Hi.
In this meditation we'll take some time to do nothing.
I would like to not even call it a meditation.
I'd prefer that we think of it as a time where we just sit and do nothing.
Here you can imagine that you're sitting as you were when you were a child.
When you were sitting in the grass,
Picking the grass purposely.
Just sitting there.
Back then you had time when you had no goal or no agenda.
And that's what I would like for today.
Just sitting as a child on the grass,
Doing nothing.
You can take your time to land,
Land in your body,
Sit exactly the way you are.
You can have your eyes closed or your eyes open,
It doesn't really matter.
Your hands can be facing up,
Facing down.
It doesn't matter much for today.
Just sitting,
We're not getting lost in technicality.
There is no goal,
No agenda,
And there is absolutely nothing you can succeed at today.
And as a consequence there is nothing you can fail at.
You're just sitting there as you are,
Exactly as you are.
You can drop any effort to change things.
If thoughts are coming,
Let them.
If thoughts are not coming,
Let them too.
If you're tired,
You're tired.
If you're bored,
You're bored.
If you're excited,
You're excited.
If you're hopeful,
You're hopeful.
You can sit with exactly what you are and who you are today and even now.
How good it feels to just sit there.
How good it feels to drop it all.
How good it feels to drop it all.
What a relief.
Just sitting there,
Sitting in your body,
Sitting on earth.
You're probably coming up with many creative ways of wanting to do something.
Maybe you're analyzing the experience.
Maybe you're trying to follow the suggestions to a T,
Being a good student.
Maybe you're judging your way of handling the experience.
Maybe you want it to be over.
All of it is fine.
It's totally fine.
Don't do anything about it.
It's all part of your experience and you're not doing anything to change your experience.
Just sitting,
Being with what comes up.
It's all welcome.
It's all welcome.
Now,
Maybe you can feel a sense of relief.
It feels good to give yourself a break.
Maybe it gives you space for other things.
Maybe other things can expand right now.
There's plenty of space.
You're broader than you think you are.
You have space for it all.
Maybe you can touch a sense of goodness and tenderness and letting things be exactly the way they are.
It's an attitude that is absolutely non-violent.
It can be a bit violent to try to change things,
To try to make you meet your expectations.
But now it's just sitting.
Can drop expectations.
Can drop your goals.
It is all welcome.
Maybe you can also touch a sense of trust.
Trust that the moment will take care of itself.
Trust that things will be ok.
Trust that you can drop any effort and it will still be ok.
Maybe you have more space to sit in your body.
Just there,
Sitting and you're inhabiting your body.
Just sitting there,
You're inhabiting your body.
Maybe you can feel that it's more dense,
That you're more present to it.
If not,
It's totally fine.
It's totally fine because we're not trying to change the experience.
Just sitting.
How good it feels to just sit there and do nothing.
Thank you for sitting with me today.
I hope you can bring some of it during your day or during your evening.
It doesn't take much time to drop effort and take a minute or two and do nothing.
Just sit like a child on the grass and stop trying.
Stop trying.
Surrendering any resistance.
