A guided effortless mindfulness meditation to discovering that the freedom, peace, and love you seek is already within you. Preliminary meditation instruction teaches us to be present and not seek the past or future. However, here we can use a memory of a glimpse of our natural wholeness and loving presence as a door to access what is already always available. We follow the thread of the memory and then let it go for direct realization of who we are here and now.

Welcome.

So the premise in effortless mindfulness is that the awakeness that you're seeking is already here within you.

The joy,

The love,

The connection,

The freedom from suffering is not found outside of yourself and it's not found by just changing your attitudes or thoughts.

It's a way of shifting out of this current constellation of consciousness and into an already awake,

Open-hearted,

Interconnected,

Loving presence.

So the other premise is that you're capable of this,

That this is an inherent natural capacity within each of us like learning to ride a bicycle,

Learning to read,

Learning to type.

So initially you have to learn certain keys on the keyboard in order to type or thumb board and once you learn,

Once you've put in a little effort then you can now go up to a keyboard and effortlessly type without referencing the keys on the keyboard.

And so this is the process that I'm describing.

So what we're going to do today is go to the next premise which is not only is it equally available to you,

Not only are you capable because you have a capacity but you've actually already glimpsed this awake nature but you didn't know that you knew it.

Usually what happens is we associate it with a place or a person or a thing and then we try to go back there or stay around that person or do that thing again.

So one of the ways to describe it is a kind of panoramic flow state where you feel interconnected in the now,

Able to have your eyes open and be able to do and move and yet you're not self-referencing,

You're not living from a judgmental ego,

You don't feel separate or you start to actually feel a sense of not just joy with a small J but a sense of relief and joy of being.

So you may have experienced this doing things in your life,

In your childhood,

In your young adulthood perhaps while climbing a hill or being in nature or dancing or being with friends or doing a sport where if you were to go up a hill with a group of friends and have that effort of moving together and once you reach the top,

Stop,

Let go of the seeking and the efforting,

Feel the support of your friends and connection open to the spacious sky and drop into this awareness,

This open-hearted awareness.

So the mistaken identity is thinking,

Oh it was because I was with those friends on that place in nature and doing that thing that I would need to do that again in order to access that,

That it's related to the activity or the people or the place.

So what if you were to realize that that was a doorway or supports that let you relax what's in the way and revealed not just a state,

A pleasant state but actually your essential nature while you in this case just relaxed but in other cases can be moving and connecting and doing an activity and yet you're fully embodied,

Interconnected,

Open-hearted and living from another optimal level of consciousness that then we go back to our old thought-based self-referencing self and this natural awakened consciousness is actually an optimal way of living.

So with those premises we'll try a little experiment and then you can report the results.

So I'll lead you through what I call the memory door.

So I'll ask you to recall a time when you felt like you were most yourself.

A time it doesn't have to be a super peak experience but just in your life could be yesterday,

Could be a year ago,

Ten years ago,

Long time ago,

Some time,

Some place or a situation that you do repeatedly that when you do this situation when you go rock climbing,

When you go walk in nature with your dog you enter this what you think of as oh it's that place or it's that activity.

So just recall this that brings the most flourishing of positive qualities but also essential well-being and then I'll guide you through this process.

So you can continue now or take your time and pause this and then once you're ready I'll begin to lead you through a short process,

A glimpse that allows you to let go and reorient to your true nature.

So this one's often done best with eyes closed so just find a comfortable way of sitting and allow yourself to begin to recall this scene.

Begin to smell the smells,

Hear the sounds of laughter or of nature whether you're at the wherever you are.

Begin to sense the feeling of the air on your skin.

Begin to feel that sense of movement.

Begin to notice the particulars and the colors as if you're moving from imagination to entering the scene as fully as you can with all your senses.

Just going through this memory door into this visceral multi-dimensional sense of being fully there now.

So as you notice the particulars of the physical scene,

The details,

The smells,

The sights,

The sounds,

Start to notice then your these positive qualities of feeling joy and visceral feeling of being fully embodied,

A sense of connection to nature or wherever you are or other people,

Feeling of what's absent the dropping away of self-referencing or worry,

Non-fear,

Non-anxiety and then a feeling of love or bliss or fullness,

Emptiness and just feel all those qualities,

Peace,

And then just notice that the connection to the scene,

The connection to the feelings and emotions and qualities and then go a little back to the source of where they're coming from.

Just notice the feeling of being,

What it's like to be aware from who you are primarily.

Maybe it'll be more like an absence or a space or a invisible openness.

And now as you notice that the interconnection begin to let go of the visuals of this particular situation or scene,

Still feeling those qualities of being and then let go of any grasping on to those qualities as you let go even more and begin to be here but particularly stay with who this is that was experiencing that then.

Feel the sense of the view or the orientation or your essential self that was there and allowed to be free and is here now.

So as you let go of visuals,

Smells,

Imagination,

Memory,

Any holding on to anything,

Come to feel the essential nature of who you are.

As you notice that you are aware of the feeling of sitting here now,

Smelling this air,

Hearing these sounds and yet remaining with this revealed nature of who you are so that you can perceive whatever's happening here and now in the same way from the same awakened consciousness.

And so letting all your senses be open,

So all the sounds around are just moving through.

You can be in a more active environment and let all your senses be equally on and when you're ready you let your eyes softly open and just be equal sense but continue to feel back and down to this sense of who you are now,

Who experienced that scene and that time and that view of reality and notice whether it's more about who you are and what dimension of consciousness you've shifted into from which you can be aware any time of the day.

So just check for yourself,

See what's true now,

Going up to thought to check or memory even now,

Staying open,

Receptive and just see who or what's here now.

When you don't go to thought,

Don't go to sleep,

Don't go to memory or daydream and just feel more within your core rather than focusing on the external details,

Just resting as this open-hearted awareness,

This feeling of I am or just am with whatever is.

Just begin to familiarize yourself with yourself in this primary dimension and enjoy.

I liked and used this idea of using a wonderful memory as a point of reference on understanding and defining who I am. It happened few times when I was in the middle of reading something that I enjoyed and brought to me an "aha" moment, that I was enveloped by an overwhelming feeling of happiness, freedom, joy. Going back to that memory I found the meaning of the blissfulness that I experienced Thank you and Namaste ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
