your mind's eye.
You can still see the lake,
The trees,
The sun,
The sky.
You can feel the wind,
The hammock.
Feel the love,
The peace.
Hear the sounds,
The birds,
The kids,
The families.
And smell all the smells.
As if this whole dance of life were happening all around you.
And you are an integral part of that dance of life.
Finding yourself in your moment of rest and relaxation.
Breathing in that cool lake air.
And breathing out,
Relaxing even deeper.
And very gently begin to come back from the visualizing and all of this in your hammock.
And hopefully you enjoy your rest.
Enjoy relaxation and then get out of the hammock.
Take it down.
And start to walk back on your path near the lake.
Until you enjoy the walk long enough to find yourself back in your meditation space.
In your physical body.
Coming back to the connection of your hands on your thighs and your tailbone on your chair.
Finding still a few more breaths to open and release and relax.
And you can always use this breath,
Breathing in the cool outside air as a reminder and a physical reminder to refresh yourself,
Refresh your thoughts.
Refresh your body.
And reconnect you with your heart and the moment.
And whenever you feel complete,
Begin to gently open your eyes and come back to your day.
It's been my pleasure to guide you.
Namaste.
