One of the greatest gifts you can leave for future generations is your own healing.

In this meditation,

We work with the mantra Aum Shanti,

Shanti meaning peace.

By welcoming peace into our bodies,

Our minds,

Our hearts,

We lay the foundation,

Create the space in which healing can occur.

And by sharing peace out to others,

We offer them the same opportunity to experience their own healing.

So I invite you to join me in a comfortable position.

You might be seated or lying down,

And perhaps bring a little bit of movement into your body.

You might sway side to side,

Maybe shrug the shoulders or take your head in a circle,

One direction and then the other.

Just kind of some free movement,

Maybe moving the parts of you that are stiff from earlier today or last night.

And then perhaps you want to join me for a long sighing exhale.

We'll breathe in the nose.

And then perhaps for a humming exhale.

Might sense yourself landing a bit more in your body.

And in this moment,

You might notice the top of your head and begin to soften the muscles around the top of your head,

The forehead and the eyebrows,

The eyes and the cheekbones,

The mouth and the jaw,

The throat and the shoulders,

The arms down to the fingers,

The abdomen.

As the body softens,

You might notice the ability to deepen the breath,

For the breath to flow more freely.

As you inhale,

You might send your breath down to the abdomen.

And as you exhale,

You might release the breath out the tips of the nostrils.

Enjoying this full ease,

Full breath.

I invite you to join me in the practice of Samavriti,

Even wavelength breath,

To create more balance and equilibrium in the body and the mind.

We'll gently exhale the air out.

And inhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Exhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Inhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Exhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Inhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Exhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Inhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Exhale,

Om 1,

Om 2,

Om 3,

Om 4.

Continue about four more rounds on your own.

You might keep with the count of four for the inhale and the exhale,

Or add a few counts on or shave some off.

Last round,

Samavriti on your own.

Can release the counting.

And perhaps you notice the body continuing with the rhythm intuitively,

Continuing on its own.

I invite you to bring your awareness to your spine.

We'll begin working with the sound Om.

You can begin to hear the sound Om in the spine,

With the sound A at the base of the spine,

Then traveling up,

The U at the heart,

And the M at the third eye center.

So hearing Om,

A at the base of the spine,

U at the heart,

And M at the third eye center.

Three times like that.

Again,

Hearing the sound Om in the spine,

But this time noticing the spine fill with light as you hear Om travel upward in the spine.

Three times.

Can release the sound Om,

And we'll begin to work with the sound Shanti.

You'll hear Shanti,

Shan,

The length of the spine from the base up to the throat,

Ti,

From the throat out around the body.

So shanti,

Hearing that sound travel up the spine and out through the throat,

Inviting peace into the body and peace surrounding the body 12 inches around you.

Nine times with shanti.

Begin to notice how the body feels,

The sense of peace,

Both inside and surrounding.

Perhaps how the mind feels or the heart having connected with or focused on peace.

Now I invite you to bring to mind a person or a group of people or a region of the world who you would like to send the energy of peace to.

And we'll combine the two sounds Om shanti together with the Om traveling up the spine to the third eye center,

And the shanti moving from your third eye center to the heart or hearts of the person or group.

People you have chosen.

So you'll inhale Om,

The base of the spine to the third eye,

Shanti from the third eye to their heart.

Om shanti.

About two minutes with this.

Om shanti.

Om shanti.

About 30 more seconds.

Can begin to release the mantra and begin to shift your attention back to the body,

The breath,

Perhaps bringing a little sway to the posture,

The shape that you're in.

Might notice how you feel both inside and out.

And if you'd like to close by rubbing your palms together,

You can join me to build some heat and energy between the hands.

And then you can place the palms of your hands over the eyes or anywhere on the body where you'd like to extend this healing energy.

We'll draw a deep breath in.

Perhaps a long sigh out.

Thank you so much for joining me in this practice.

I encourage you to practice this with your friends and family.

As many times as it serves you to continue to welcome in the energy of peace and to embrace healing in your life and in our world at large.

Many blessings.
