During stressful times, when we are tense and worried, the body releases stress hormones that can strain our immune system's functioning. In this meditation, you will release tension from your body, calm your mind, and communicate with your subconscious through affirmative imagery to support and influence the body's healing processes. The meditation begins with an introduction and ends with a few minutes of extended music.

Welcome to this guided meditation.

Worldwide we are experiencing a very challenging and stressful time.

It is very normal to react to the threat of the coronavirus with the fight-or-flight response,

Which produces anxiety,

Worry and stress.

In these times we need to find ways to unhook from worry and engage in activities that nurture our body and mind.

We know that stressful emotional states can have an adverse impact on our immune system.

So eating healthy,

Getting out in nature,

Engaging in activities that relax and soothe,

And connecting safely with family and friends can promote physical and mental health.

Research has revealed that mindfulness meditation increases activity in the areas of the brain acting as our immune systems command center.

When these areas are stimulated through mindfulness and meditation,

These immune system functions more effectively.

In this meditation we focus on grounding and enhancing the mind-body connection and supporting the immune system.

Relax into a quiet space,

Comfortably sitting or lying down.

Make any adjustments you need to allow your body to be as comfortable as possible.

Close your eyes and be aware of your body as a whole.

Turn your attention,

Your awareness now,

To your breathing.

Just focusing on your breathing,

Allowing the breath to pace naturally.

You are aware of the wave of the inhale and the easing release of the exhale.

If you find your attention being drawn away from your breathing,

As soon as you are aware of being distracted,

Just note it and return your attention to the breath.

Stay on the breath,

Allowing the in and out waves to relax you more and more.

Give yourself this time to disconnect from any worries,

Distracting thoughts of needing to be somewhere or to do something.

This is your time.

This is your time to rest and stillness.

This is time you give to yourself for healing,

For nurturing.

Time to just be,

Like lying on the grass on a sunny day,

Just watching the clouds pass by,

Feeling the warmth of the sun on your body.

Just being,

Breathing and being.

Continue to breathe naturally,

Relaxing more and more.

Now in this relaxed state,

You are going to take a journey into yourself and the body's healing mechanisms.

A journey into those forces that protect you from illness and disease,

Your own immune system.

Using the imaginative part of your mind,

You open the connections between the conscious and subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is very receptive to visual images.

With intention,

You will create a bridge to the subconscious,

Which allows the wise creative mind to influence your beliefs in a positive way.

You will create a dialogue between mind and body,

Allowing you to influence and support your body's healing systems with your mind.

By being relaxed,

Calm and present in the moment,

The mind-body connection becomes stronger and more integrated.

Letting go,

You surrender your mind into the realm of positive possibilities.

So continue to breathe into stillness,

Calmness and relaxation.

Now in your mind's eye,

Be aware of the halo of energy that encircles your body,

The aura or etheric body.

Begin to be aware of this sustaining energy field,

Permeating and surrounding your physical body.

Perhaps you can feel the gentle vibration or tingling of your light body,

Also known as the subtle body.

Allow your mind to connect with the image of your aura as it presents itself to you.

Now imagine you are outside on a warm sunny day.

Allow the image of a favorite place to arise in your imagination.

As you relax in this place,

Begin to feel a beam of warm soft sunlight surrounding you,

Penetrating your energy field and your body.

As this golden beam of warm light surrounds your body,

Be aware of any sensations you feel around your body or within your body.

Perhaps as you focus on your body,

You begin to feel this soothing golden light being absorbed by your physical being,

Enveloping all your internal organs as well.

Here your mind and body relax and surrender to the vibrations of the sunlight,

Taking in restorative fresh energy.

This restorative energy renews and balances the energy around your body as well as the energy within your body.

As this warm energy surrounds,

Envelops and penetrates,

You relax more deeply as if a warm blanket covers and protects you.

Surrender to this calm protection,

Going deeper into stillness guided by the warm light.

In this enhanced relaxed state,

You find yourself drifting deeper into your body beyond the organs and bone structures to the level of cells.

With the power of your imagination,

See the golden stream of light enveloping the cells in your immune system.

See these cells however they appear to you.

This majestic protective system is both defender and peacekeeper.

All these guardian cells work in unison to maintain harmony and balance as well as monitor for threatening invaders.

Like a well-tuned and practiced orchestra performing together in harmonious rhythm,

Your body's strength and vitality are maintained by the immune system.

Now with the intention of sending nurturing energy to the orchestra of protective cells,

Focus on the beam of light now entering each cell,

Allowing your mind to connect with these protective cells.

Create an intention to stimulate the cells of your immune system to expand and strengthen the same way an athlete trains and builds strength and stamina to compete in a competition.

See the healing beams of light stimulating your defender cells to grow stronger,

Group and work together and become alert to threats within your body.

Feel the harmonious rhythm of this miraculous system vibrating gently inside your body.

All the systems in your body now musically tuned to vibrational healing,

Warm,

Gentle,

Soft and secure.

Your mind and body are now operating in unison,

Part of the orchestra of healing systems within you.

Be aware of any sensations you feel.

Surrender to stillness,

Feeling secure and peaceful.

Know that your immune system reaches its optimal functioning when you are free of tension,

Anxiety or stress.

When you are deeply relaxed and calm,

Your body,

Mind and spirit work together for your optimal health.

Know that your creative mind can make what is imagined real and that you can support the body's healing forces by living mindfully in the present,

Taking time each day to meditate,

Being still,

Present and calm.

You can enhance the healing powers of your mind with positive affirmations.

I am healthy.

My immune system is strong and getting stronger every day.

I am secure.

I believe in the wisdom of my body and its ability to heal.

Life has given me the gift of today.

I accept what unfolds in this moment,

All that is in this present moment.

I am at peace.

I walk in the light of hope.

I draw strength and resilience for my ability to experience each moment of my life fully.

I am open to life's lessons.

My nature is divine.

And I trust and surrender to the powerful magnificence of the life force that is within me and beyond me.
