Hello and welcome to Five Minutes in Nature with me Liz Scott and I'm sitting on a rock up here on Dartmoor halfway down a hill and I'm sheltered out of the wind and this is like a sun trap.
I've got my coat on at the moment and I think I'll be taking it off very soon.
It is so warm.
One of those days I walk up,
I'm cold,
It's windy and then you get out of the wind into the sun and suddenly it's like you're back in the summer again.
It's extraordinary weather and down below I can see on the grass below before I reach the lane that takes me home,
I can see cattle grazing and there is sheep grazing and I think I can see some ponies down there as well.
It's quite a way down the hill and today my reflection is picking up something I spoke about yesterday and I just wanted to say it again because for me this is so important when it comes to what I've seen in my life and what I see moving forward and what I've seen is that we are not broken.
We are not broken and I don't mean the human experience and I don't mean to say that people haven't had things in their lives that have happened where they've been hurt,
Where it's been distressing and they are feeling upset or traumatized or have PTSD or mental health issues that keep recurring because of something that happened.
I'm not saying that so I really want you to hear what I'm saying.
In our human form it's absolutely possible to feel and experience the challenges and the hardships of being human.
That's what being human is all about.
However,
We are not human.
We are spiritual entities or to be more accurate we are the spiritual entity of life itself taking form as a human and in the game of being human yes you can get hurt and yes it can be tough and yet when you look beyond that deep within you see that you are connected to the energy of life itself and at that level we are all the same in my work when I listen to people or train people I'm helping them remember who they truly are.
I'm helping them to see beyond the storm of their thinking and the anxiety and the worry and the thoughts of who they think they are,
Their identity and to bring them back to that space within them that is settled and ageless and present and aware.
You see when you or I bring our attention to that place that settled space within we are having an experience as close as we can of who we truly are.
We temporarily fall out of our minds which are looking at difference and conflict and agitation and judgment and fear and anxiety.
When we fall out of that space and we see the truth of who we are then suddenly we see the truth of who everybody is and what I've noticed for myself is that when I am in that space of seeing the truth of myself and seeing the truth of other people that spiritual essence that people are made from then I navigate with more ease in life because ultimately I know that at the level of soul I cannot be hurt or damaged and equally I know that whatever anybody is presenting to me in the moment at the level of their soul they cannot be damaged either and in actual fact at the level of spirit we are both made of the same stuff.
We are like characters in a play created by the same playwright but displaying different characteristics and yet we come from the same space the same source.
So today I want to remind you this if you're feeling agitated or depressed or sad or alone then you're having a very human experience and it can be really tough being human and that's why I always ask you to look within not within your body but look within to the deeper truth of who you are.
Who or what is that ever-present awareness within you?
As you bring your attention to that space and feel it and live from it then that's where you can navigate life with ease.
So continue to look within.
That is the message today.
