Hi friend and welcome to this yoga nidra practice for happiness.

I invite you to put yourself in a comfortable position.

This may be lying on your back with your arms down by the side,

Palms of the hands facing the sky,

Whatever is comfortable for you in your body right now.

We will start this yoga nidra practice and you will open up and allow things to be just as they are.

For the duration of this practice there is no good or bad,

Right or wrong,

Things just exist.

Everything for the next several moments is simply information.

I invite you to begin by welcome,

Recognize and witness whatever you're experiencing in this moment.

Perhaps give yourself a big breath and if you could relax just 10% more as you release that exhale please do so.

Through this yoga nidra practice you'll experience yourself as deep presence.

I invite you to allow anything that arises either spontaneously or by my suggestion just to be without any judgment.

Open up and experience your awareness.

Let go of any achievement or expectation.

During this practice nothing is supposed to happen and nothing is not supposed to happen.

Nonetheless we will use this practice as a way of uncovering the layers that would bring you boundless joy,

Happiness and pure beingness.

So start by noticing anything going on inside of you,

Emotions,

Thoughts,

The internal physical sensations you're experiencing right now and simply notice them.

Now be aware of anything that's happening outside of you,

Temperatures,

Lights,

Even those your eyes might be closed,

Sounds,

Smells etc.

Simply notice these.

Take a moment and feel everything that is external.

Now change and be aware of anything that is internal.

Change again to external.

Now notice simultaneously what's happening inside and outside of you.

Be aware of both at the same time.

Be the part of you that is larger than internal or external,

The part that is both within you and outside of you.

In this moment I invite you to create a positive statement of truth.

This is your intention.

Allow this statement to be both optimistic and realistic and allow this statement to reflect what is and what is now and maybe where you'd like to be.

And allow this statement to be specific.

Try a phrase like I'm on the road to and fill in the blanks or I had everything inside of me for or maybe the universe wants to bless me with.

If there's another intention that you're working with please use that one.

Either way repeat your intention a few times in your head.

Now I invite you to feel into your body.

Remember a place that for you is your favorite place,

A personal sanctuary and an oasis.

Bring to mind a place where you can just be without any qualifiers.

This could be a real place or a made-up place,

It doesn't matter.

Relax into the moment and begin to fill in the details of your sanctuary using your senses.

Choose three or four shapes and colors that you see in your sanctuary and allow your sanctuary to rise to the surface in this very moment.

What are some of the smells in your sanctuary?

Are you inside or outside?

Is it daytime or nighttime?

Are you with other people or are you alone?

What do you hear in your sanctuary?

Give yourself a moment to simply be aware of the different sounds you're experiencing in your sanctuary.

Now invite the tasters of your sanctuary onto your tongue.

Allow your body to feel the physical sensation of your sanctuary.

Now bring to the surface the emotion you have while you're in the sanctuary.

Is it peace?

Is it love?

Is it joy?

Is it excitement?

What is the emotion you feel in your sanctuary?

And allow this emotion to rise to the surface.

This sanctuary is inside of you.

It's not a place that's outside,

It's always there.

You can come here whenever you'd like to.

It is fixed by simply reaching out your hand and bringing it to your awareness.

Notice how you feel in this moment and again if you could get even just a little bit more relaxed.

Do whatever you need to do to be a little bit more relaxed.

Please relax and enjoy yourself as we go along on this journey.

Remember that even if you fall asleep that's part of this and you will still be paying attention.

There is no right or wrong.

Let whatever happens happen.

Begin to refine your attention to the sensation of your body.

Specifically feel the awareness of the sensation of your mouth.

You don't need to think about it.

You don't need to do anything about it.

You're just feeling the sensation of your mouth.

Become aware of it as a sensation.

Now feel your eyes.

You're feeling the sensation of your eyes,

Welcoming them as a sensation,

Recognizing them as a sensation,

And being the witness to the sensation of your eyes.

Feel now your entire face from forehead to chin,

Temple to temple,

And jaw to jaw.

Feel the sensation of your entire face as one plane of sensation.

Bring awareness to the sensation of your neck and your throat.

Bring your attention to the sensation of shoulders,

Arms,

Including elbows,

Forearms,

And wrists.

And bring your awareness to the sensation of hands,

Back,

Chest.

Can you notice the feeling and sensation of your heart beating?

Feel your belly moving up and down as you breathe.

I invite you to bring awareness to the sensation of your pelvis.

You still don't need to do anything or change anything.

Merely be aware of the sensation of your pelvis.

Now feel your legs,

Hips to knees,

Knees to ankles,

Ankles to toes.

And now feel the entire left side of your body,

Hip to toe.

Give yourself a moment to feel the entire left side of your body as a sensation,

The entire left side.

Now feel the entire right side of your body,

Head to toe.

Feel the entire right side of your body as a sensation,

The entire right side.

And now feel both sides of your body.

Feel both sides simultaneously.

In this moment remember a time when your head felt wonderful.

Perhaps you remember getting a head massage or somebody was cutting your hair.

Remember a time when your head felt wonderful.

Remember what it feels like to have the sensation of being alive,

Feeling relaxed,

Nourished,

Care for it.

Remember what it feels like to have your neck feeling warm,

Like maybe wrapping a scarf around it or somebody embracing you with their head resting against your neck.

And now remember the feeling of somebody rubbing your shoulders gently.

Remember the feeling of your arms moving through space feeling vigorous,

Like you're dancing or running or walking but feeling alive.

Remember your chest and belly feeling alive,

Relaxed,

Open.

Maybe you're lying in the sun,

The heat in the sun warming your front.

Feel your front receiving some wonderful warmth and attention,

Like maybe taking a warm bath.

Allow your body to open to feel the sensation of joy,

Of presence,

Of pleasure.

Feel into your back and remember what it feels like to get a massage or to maybe have your back facing the sun.

Now bring attention to the sensation of pleasure in your pelvis.

Give yourself a moment to simply feel pleasure in your pelvis.

You have all the permission in the world to simply feel this pleasure.

Feel that same pleasure moving down your legs into your knees,

Your calves,

And your ankles.

Remember a time where you were dancing,

Running,

Or walking and your entire lower half felt mobile,

Strong,

And alive.

Remember your whole body feeling alive and vital.

Now remember a time when you felt very happy.

Choose a moment of happiness.

It could be simple happiness,

A celebration,

A lovely walk,

Being with somebody you love,

Or laughing with friends until tears are streaming down your face.

Remember a time when you felt decidedly happy.

Notice how that makes you feel in your body,

Where you feel the happiness?

Is it in your belly or your chest?

And notice the memories that may arise or any other spontaneous occurrences,

Whatever that be,

A sensation or an image.

Simply welcome,

Recognize,

And witness whatever arises.

Now give yourself a moment to simply rest in this scene of great happiness.

Allow yourself the freedom to feel this great happiness.

Now can you switch the scene?

Don't choose the most devastating thing that ever happened to you,

But choose a time when you felt sad or disappointed and welcome that feeling in.

Do you remember a time when you felt disappointed by something if not sad?

And notice what that feels like.

Nothing to resist here.

Make sure you can be in a safe space about it.

If something arises that you don't want to work with,

Simply stay with the scene of happiness.

Otherwise experience this disappointment or sadness as simply an emotion.

It's a natural human experience and it is here to guide you to deeper self.

You're simply observing and as an observer you're simply noticing the experience.

See that emotion for what it is,

Simply an emotion.

Let go of the emotion,

Let it just be.

Go back and fill yourself into happiness.

Remember that time of joy,

Time of happiness.

Maybe a time when things were perfect just the way they are.

Allow yourself to feel that joy again and bring that moment to the surface once more.

Give yourself a moment and allow that feeling of joy,

Peace,

Or happiness to come to the surface.

I invite you to now hold both of these experiences at the same time.

Hold this deep decidedly happy moment at the same time as you hold the disappointment or the sadness.

Hold both in this moment like you're holding one emotion in one hand and the other emotion in the other hand.

Hold both in this moment.

What is the part of you that is thought you that emotion in this moment?

Be awareness itself,

Experience itself as something beyond emotion.

I invite you to let go of emotions that come and go.

Instead allow yourself to be at the place and time where you got it figured out,

Where you remember that everything is love,

Where everything is yes,

This is home.

This place is beyond emotions that come and go.

This is the big part of the universe where there is only love.

There's nothing to prove,

There's nothing you have to do,

There is nothing you're supposed to be.

Everything just is.

It exists just the way it is supposed to be.

Everything is perfect.

Time doesn't exist here.

This is the place beyond right and wrong,

The place where things just are.

And allow yourself to rest in pure love.

There is nothing but love.

This is your essence.

This is your most pure being.

You are only love.

Rest in this space of pure love.

Allow yourself a few minutes to remain in this place of pure love.

Carry this feeling with you as you feel yourself going back into your life with your regular ups and downs where emotions come and go.

Envision yourself carrying this unchanging love with you to always run in the background.

Even if a momentary sadness or disappointment comes,

This eternal happiness and love is a foundation that keeps your heart upright no matter the changing and momentary emotion.

We'll carry it with you an underlying feeling of love that never changes.

You can now simply witness any emotion from the place of grounded,

Of being the true you.

Now come back and see the way your life looks like from this solid place of awareness.

There's nothing you can't have.

There's nothing you can't do.

There's nothing you're not.

There's nothing to prove.

Everything is love.

It doesn't matter what happens.

Everything just is.

Everything is somehow an expression of love.

So imagine yourself at work or home with this knowledge of love for all things.

If everything is somehow some expression of love,

What does that mean about the people you work with or at home?

Apply this unending love to the kind of work you do to your family and your community.

What does your life look like when everything is only love?

When pain comes to knock on your door or there's a visit of despair or heartache,

How does love greet that at the door?

This love can hold that paradox.

Remember that different emotions,

Bliss,

Happiness,

Heartache,

Disappointment,

Sadness,

Are all interesting expressions of a more complete and whole being that is pure joy beyond momentary emotions.

Your practice is to let go,

To allow things like changeable emotions to go through you.

Come back to the feeling in your body.

Feel loose,

Open,

Real.

Your body is perfect just as it is.

There's nothing to fix or change.

Now remember your intentions from the beginning,

Your positive statement of truth.

And if you can remember that positive statement of truth,

Repeat that to yourself now.

I invite you to begin to become more aware of your surroundings.

Become aware of those sounds around you,

Including my voice.

Remember the time of day,

The sensation of your body,

Of the floor or surface you're on,

Etc.

In a moment you're going to come back into your everyday life and you will finish your practice.

You've given yourself a taste of the love that exists beyond circumstances,

Beyond events.

You can use this as a resource to hold on to when things get difficult.

Experiences will come and go but practice experiencing the joy that is within you will make you stronger.

There's a part of you that you experience through presence that can never be diminished,

That will never go away.

This is your birthright.

So as you go about the rest of your day today and throughout the days to come you'll start to see some beautiful things spontaneously happening in your life,

While responding to your positive statement of truth and your experience as pure love.

You'll start to find yourself to be less reactive,

Less caught up in changeable emotions when they come.

You will see them for what they are and when they arrive you'll be more ready and it will be easy for you to fall into the foundation of joy that is pure undying love.

With this foundation you will have a greater perspective over all your life's events and circumstances and through this love you will come to know the greatest power,

The power within you.

I'm going to count down from five and there will be a signal at the end,

That will be the signal the end of your yoga practice.
