Today is an invitation into a self reiki and mindfulness practice to calm the nervous system.
Now before you begin this practice,
If you are feeling really activated,
Really anxious,
The best thing you can do is actually go out and move your body first.
So whether it's jumping,
Shaking,
Clapping,
Going for a walk,
All of that is welcome.
But oftentimes,
Dare I say always,
We want to discharge some of that energy before we find stillness.
Otherwise,
We can just find that we feel really agitated within the stillness.
So this is something you could adapt to a walking practice if you've got yourself outside and listen to this audio while walking.
That can be very supportive if you are feeling highly activated or highly anxious.
So to begin the practice,
We're going to start with breath.
And the first breath I'm offering is called Brahmeri breathing,
The black bumblebee breath.
And it is very simple.
It is an expansive inhale.
So as you breathe in,
Focus on drawing the air right to the base of the lungs.
Ribs fill in all directions.
Front ribs,
Side ribs,
Back ribs expand.
And then the exhale is a hum.
A few more like that.
Three more.
Turn the gaze towards the space of the third eye.
Two more.
And that gaze can be inward.
The eyes could actually be closed.
And now bring a softness into the jaw,
Even wiggling the lower jaw side to side or fluttering the lips.
Bringing a softness through the belly.
And now with your breath,
Invitation into what Andrew Huberman calls a physiological sigh.
So it's a double inhale,
Long,
Slow exhale.
So you're going to breathe in.
Sipping a little bit more all through the nose on the inhale and then long,
Slow exhale,
Either nose or mouth.
Couple more like that.
Breathing in through the nose,
Filling up.
Slight pause.
Sipping a little bit more.
Release it as you release.
Invite the shoulders away from the ears.
Three more like that.
Breathing in.
And sip.
Exhale and soften any of the areas of the body that are tense,
That are holding,
That are gripping.
Two more.
And release.
And now,
Sweet one,
Start to feel into your body.
And start to feel into the places where your body connects down to the earth or to the floor beneath you.
Consciously feeling into that interface between your body and the support that holds you.
And as you bring your awareness into these places,
Can you allow yourself to soften and sink into that support?
Let the brow soften.
Jaw soften.
Throat soften.
The musculature around the chest and shoulders soften.
And then softens more.
Belly soften.
Pelvis and legs.
Sink heavy towards the earth.
And now,
Sweet ones,
Invitation to imagine a golden light swirling just above the head.
As you bring the hands into a prayer position.
Attention lands at the place where the middle fingers touch.
And as you feel into that connection point between the middle fingers.
With the inhale,
Drink in,
Draw in this golden light that swirls above the head.
Let it travel down through the central channel of your body,
Gathering at the point just below the navel.
You may hold the breath in there for a moment as this energy builds in the pelvic bowl.
And then you'll exhale with a sigh.
And that light,
That prana will flush out through the mouth,
The hands,
The feet.
Full body pranic rinse with your breath.
A couple more just like that.
You don't have to exert a lot of effort over this breath.
But the light flows in and gathers on the inhale.
And it flushes out on the exhale.
Letting this ki,
This prana,
This life force move through you.
And now,
You can let go of any effort over the breath.
Rub the palms together quite vigorously.
And generating some heat.
And inviting this universal life force to flow through you.
As you feel ready,
You can place these charged hands on the top of the head.
Whatever position feels comfortable for you.
Letting the hands rest on the crown.
And symbolically gesturing at your willingness to trust the divine.
And your willingness to co-create with the universe,
With the creator,
However you understand it.
May these healing hands bring a sense of renewal.
A renewal in your physiological state,
But also a renewal of humility.
A renewal of connection with that which is beyond the physical.
A renewal of your commitment to co-create with the divine.
As you feel ready,
Sweet one,
You can start to bring the hands down.
Bringing the index and middle fingers to rest on the temples.
And just allow yourself to take some circular motions,
Massaging out the temples with those two fingers on both sides.
And notice what feels like a yes in your body.
Is it a yes to go clockwise or counterclockwise?
Or to move between the two?
Finding your spiral,
The spiraling massage movement.
The left and right side of the head.
Similar to our Reiki One symbol.
Chokure.
Connecting to the power of the universe in this moment.
You are always connected.
But we are not always aware.
So this practice lets us drop in to remember our connection to all that is.
And when we remember that connection,
We can soften and we can trust.
As you are ready,
Sweet one,
You're going to slide your hands back just slightly so that the palms are cupping over the ears.
With the hands in this position.
The awareness moves inside the head.
And you may even sense this energy pulsing from hand to hand.
As your awareness drops in to the center most point.
Of your brain.
Allowing yourself to feel into this space.
To experience the inner landscape of your head as sensation.
What's there?
It is from this space that we can cast a vision.
Cast a vision of what we are here to co-create.
Cast a vision of how we are meant to serve.
And when our vision comes from a place of serving the greatest good.
When our vision transcends selfish motives.
It becomes easier to align.
With Divine Will.
You are not the doer.
You are the servant.
Of humanity.
The servant of the Divine.
So you allow your gaze to be soft and to be inspired.
And now sweet ones as you are ready you can slide one hand to rest on the forehead.
One hand to cup.
The back of the head right at the base of the skull.
Keeping that inward focus.
Sensing more.
Noticing more.
Awakening to what is present now.
As you are ready.
You can move your hands so that one rests.
Just above the throat.
One can rest at the very top of the chest wall.
So that super sternal notch.
And the other hand can rest right on the energetic heart.
Feeling an ease washing through the mouth.
And the throat.
Jaa relax release.
And the armor around the heart begins to melt.
And the space behind the heart starts to broaden.
And as you are ready you can move the hands down to rest on your belly.
Placing them in whatever way feels best for you.
Whether they both rest on the solar plexus or you can take one hand to the top of the abdomen and one to the bottom.
You decide.
Can you feel into the warmth of the hands.
And can you allow that more.
To invite a sense of softening.
And that warmth seeping in.
To your core.
That warmth lands on the adrenals and invites them to relax.
And as we work into the solar plexus chakra.
We are reminded.
To soften our egoic will.
Aligning our personal will with divine will.
As we do that.
It is easier to soften it is easier to trust.
We don't have to control everything.
For this moment sweet one.
What if you didn't try to control.
Anything.
Received.
And now invitation to bring the hands to rest on the hip bones.
Invitation to feel into the bones of the body and let them sink down.
In this moment,
Surrender.
Rest.
Trust.
You are safe here.
And now sweet one.
Invitation to linger.
In this state of rest.
Or to begin reawakening the body.
As you reawaken.
Remember how it feels to be in a state of renewal.
To be in a state of trust and faith.
Remember the physiological feeling of softening your grasp over control.
Remember the physiological feeling of opening to grace from something beyond your limited understanding.
And when you are ready to move back into your day.
Take this physiological state with you.
Protect it.
Cultivate it.
And remember it is always available to come back to.
Much love to you.

Before doing your meditation I was in a state of overwhelming stress. I could feel it everywhere in my body. After I finished your session, all of those horrible sensations were gone. Absolutely amazing, definitely will be my go to if I ever experience this again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! π
