This meditation is for Seasonal Affective Disorder or S.A.D. Also known as "the winter blues". Due to lack of sunlight and colder weather; it's normal to sometimes feel down, anxious and lethargic. This meditation is meant to support our physical, mental and emotional state by exploring full body relaxation, affirmations and intention setting so that you can feel grounded and live from a place of true authenticity, while giving yourself permission to feel and note force.

Hi,

My name is Lisa and this is a meditation for seasonal affective disorder.

Seasonal affective disorder is when the darkest time of the year,

The change of seasons affect us mentally,

Physically,

And emotionally.

The winter season is the darkest time of the year and if you're anything like me,

You can get pretty affected by the lack of sunlight.

But it's also a beautiful reminder to slow down and come inward as the sun slowly but surely makes its way to your side of the hemisphere.

That being said,

The journey can be seemingly long and honoring the cycles within us can be as challenging as honoring the cycles of this season in and of itself.

This meditation is meant to help you honor the feelings and your authentic energy today without forcing but letting yourself really be so that you can cultivate an inward warmth and glow and honor the change and the cycles in and outside of yourself.

So with that,

Lie on down or get into a comfortable position,

Whatever it is that you need.

Breathe on in and sigh on out.

Inhale and exhale.

And last big deep breath into the body and sigh out.

Notice your breath and notice with every inhale and exhale,

The breath craves to be inward and released again and again.

It's like the sunrise to moonrise from waking to resting,

From spring to winter.

Your breath is like a wave that honors these natural cycles that are within all of us.

So breathe naturally,

Notice the authentic ebbs and flows of your breath.

Take a moment to just enjoy the dance honoring any feelings that come up with the breath physical,

Emotional.

And to ask yourself honestly,

How do I feel today?

How do I feel physically?

How do I feel emotionally?

And notice your thoughts and feelings without judgment,

Criticism or comparison.

And really release any guilt or shame.

Take a moment to create a space where you can welcome your authentic thoughts and feelings home.

Embrace them into yourself lovingly.

It's okay to feel however you feel today.

And from this place of welcoming all of yourself,

Accepting where you are at this present moment,

When you breathe into these feelings and let them go.

Inhaling into these feelings and let them pass through.

And as they come up,

Just continue to breathe in and continue to let them filter through and as you breathe them in and let them go.

The love you are showing yourself is creating an inner warmth and glow.

And feel yourself radiate with this glow from toes to ankles.

Knees to knees,

Knees to hips.

Lower body all the way to the lower back in the belly.

Feel the belly and the chest and your torso expand with this glow,

With this love of welcoming and just release all in anything that does not serve you on exhale.

Release the jaw.

Soften the eyes.

Feel the deep relaxation from shoulders to fingertips.

And as you are here,

One with your inner glow welcoming your internal experience,

You can choose to listen or repeat these affirmations after me.

I choose to honor my emotions without shame or guilt.

Everything I do today is more than enough.

There is a little bit of good in all days.

I am exactly where I am meant to be.

I honor the cycles of my emotions.

I honor that I do not have to try so hard.

Every step I take is one step forward.

My past experiences and negative thoughts do not define my present moment.

Spring is coming.

Breathing in and sighing out.

Now go ahead and just take a moment to simply be.

From this place of being,

Make an intention as simple as you wish.

And when you are ready.

And when you are ready.

Enter this world of action,

Of life,

With compassion and so much love for yourself.

Move in any way that you need to to fully honor your authentic journey.

Sending you the inward glow of the sun and lots and lots of love this winter season my friend.

Blessings.

And Namaste.
