This meditation invites us to pause, to breathe, to give thanks, and to remember what matters most. But it also invites us to soften a bit. To release the tight grip we sometimes hold around old stories, hurts, misunderstandings, or expectations that didn’t go the way we hoped. Grace isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. Grace is the quiet decision to meet life—and each other—with a little more softness than we did yesterday.

Hello and welcome.

Take a moment to settle in.

Find a comfortable position either seated with your spine relaxed or lying down with your arms gently at your sides.

Let your eyes soften and when you're ready,

Allow them to close.

Begin by taking a slow steady breath in through your nose and a long gentle breath out through your mouth.

Let this next inhale invite a sense of calm into your body and let the exhale release anything you don't need to carry in this moment.

Bring your awareness to the places where your body is supported.

Feel the weight of your legs,

Your hips,

Your back,

Your arms.

Let yourself be held.

With your next slow breath,

Imagine gathering yourself home.

Home into this moment.

Into this breath.

Into this space of self gentleness.

There is nothing you need to solve right now.

Nothing you need to figure out.

Nothing to perfect.

Just allow yourself to arrive.

If thoughts begin to drift in,

Simply let them drift out again.

Imagine the way leaves float along a quiet stream,

Soft,

Unhurried.

Now bring your attention to your heart space.

Imagine a warm light there,

Soft,

Golden,

Comforting,

A light that holds compassion,

Compassion,

Openness,

Gentleness.

On your inhale,

Imagine that this golden light grows a little brighter.

On your exhale,

Imagine it softening the tension around your heart.

Grace begins here,

With you,

Within you.

Begin by offering yourself grace.

We are often the hardest on ourselves,

Carrying old expectations,

Regrets,

Or unspoken pressure.

In your mind,

Repeat softly,

I offer myself grace.

I'm doing the best I can.

I release the need to be perfect.

Let your breath smooth out any edges inside you.

Any tightness.

Any self-judgment.

Any stories you no longer need to carry.

Feel a sense of softening,

Of loosening,

Of allowing.

Now gently,

Without forcing anything,

Bring to mind someone you've had tension with.

Someone you've disagreed with.

Someone who created disappointment or heartbreak.

Someone whose presence stirs emotion.

No need to fix the relationship.

No need to reach for forgiveness.

Just allow grace to be present.

Imagine that same golden light around your heart,

Extending outward.

Not erasing boundaries,

But softening the hardness around the story.

I can soften,

Even just a little.

I can let that be enough.

Now imagine your breath as a gentle offering.

A soft exhale of understanding.

Of compassion.

And of spaciousness sent into the world around you.

Your grace,

No matter how big or small,

Creates ripples.

Ripples of kindness.

Ripples of peace.

Ripples of possibility.

Bring your awareness back to your heart.

And feel the warmth you've cultivated there.

Grace lives here.

It begins with you.

Take a deep,

Slow inhale through your nose.

And a long,

Complete exhale through your mouth.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,

Gently returning to the room.

When you're ready,

Carry this softness with you.

Carry this grace into your day.

And into the people you love.

And most importantly,

Carry it inward.

Toward yourself.

Have a beautiful day.

Thank you for this sweet meditation. It was a lovely reminder that grace lives within and to not only give grace to others but to ourselves as well. ✨🙏✨

Lisa, grace is a tricky one. I struggle sometimes because I am notoriously direct and to the point. We have a new baby in the house and giving grace is even more important now that our lives are changed. It’s something I am aware of and working on but it has been challenging. Thanks for the reminder.
