Welcome to this short guided practice,
It's called Heart Space.
So many of us may be feeling a little bit worried or anxious,
Particularly with things unfolding with the global pandemic.
Really normal to have some stress and worry about that.
So we have two main emotions,
Love and fear,
And when we are feeling a little bit of fear,
It can be really skillful to cultivate love or gratitude.
So joining me now,
Looking down at the hands,
You can do this practice sitting,
Standing or lying,
Particularly if you notice a little bit of anxiety or fear is coming up.
What can we do to support ourselves with this?
So looking down at the hands,
You're going to interlock the fingers together and place the hands over the heart space.
It could be the center chest or some of you might prefer to move it a little bit over to your left.
And noticing how the elbows drop down,
The shoulders drop down.
And you can feel this sense of warmth and touch over the heart space.
And as you tune into the heart space,
I invite you to notice or bring up into your heart three things that you're grateful for right now.
You might be grateful if you're healthy right now.
You might be grateful for your family,
Friends or loved ones.
You might be grateful that you have fresh water and food.
Or you might even be grateful for your practice right now that you can take this moment to invite gratitude into the heart space.
You might even be grateful just that you can breathe right now.
Feeling how the heart is breathed by the lungs.
Now just taking a moment to cultivate gratitude into your good heart.
And then breathing.
Notice how the heart is breathed gently by the lungs.
Lungs expand with the in-breath and gently condense around the heart with the out-breath.
You might be able to feel the inner chant of the heartbeat behind the hands,
Touch of warmth.
Sense of gratitude that your heart is beating,
Circulating blood,
Prana energy around your body.
And just sitting in silence for a few moments,
Feeling your good heart,
The heartbeat or the breath around the heart.
Or just focusing on warmth and touch that might feel pleasant or safe around the heart.
And when you're ready releasing the hands,
Hands soft,
Palms facing up.
And know that you can do this any time in the day if you're feeling a little bit worried or stressed or agitated.
Just take a moment to pause,
Interlocking fingers over the heart space and focusing on gratitude.
It's such a beautiful antidote to fear or worry.
Thank you for your practice and I hope it supports you today.
