As we step into a new week, I’ve been sitting with a simple but powerful truth: we are not meant to do this alone. Hello and welcome.

I'm recording this meditation,

Which I've entitled,

More Together Than Alone,

On January 26th,

2026.

It happens to be a Monday,

And as I'm stepping into a new week,

I've been sitting with a simple but powerful truth,

And that's this.

We are not meant to do this alone.

In times like these,

When the world feels fractured and loud and often overwhelming,

It can be really tempting to retreat or to harden or to believe the story that we are separate from one another.

It's so easy for us to fall into the belief that we're meant to handle everything on our own,

Tucked,

To separate,

But the truth is,

We were never meant to do life alone.

And perhaps this moment in history is asking us to remember what is possible when we choose connection over division,

Listening over assuming,

And compassion over certainty.

So as you listen to this meditation,

I invite you to soften,

To reach out,

And to remember we are more together than alone.

We heal,

Grow,

And find our way together.

So perhaps a question we can ask ourselves this week is,

Where can we choose connection today?

So as we prepare for our meditation,

Find a comfortable seat or maybe allow yourself to lie down and let your hands rest easily.

Maybe roll your shoulders to help to soften them,

And take a big yawn to unclench your jaw.

If it feels safe for you and comfortable,

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Take a slow breath in through your nose and an easy sigh out through the mouth.

Again,

Inhale steady and full,

And exhale letting go of the day so far.

There's nowhere else you need to be,

Nothing you need to fix or figure out.

Just this moment and the quiet act of arriving.

Now bring your attention to where your body meets the surface beneath you,

The chair,

The floor,

The earth that's holding you.

Feel the weight of your body being supported,

And notice that you don't have to hold yourself up alone.

Notice your breath without changing it,

Just noticing.

The gentle rise of the inhale,

And the natural release of the exhale.

If you find that your mind wanders,

That's okay.

Simply return to the feeling of being held.

Now imagine roots extending from your body into the earth beneath you,

Ancient and connected to something far larger than you.

The earth knows how to hold many stories at once.

Now imagine you are not the only one breathing in this moment.

Across towns,

Cities,

Countries,

Others are inhaling and exhaling with you.

Different lives,

Different circumstances,

The same breath.

Let yourself feel this quiet truth.

You are not alone in this human experience.

Now bring to mind the image of a river flowing steadily,

Sometimes smooth,

Sometimes rushing around rocks.

The river has traveled far.

It carries stories of rain,

Mountains,

Just like you.

Eventually,

The river reaches the sea,

But it doesn't disappear when it reaches the sea.

It becomes part of something larger,

Without losing its essence.

Allow yourself to feel this truth.

You can be uniquely you,

And still belong.

Quietly ask yourself,

Where in my life am I craving connection?

Just notice what comes up,

Not trying to force an answer,

Just noticing.

Where have I been carrying something alone that was never meant to be held by just one heart?

You don't need clarity right now,

Only curiosity and kindness towards yourself.

Now bring your awareness back to your breath.

Silently repeat,

Or just allow these words to wash over you.

We are more together than alone.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and carry this sense of connection with you into your day.
