It can be easy to lose our footing during our busy schedules and hectic lives,

And this brief practice is offered as an opportunity for you to stop and recenter yourself anytime and anyplace.

Let's begin by just noticing our posture.

So whether you're sitting or standing or lying down,

Just beginning to notice the body being supported right here.

Taking a moment to feel the feet making contact with the floor or whatever is beneath them.

Tuning into all the ways in which the body is supported right now.

Inviting a sense of stability and balance into the posture as much as possible.

And inviting the posture itself to help you recenter right here and right now.

If it's comfortable for you to bring your attention to the breath,

Then you might just notice that the body is breathing in and breathing out all by itself.

If it's not comfortable for you to pay attention to the breath,

Then please feel free to rest your awareness with the sensations of the body.

If you've come to the breath,

You might like to try lengthening the inhalation and lengthening the exhalation.

So breathing in a long,

Steady in-breath,

Feeling the refreshing qualities of this life-giving air.

And as you're ready,

Exhaling slowly through the mouth with a sense of letting go,

Releasing whatever's depleted and no longer helpful.

Just taking a few of these long,

Steady breaths on your own.

Sensing the body letting go just a little bit more with each exhalation.

And then releasing any control over the breath,

Letting it just return on its own to its natural rhythm.

And starting to sense the whole body resting right here.

Sensing the earth beneath you,

Supporting you.

Sensing the air around you and the space around you.

Also aware of the sky above you.

Letting your attention be really wide open.

Sensing the space as far as you can imagine as you rest grounded and stable right here.

Bringing your attention back to your feet,

Sensing your body being supported,

Knowing that you are so much bigger than any one moment,

Any one situation.

Sensing that you can pause and reset anytime,

Anywhere.

Noticing how it is for you right now.

Maybe you'd like to offer yourself some appreciation for taking a moment to be here for yourself.

And as you're ready,

Continuing from here with kind awareness.
