My name is Anne-Marie and I'm honoured that you are here with me today as I guide you in this Yoga Nidra to address your human need for autonomy and control in your life.

A sense of control over what happens to you and around you.

The freedom to make your own decisions and choices which helps you feel in charge of your life so that you do not become overwhelmed.

Your power in the world is a torch of light to overcome any challenges,

Illuminating your way with the energy of your solar plexus.

As you settle yourself on the floor,

Bed or earth,

Allow your body to sink deep into your mat,

Matras,

Ground,

As you feel the parts that are connected beneath you.

Make yourself completely comfortable by placing a pillow beneath your knees,

Your head,

Perhaps a mask over your eyes,

A blanket over your body and anything else you need to ensure you are completely cosy.

Allow your body to remain still for the duration of the practice,

If at all possible.

Affirm to yourself to take this time for yourself to retreat,

Release and reconnect with your innate wisdom as you transform any lethargy into powerful vitality.

Affirm to yourself that you will allow yourself to take this time for yourself to retreat and surrender as you remain awake for the practice.

This is your practice,

So listen to my voice as you gently surrender to the embrace of the surface beneath you.

We will now practice a muscle tension exercise to allow all the knots to untangle so that the softness to your centre can bring total relaxation to your body.

Tense all the muscles in your right hand and arm,

Then slowly release.

Tense all the muscles in your left hand and arm,

Then slowly release.

Tense all the muscles in your right and left arm together,

Then slowly release.

Now tense all the muscles in your right foot and leg,

And then slowly release.

Now tense all the muscles in your left foot and leg,

Then slowly release.

Now tense both feet and legs together,

Then slowly release.

Now tense your shoulders all the way up to your ears,

Then release.

Tense all the muscles in your face,

Then release.

Tense your whole body,

Left,

Right,

Face,

Your whole body,

And then release.

And allow your whole body to sink deeper into the surface beneath you.

The practice of Yoga Nidra now begins as you set your sankhapa for your practice,

Your truth vow,

A vow you make to yourself to transform a living,

Limiting belief,

And to plant seeds in your garden,

The garden of your heart,

The garden of your solar plexus,

The garden of your core.

If you already are working with the sankhapa,

You can use that one,

Or you can set a new sankhapa for this practice.

You can work with your sankhapa until it becomes a reality in your life,

A new belief,

A new way of being in the world.

You can say your sankhapa three times now.

Then just let it go and trust that the universe will mind it.

Until the end of this practice,

As you slowly bring your awareness to your solar plexus,

The space beneath your ribs,

Just above your belly button.

Breathe deeply into this space,

Feeling it light up as you breathe in and release any tension as you breathe out.

I will guide you through a body scan.

As you follow my guide,

You may like to imagine a lustrous golden gem following my voice and landing on the body parts I mention so they can light up.

Your brow centre,

The centre of your throat,

Your right shoulder joint,

Your right elbow joint,

Your right wrist joint,

The tip of your right thumb,

The tip of your right index finger,

The tip of your right middle finger,

The tip of your right ring finger,

The tip of your right pinky finger,

The centre of your right wrist,

The centre of your right elbow,

The centre of your right shoulder,

The centre of your throat,

Your left shoulder joint,

Your left elbow joint,

Your left wrist joint,

The tip of your left thumb,

The tip of your left index finger,

The tip of your left middle finger,

The tip of your left ring finger,

The tip of your left pinky finger,

The centre of your left wrist,

The centre of your left elbow,

The centre of your left shoulder,

The centre of your throat,

The centre of your chest,

Your right nipple,

The centre of your chest,

Your left nipple,

Your heart centre,

Your solar plexus,

Your navel centre,

Two inches below your belly button,

Your right hip joint,

Your right knee joint,

Your right ankle joint,

The tip of your right big toe,

The tip of your right second toe,

The tip of your right third toe,

The tip of your right fourth toe,

The tip of your right fifth toe,

The centre of your right ankle,

The centre of your right knee,

The centre of your right hip,

Your navel centre,

Two inches below your belly button,

Your left hip joint,

Your left knee joint,

Your left ankle joint,

The tip of your left big toe,

The tip of your left second toe,

The tip of your left third toe,

The tip of your left fourth toe,

The tip of your left fifth toe,

The centre of your left ankle,

The centre of your left knee,

The centre of your left hip,

Your navel centre,

Two inches below your belly button,

Your solar plexus,

The heart centre,

Your brow centre,

And now your lustrous gem guides your awareness to your solar plexus where it ignites your power centre so that it illuminates and spreads to all the energy centres in your body,

Breathing deep into your solar plexus as you feel the fire in your belly light up as you release the restricted limitations from the world around you.

So you feel the freedom of your genuine essence,

Sensing the energy flow naturally throughout your whole body,

Flowing down from your solar plexus to your belly,

To your root,

Down your right leg and foot and flowing back up from your left foot,

Leg,

To your root,

Belly and solar plexus where it lands for a few breaths before it flows up your throat to your right cheek,

Right ear,

Right temple and top of your head,

Flowing down to your left temple,

Left ear,

Left cheek,

Back to your throat and landing back in your solar plexus so that your whole body is lit up with the lustrous golden light of awareness and feeling your whole body from your feet to your head,

Left and right,

The space around your body,

The space inside your body,

The body as home,

The whole body.

So move your awareness back to your solar plexus once more and feel the energy there as you breathe deeply into your third energy centre,

Sensing your body connected to the surface beneath as you feel the warmth from your solar plexus seeping into every part of your body,

The warmth enveloping you like the sun on a summer's day.

Then allow that feeling to drift away as you bring the feeling of cold to your body,

The fire in your solar plexus dimmed to feel the cold envelop your body,

The cold of a cold winter's morning seeping into your bones.

Then allow that feeling to drift away as the warmth envelops your body once more,

Allow the sense of vitality to pulse through your body,

Feeling your whole body pulsing with vitality.

Now let that drift away as you allow the sense of tiredness to drop into your bones,

The physical tiredness of your body as you drop deeper and surrender your grip as you allow the energetic frequency of your body letting go to allow new vitality flow through you as you feel the body as whole once more.

Your whole body from your solar plexus to your feet back up through your solar plexus to your crown,

Your whole body,

The body as whole connected,

Grounded and at ease.

Sensing your body connected to the earth,

The sweet surrender of letting go to the warmth of your cocoon as you feel the warmth releasing you in a rhythmic dance of ease like a carefree dance of a young child oblivious to the world around,

Dancing through the seals of life,

The freedom,

The dancing,

The feeling,

Your body drifting above the covers,

Above the room,

Above the building,

All the way up into the sky,

Complete surrender and letting go as you drift like a bird gliding through the sky,

Dancing with the clouds,

Dancing gently to the music of the wind,

The field of infinite possibilities where there are no limitations,

Nowhere to go,

Nowhere to be,

The complete sense of freedom as the air wraps around you,

The cool breeze gently caressing you,

Dancing with you in unison to the music only you can hear,

Hearing gentle whispers of wisdom in the wind connecting your solar plexus in harmony with the sun as you flow and ignite your fire to dance the dance of life,

The flames rising and glowing in the air,

The sparks dancing,

The powerful flow emerging with complete harmony to life just as it is,

Sensing it is exactly how it is meant to be,

The divine dance of life,

The rhythm of flow,

The light of fire,

The breeze of drifting,

Diving,

Dancing,

Dropping down through the sky,

Back to the room and back into your cocoon of comfort,

The body in a state of bliss now as you lie in powerful peace for a few minutes of stillness,

Silence and spaciousness.

From this spacious stillness and silence the whisper of your Sancoppa emerges,

The silence emerges with the wind to land once more into your awareness as you state it three times and as you slowly awake just set an intention for yourself so that you can carry it forward into the night,

Into the day,

An intention to allow yourself surrender,

Allow yourself to come back to your centre of power by breathing in and breathing out,

Breathing in and breathing out as you slowly bring your awareness back to your body,

Breathing on the floor,

Sensing your body breathing with each in breath and out breath so that you can slowly and gently move back to the room as you slowly start to move your fingers,

Your hands,

Your toes,

Your feet,

Stretching your body anyway that feels right for you and then slowly move to the side of your body that feels the most comfortable for you and allow yourself to lie there in the fetal position for a few breaths and slowly,

Very slowly and gently bring yourself up to sitting and once you are sitting you can gently open your eyes and come back into your space.

I tried to stay awake and alert but went to sleep heavily! I really needed that sleep so this was good. I’ll use this recording again and maybe stay more awake next time :)
